Thanks!
Thank you Nancy, your the first one to use the Super Thanks on my Channel!
@@WideWorldofTrains not a problem glad to do it
The old Chessie system paint scheme was so much nicer and more colorful. And it was nice on the cab that it had what railroad it was from. I still think the sleeping kitten symbol is so cool.
Roll it!!! Another great locomotive 🚂 video dreaming bout Casey Jones!!!
I love the first NS train, the engineer is funny trying to get the grade blast in on as many crossings as he could. I remember as a kid watching a CSX coming through pine Bluff and the engineer just held on the J valve for a mile because we had so many grade crossings he didnt feel like trying to do the standard grade blast. 😊
Yes there's like 8 crossings in 3/4 of a mile here and they all have gates
I can't get enough of that k5lla horn on the aces. Love your videos. I have you, Jaw Tooth, Jason Aselin, Distant Signal, and Delay in Block as my favorite railroad channels.
Good choice!
What about the railroad archeologist? He is good too.
@@krakenwoodfloorservicemcma5975 I have not heard of that channel.
NS 206 was an awesome view thru those crossings and finally with that lead locomotive coming right into the camera and looking so huge!
Glad you enjoyed it
I never knew there was a UA-camr that would cover trains. I stumbled upon this clip randomly and it got me curious because ever since I was a kid I always loved trains not the toy versions the actual real trains and I still do to this day. So thank you sir for showing these random video clips of different trains I enjoy it keep it coming with more of them 👍👍
Thanks in glad you found my channel 😀
I used to see freight trains go by my grandma’s house. I would leave a few Penny’s on the rails to get them squashed! I kept them for many years, but they disappeared on me. The tracks ran maybe 30 feet from her yard…always interesting to see the shape of penny’s afterwards.
I really enjoy your Train Videos 📹 ☺, keep up the awesome 👌 Work , and Thank you 😊!!!!
Glad you like them!
25:29 That heavy lift car is very cool - thanks for sharing a great find !
Another great video you had a little bit of everything love the close up on the first two trains
Glad you enjoyed it
You never cease to amaze me and my son with your videos. Keep em coming!
Thank you! Will do!
MONSTER HORN ON THAT ACE I LOVE IT!!
Double pleasure! One NYC caboose, and the Long Island cab was the cherry,on top of the icing! Always surprises, never a dull moment!!! THANK YOU 😇!
Glad you enjoyed it!
After this video you can help the Channel by watching another one of my videos and comment on it and giving it a Thumbs Up! Thanks! ua-cam.com/users/WideWorldofTrainsvideos
wasnt that car featured in another one of your videos? WWoT?
Do not hump and DPU alright. Great combination.
20:25 - okay thats badass you got to hear the fruits of your good deed to calling in the malfunctioning gate!
Awesome job Wide World of Trains! Have an amazing day!
Thanks! You too!
@@WideWorldofTrains 👍 anytime
Awesome video WWOT. That NS 206
head on shot was pretty cool, just imagine if it was in 3D. Heads up on
That malfunctioning gate, good job.
I’ve seen that “do not hump” boxcar
before never knew what it was for.
Really enjoy your videos, thanks. DPU alright 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🚂
Geometry box car, takes measurements of the tracks as it moves
@@WideWorldofTrains thanks
My step uncle was an engineer on the Chicago and North Western. So I grew up around the trains. So I knew enough to look in all directions before setting foot on the tracks. I also knew enough to listen for the whistle. Only when there was no headlight, ditch light or whistle would we walk the tracks.
And as dumb as it is for a car to go around the crossing gates when a train is coming; it is even stupider for a semi truck to do that, as there is no way in he double tooth picks that he can beat that train. I know, I use to haul all those Swift truck trailers around.
We there has been a couple crossings in the Batavia area that have malfunctioned several times finally all fixed and good as new another great video wwot awesome mix of trains 🚆 😀 👍 DPU Alright Roll it
Interesting!
@@WideWorldofTrains yes sir very interesting but I'm also happy they are finally fixed
I like train videos videos on UA-cam jawtooth
Amazing how well trains display the doppler effect!
This will be a great premiere
Those malfunctioning crossing gates remind me of being fooled into thinking a train was approaching. That's happened a few times. Thanks for the great video !
A rare Union Pacific with flashing ditchlights Awesome!
Ex Southern Pacific unit. The ac4400cw and c44-9w from SP has em before UP bought out SP.
I've seen in some european videos crossings with four gates to prevent drive arounds, don't know if they have any here in the U.S. Nice job reporting the crossing gate malfunction. Great video.
Yeah, in California theres quite a ton here in the Bay Area.
usually, 4 gate crossings you only really find them on rails where passenger trains run sometime you will find then inside of cities where enough citizens complained about the train horns that they decided to make then quiet zones
we call 4 gated crossings quiet zone crossings because trains dont have to sound their horn usually they are federally mandated to sound the horn at every grade crossing. You can make them into what we call quiet zones which means trains dont have to use their horn unless something is on the tracks. in order to make a quiet zone you need to increase the safety of a crossing either by having an extended medium with gates, having 4 point gates, 2 point gates and a wayside horn, and i think lastly is to outright close the crossing
Isn't it weird how the headlights reflection on the rails make the rails look like they are on fire?
