101% agreed macros in S1 are a rocking feature. Once you get turned on to this, and as you said notice places where it could apply, your production and mix/master life will change. At the same time, it would be great to see PreSonus add some meaningful features to this tool. Just some simple recording, chaining and control logic would go a long way. Thanks for the great S1 content.
Ryzen 3600, 6 core 12 thread CPU, 32gb RAM, 2 TB SSD (split between 2 SSDs). I’m still using a GTX970 from an old build, but I don’t game much anymore so it doesn’t matter haha
Macros seem cool in S1 but can you do Cycle actions or Cycle Commands/macros in S1 like Reaper? Cycle Action in Reaper basically lets you have different macros assigned to the same hotkey and certain macros activate based on certain situations. So like being able to have IF, Else, OR etc type conditional statements. Its not really a new feature for Reaper. Reaper has had custom action, macros and cycle actions for like 15+ years now.
Macros serve professional engineers and producers much more than bedroom producers! You don't really need macros if you're only working on a couple of songs! Most bedroom producers don't have contractual deadlines to meet so there's no need to speed up the mixing process.
You make a good point, but I disagree! The faster you can get something done, the more creative you can be! It keeps you in the flow and better songs come from it!
You're killin' it, Brother!
I’ve learned a load of workflow tips from your Saturday series - thank you for taking the time to share 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
I agree! I learnt how to easily treat your room without spending any money from his course, he has solutions and he simplifies them❤
AYYYYYYYYY! Hope you enjoyed the video! You can get my free Studio One Presets Here!

Reaper has a pretty powerful macro function. But i don't use it lol need to explore this concept so thanks for the reminder
I’m so glad I use S1. I need to use macros more. I guess I don’t really have a workflow yet (I’m a noob).
We all were a noob at some point hahahaha

Good stuff as always!
I just subscribed and look forward to discovering more tutorials from you. Would you consider doing a video on the FX chains feature?
thx!
Absolutely! I’ll add that to my list!
Thank you so much for this information ❤
Awesome video. But I'd like to know if there is a way to apply effects to the input channels before recording :)
Is it possible to assign midi controller to shortcuts?
What are your PC specification?

It doest hurt if the work completes earlier as the bed is free to sleep after work for bedroom producers 😂
Nobody uses? I use loads of them.
Yeah the title might be a bit of a stretch haha. But most of my students don’t use them. So I was like “yeah I need to make a video on this” hahahaha
"Most powerful feature that nobody uses" That's ridiculous... 😂😂
😂😂😂 bro I wish I was joking. A lot of people don’t use macros. Especially people that have left other DAWs to come to Studio One.
