I went to the Triumph tour in Aug 1981 in Providence. It was my first concert and it was magical. I was 13 and became an MJ fanatic after that. At the end of the Jackson’s Live album, Marlon says, “we love you Providence!”! I was always like, wow, my screams are on an album! 😂

Off The Wall kickstarted Michael Jackson's GRAMMY-winning career: He earned Best R&B Vocal Performance, Male for "Don't Stop …" at the 22nd GRAMMYs.
I was at the Alabama leg of this tour. It was incredible! The tickets were only $25! I’ve seen him in concert about 4 times and met him twice. Very sweet man. Met him and his brothers when they came to my town.
$25!? Now that's what I call a real bargain!

9:39 pay attention to how passionate and animated MJ gets. When he starts talking about how people treat him differently. He just wants to be normal and i don't think fans take the time out to realize the mental health pain they cause their favorite artists. Beyonce, Elvis, Prince, Whitney. All legends but human beings, that weren't allowed to be human because fans would chase them and or their children out the mall from shopping. Even to the point of almost hurting MJ'S Kids. You can love someone's talent and be touched by them, there is nothing wrong with that but also understand these people are human just like you. Flawed and beauty. I think MJ got that animated because he was frustrated with the fact. He loved his fans but i also think he didn't know how to say "this life hurts too" Love the people that inspire you, don't worship them.

Off the wall era is so magical. Mike looked so happy and just getting his feet wet in the solo arena yet being a veteran at the same time. Love OFF THE WALL.

Those clips are from The Jackson's Destiny Tour. The Jackson's Triumph Tour was in 1981. The Jackson's Destiny Tour featured a few songs from Michael's Off The Wall album. The Jackson's Destiny Tour is one of my favorite concerts to watch on UA-cam.

Yes, this is the Destiny tour. I went to one of the Destiny concerts for my 15th birthday and it was amazing! Destiny is my favorite Jacksons album, but I really loved this concert because it was on the second leg, so I was able to experience those newly released Off The Wall songs LIVE. We got J5 songs, Jacksons songs and Michael songs all in one concert!
I've been a Jackson fan since 1969 as a young girl. Seeing him on the Ed Sullivan show that December evening. I was in love with his angelic voice when I heard it on the 📻.
Aww, I really feel for Michael, it must have been so hard for him at times, all the things he had to do and deal with, it's nice to see him smiling and being happy, I love his music, seeing him performing in the earlier days, those are really extra special moments. Love, love, love Rock With You from Off The Wall, that's my favourite song, also love Off The Wall, that song always makes me feel better when I listen to it, it's pure magic, just everything about him, the albulm, the music, him, is amazing 🌸
I like the Off the Wall era for many reasons. Love the Jacksons albums that bookend Off the Wall & MJ was so happy during that period
IK it really makes me wish the estate would release more footage from that Era. I'm really hope they do something for off the wall 45 next year
I’ve always loved this interview! And 12:20, you perfectly explained why the Off The Wall era is my favorite era of his, and why Off The Wall is my favorite album. He just had a certain glow during that time, and I really believe that was one of the happiest periods during his life. You can just feel the excitement of him really beginning to step out on his own and it reflects in the music. Like you said, I just love the vibes and essence during that time.
Off The Wall is one of my most favorite MJ albums.
I agree that 10 years is a short time as how we saw Michael grow from a boy to a young man. The industry made him grow up so fast.

I remember back when Off The Wall was first released. This iconic album was like a breath of fresh air that the music world was craving for. It was so refreshing and invigorating! I have so many fond memories of this MJ era. Off The Wall will always be my favorite MJ album of all time. It was the beginning of greatness!!! 🙌

Rotten media! Mike was so gentle, never being rude and them always trying to destroy him like hellish hyenas. His voice just make me feel like I in that "place without no name", where people are happy, no fear, no sorrow, no hunger...NO ROTTEN MEDIA!
They did amazing BUT my heart is with Michael Jackson only. I'm in love with that man he's absolutely gorgeous 😍 ❤️ I know it had to be very difficult but dang at the success and then when he went solo, I'm so grateful for all of his song's.....I wish I could have seen even one concert but 4 failed back surgeries wouldn't let me 😢 yep I want him back 😔

I love watching stuff like this I wish I was born during this time I am 32 years old and even than I don't feel like I seen the stuff with the Jackson's or Michael or Janet when I was little either I was more so into cartoons lol but I do remember having a Jackson 5 CD I think it was a compilation CD. Did you see an interview he did in 1980 with Janet. It is titled Michael Jackson 1980 interview with Janet someone is asking him questions and she is repeating it and he is answering it is good and nice to see or I should say hear siblings together. I think some one said in the comments that she was 14 during this time.

