While the cheese is somewhat melted, it seems not hot enough. And that’s because the chimney is at the top, thus letting much of the heat out. The chimney should have been more towards the front. That way the oven retains much more of the heat, while letting the smoke out
The flue pipe should be near the front it's letting way to much heat out also wouldn't it be better if there was coals under the food & the chicken cooked on a trivet above the hot coals to cook it thoroughly
@@denisedavies3575 yes i believe you're right about the chimney being towards the front but No I don't think the coals should have to be under the food Because if it is done right it will heat up the entire area And the cement and brick area and can take up to 48 hours to effectively cool down Completely. Marvelous design and a very good way to give that broken jar a new life. You are good amigo, keep the good work. Thanks for this amazing idea. Greetings from Toronto.
Yes, it is crucial. If you put the pipe in the inlet, the hot air will be forced to travel the upper part of the interior of the oven, heating the surface a lot. So you will improve your pizza oven because you will have heating by convection, conduction and radiation. Like in an expensive chef electric oven.
Pretty cool! My only change I would have made is to either use smoother facing bricks on top or take the time to smooth out the ridges inside the oven. 10:47 those ridges would make cleaning out the ashes hard to do. Other than that, really cool! Thanks for the vid.
Looks very nice. Only changes I would make would be to have a sheet of 3/8 inch thick steel and a layer of pearlite filled cement over the concrete span instead of bricks and use a refractory mortar on the inside.
All that work for a 8" pizza! Looking at him lay the brick down, I thought the lower portion would be for the fire and it would heat up the stone/brick and the entire jar would be for baking. The jar was already low on space. Adding charcoal just makes it even smaller.
Very nice but too small great job!👈 My father done it with refractory bricks like an igloo you know and when i was 8 or 9 years old i could go inside. We had a restaurant pizzeria. Even was big my mom put allways just one pizza and she said they must have plenty embers around too not just in deep for a better cook. So anyway in this case they must turn the pizza one time i think it's enough
pretty but too little space inside because of the thick inner walls to properly move the coals out of the way. the pizza should be able to be moved deep inside so it gets radiant heat that is stored in the walls a thin piece of metal at a removable door is not going to provide that extra heat when it is barely inside the cavity.
Great job 👏🏽. Sincerely. It’s funny how some watched but then criticized as if they could do what you did and have the courage to put it out there for all to see. 😂. Crazies.
READ THIS FIRST: The chimney needs to be further towards the fronts and that will allow the heat to pass over the food before it escapes. The chimney is directly over the fire so the heat goes straight up. It will be very difficult to reach very high temps without a raging fire. Always look at the design of commercial or even higher end home units and understand how pizza overs work. This is a nice idea but executed poorly. Also layer the floor with actual fire bricks. You'll have an authentic floor for pizza and baking. You can buy the from a Stone store.
I was thinking the same about the chimney. Wrong place. Have a look at Italian pizza ovens on UA-cam. They are very popular. Your oven idea is good, just needs a little tweaking.
A very creative oven, great for inspiration and learning the basics! This oven can’t accommodate and cook large amounts of food anyway because it’s small and the food to be prepared won’t fit under the embers! An arched furnace can be easily built by paying close attention to the furnaces of the peoples of Italy or other countries! For example, I only want to build a furnace out of plain mud and clay! Economical operation requires a larger oven size for many baking! The oven is economical if you don't always have to reheat it! The heat always stays in the oven for a long time !!I wish everyone a nice pleasant day in good health! 👍L👀i📸k🍙e🔥!🍘🍀👆
Should of used refractory mortar it’s made for high heat, direct heat and fire; it’s used in making fire bricks, the mortar is the same mix. Regular cement will expand and contract with heat and cold. If moisture is trapped inside the cement it will spall the cement (break apart)

you built it nicely. but this is not a pizza oven! For a pizza oven you need a floor that is as smooth as possible with lava bricks. In addition, the oven cavity is too small, the firewood needs a lot of space on the left side so that the pizza can be placed in the middle and on the right. and by the way, an italian would never make pizza on a tray. for pizza you also need a temperature sensor to bring the oven to at least 250-300 degrees of heat.
Beautiful craftsmanship. But, too small to be practical, and as others mentioned, it should have insulation or you will be using up a lot of wood and overheating the room as well. Would love to see a larger version 2 with some if the best recommendations from the comments. Good job.

Beautiful craftsmanship. But, too small to be practical, and as others mentioned, it should have insulation or you will be using up a lot of wood and overheating the room as well. Would love to see a larger version 2 with some if the best recommendations from the comments. Good job.

"too small to be practical" ...who gives a shit if it's "practical" anyway.

Very beautiful job! Creative
Thank you very much
I would have placed a smooth stone surface inside the oven to allow you to use a pizza peel and ensure a crisp crust, otherwise GREAT!
