    Thank you for addressing this. As a mental health nurse the Stigma is strong in the churches sadly

    Massive respect for addressing this. I hope folks realize that the numbers don't lie. This IS a real thing. For despair to drive one to self harm, it just hurts me to my soul to consider it. It also reminds me how on the cross, God Himself felt all of it and endured it all for us and for our salvation.
    God bless!

      Spiritual life is related to the psychological one but they are not the same. And you should go to Church! 😅

    Thank you Father, I also read a report where marijuana use is also linked to psychosis, im in California where this government legalized marijuana use years ago, I sadly wonder if this is also why california has such a homeless and mental health issues. God have mercy

      Yes there’s a link between drugs and psychosis… at least from what I know. We have the same issue in Canada with the legalization of marijuana

    Present the solution. If you affirm the mental illness model, which one? What is defined as sound mental health, what constitutes a disorder as opposed to a difference, and what mental illness is will vary drastically based upon the geographical location you are located. So, what model of mental illness are you suggesting we adopt?
    Just saying go pray in a corner doesn't help, so what does?

    Can anyone says isiah 46:5,6 and Trinity

    • @Sahih_al-Bukhari_2658
      @Sahih_al-Bukhari_2658 2 місяці тому

      Yes, the trinity is compatible with these verses. Christians affirm there’s 1 God. Isaiah 46:5 is condemning idol worship. The previous and following verses make this clear.

    From experience, it was exactly the call to take personal responsibility and to live out the meaningful purpose that God created us for, that got me out of a depressed state. While we should be loving and encouraging, it is dangerous to treat depression as an illness that you just happen to develop or catch by chance, because in many cases medical intervention only serves to numb the symptoms and not solve the root cause.
    I realise this is only a snippet, so forgive me if this is already addressed

      Yes of course sometimes spiritual healing will lead to psychological healing as well because they are connected. But there still not the same. Often people are given spiritual medicine to address real psychological issues which are not the root problem. These are the ones being discussed here. God bless

      I agree that finding purpose and agency can help dramatically. But I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to get up and go, to change my whole life, and I got tripped up again by some element of my illness.
      And honestly, you and I probably don't grasp just how profoundly disabling some of the hardest mental illnesses can be. If you have two broken legs I'd never tell you to just be determined and go for a walk (setting aside the possibilities of a miracle).
      It can be just as unhelpful to take that approach with certain mental health sufferers.
      There's also this: some illnesses are better served by one modality over another, which may worsen things. Discerning which treatment is best both a science and an art. Some folks may need to get up and move, be active, volunteer. Others need something more traditional.