My favorite Michael song of all is Don't Stop Til You Get Enough - my absolute favorite, but Off the Wall has an incredible track list, the whole album is incredible. My favorite album is Dangerous but Off the Wall is a close, close second. And BTW, It's the Falling in Love is a phenomenal song!!!!!

This has always been my favorite Michael Jackson interview hands down!🙌🏾 This concert or any Destiny, Triumph, or Victory Tour concert in HD would be a must! Sounds like the job of the Estate who has access to all this footage. This is the Destiny tour! This interview is from late 1979 and the Destiny ended in January of 1980. The Triumph tour started in 1981.

I Would Love To Be There At That Concert
Fangirl I was with Michael doing and before Off The Wall. I was around them so much by this time ,the Jacksons are truly the first family of American music. No family ,even the Osmonds - Slyvers and any groups they try. The Jacksons had the right formula and magic ,like me and Michael magic ,but we was not a secret ,maybe we should have been .😔. The Jacksons "Black",Own T.V. Special,T.V. Cartoon ,made way for Bill Crosby black cartoons . First black young group to perform week shows in Vegas, first family to break records . They even the "Jacksons", out sold Elvis . Michael was never ever shy to me,I was more him. I think the only time ,he may be embarrass ,was when we was coming down the elevator from his apartment,doing the filming of the "Wiz". He was riding or seeing me off the elevator. There was fans waiting in the lobby,he never got off the elevator. I said where is my kiss goodnight 🤣,I always look dead at him. He 💋me on the side of my cheeks 😂. I said no Michael the lips,he said your putting me on the spot!! I looked at the fans 3 of them. About this time ,some figure out where he lived in New York. It was about the month if October 1977. I remember because Toya went ,to visit a fake so called friend . It is what Michael said to me. It turned him off ,girls befriending Toya to get close to him. Michael although he is polite ,they all are basically in public.. Done of them is stupid and they learn many things from their father and Larry Jackson . Yes I knew them all and Mr. Jackson ,Papa Joe was awesome and will always have my respect. He had a hell of Michael' s respect,before they git un his head. Even Latoya was not afraid of him,in fact they looked up to him and if anybody threaten them,who you think they called? That why it trips be out opinion not facts .🤷

I've only seen little bits and pieces of this interview but I NEVER saw the whole thing until now and let me just say......wow. Time totally stands still for this man!! Is it ok if I have more than 3 favorite songs from this album? Here are my favorites in no order:
1. Rock With You = Like you said, MJfangirl, Michael may be gone from this world but this song helps us know that his legacy lives forever on. And it's always performed live so well!! It will never get old for me.
2. Off The Wall = Michael's voice is so fun in this song. Love it, love it, love it!!!
3. It's The Falling In Love = You took the words outta my mouth, MJfangirl! I agree!!
4. Burn This Disco Out = A lot of fans say they don't like this song and I do not understand why. I think it's an amazing song!!! Michael's saying to the listener, "Before I get outta here, I just gotta get you up on the dance floor again one more time." COME ON!!

Also, I would like to commend you for giving me that last bit of inspiration to finally read Michael's book "Moonwalk"(I've been intending to get around to it for like forever...lol). Love this vid! I believe the clips were last leg of the destiny tour triumph tour was little later. The crazy thing listening to him talk about not being able to interact with people...and this is PRE thriller! Imagine how he felt then!!! Off the wall era is a wholeeeee vibeeeee i swear. Not only the tour, I wish I knew the truth about his "death" I still believe he began planning his "escape" in 2006, he was comfortable on stage, being he's been on a stage since he got out of diapers pretty much, right now he's 65 and I'm sure he's beyond done and tired of that life, I wish I was apart of his life ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ he's just exhausted but I do believe he's alive and well ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊

Well i was way too young. That interview was in the year that i was born witch is 1980 so i couldn't go to any live shows Infcat i never been to any of the Jacksons or Michael Jackson's live shows that's one thing that I regret. I never got the chance to Michael Jackson live before he passed. It would have been nice to see my Virgo twin in concert. 😪 and yes iam apart of everyone that has streeaned Off The Wall & all his other music as well. My favorite from Off The Wall is I Can't Help It written by Steve Wonder.
