i'm 61 and doubt i'll ever see this completed. when they did this up in seattle when i was a kid, folks used to mock them for the "ramps to nowhere." turns out they did some really good planning and eventually used all of it to great effect, but started many years ahead.
6 billion USD to replace two bridges? What interchanges will be at each end? Boston Big Dig Scheme Z spaghetti messes? Well no but they're still going to be pretty bad.

So why is it then, that I and everyone I know absolutely dreads and avoids driving in Seattle?
At least the two states agreed to a light railway. It has the potential to carry more people per hour than the new bridge!
Potential doesn't mean anyone will use it.
Keep up the great work !