I had that very same thought. I loved it!
They must be going 88
It must be because that the headlights are super hot and it reflects to the tracks and it somehow makes it looks like it’s on fire. Hope your on the same page as me.
I saw that too
Wow great channel I don’t know how I missed your channel but I found it and I subscribed today thanks for Sharing 😀👍
Thanks Sean appreciate it
I tip my hat to everyone riding in and operating a locomotive. The confidence to rocket down a rail with all that mass and having faith in the technology and that some numbskull won't drive out onto the track at a crossing is impressive.
Thanks! Great video as always. I will send these thanks when I can.
Thanks appreciate your support
It's awesome how you do the video it looks like the train on this one was on on the very first one was ready to run us over perfect camera clear thank you from Kentucky
It's interesting to see when things are broke, as always DPU alright!
Hey wwot! I am back to watching your videos, sorry I haven't watched em lately, but this one is very good, love how the rare UP Train had flashing ditch lights and a k3la
Welcome back!
Ex SP making it special and rare.
always good shot
hope you're feeling much better than you used to cuz I know when you got sick you were really feeling rough hope you're feeling okay now
Thanks I'm better
🚂🚂🚂🚂🚂=😁😁😁😁😁
W on the sign post means the engineer should sound his horn
Well made video . Could you please include much more signal shots as we like to see what the crews see as they approach . Thanks .
That walking on the tracks is a caboose lol
Nice job, catching trains and be safe out there when railfanning please
Thanks, will do!
Good thing school didn't let out when the crossing gate was messed up. I can't picture a bus going around the gates
I have a Bus crossing as the gates go down in todays video up later
Great premiere and May the 4th be with you
Boy u really got me watching the same trains that u see....down here in Utica NY.. Dpu alright lol
DPU ALRIGHT!!!! Love this channel.
The woman on the tracks is a fashionista I bet :) I bet the RR gets a crew out fairly quickly for that crossing problem. I notice that local is always pushing notch 8 - that's cool!
Hey
An SUV bypassed the gate
There's always an A Hole behind the wheel somewhere! Excellent vid!!
Nice location for the long head-on shot, with many grade crossings for lots of whistle action.
Great videos as always 🙂👍
One time my dad was coming back to my home after getting something at the store, and stopped at a crossing because of a train. However, my dad was at that crossing for like 30 minutes because the crossing gates were still down but the train was long gone. He eventually went around the gates.
great video! I just missed the 206 and 22K in Dunkirk I was gonna get it but I didn't think it'd come for another hour or two. Had I known it was coming I would've probably gotten it in Dunkirk, honestly maybe where you were or the crossing next to it (Lord Street), lol
Nice one
Thanks 🔥
Your Welcome
Wish people could be aware of just how dangerous. It is walk on the tracks!!!
I wouldn't do it anymore, but when I was a kid, I walked the tracks A LOT!!!
First time seeing a Union Pacific engine with FLASHING DITCH LIGHTS!!😮
Funny how the Federal Railroad Administration permits older enginesto operate with originally-installed ceossing warning lights. Engines built with oscillating or Mars lights do not need ditch lights. Steam engines are not required to have any lights besides the headlight unless they were built with Mars or oscillating lights. Any engine which does not exceed 20 mph through a road crossing at grade is not required to have any auxiliary lights.
It was a locomotive built for the Southern Pacific in there last years
The rest of the video is all good catch!
Nice! I’ve seen the WWOT C&D car on Long Island New York!
No way. Did u get a pic?
Wow credit given smart fella! Maybe its the racing red paintjob that inspires engineers but most CP trains i see are going at a fast clip; I did notice this one slowing... as I'm wondering 'why' you go on you explain why. Thank you kindly professor!
Neat, informative video. Out of curiosity, what is the Do Not Hump car. Continue to share your knowledge. Have a nice day.
Thanks, will do!
They are unmanned remote track inspection equipment
Also a pure green BN covered hopper is pretty rare I think. Most are badly
Faded by now .
BNSF Alright! Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Couldn't help but think the railwalker could have had the same view your camera had, very close to the UP engine. What is the fine for trespassing on the tracks in your area? Great video, especially liked your concerned citizen phone call about the malfunctions. Stay safe out there.
Yes it was
About €150.00, if you get caught. You should be caught in the act. No camera images.
@@ceesvolkers6969 thanks for sharing your info from Europe
In Iowa I found out it can be 100 dollars and up,depending on what type of trespassing, but at least 100 plus for on the tracks.

Not sure what you mean with your reply. Was that a sum of I'm assuming English currency. Got that from John Bull appellation.
great Premiere
Thanks for coming
How can you just smell a train and know everything about it like where it’s from and stuff that’s really cool
I guess she was listening to walk. On the wild side of tracks lol
I see the leaves are coming on the trees I do miss the snow
Awesome Catches!
Great video.
As a New Yorker who takes the Subway.
MTA has a Saying. "If you see something, say something "
You saw something at a NS railroad gate ( Malfunction) and said something. I'm guessing calling NS and reporting it. Any way not smart for that person walking on RR tracks. It is dangerous.
Always DPU Alright. BNSF pulling oil cars Alright
When the police called headquarters they replied NS already has a ticket for it..crew on the way
Interesting video. Great job! DPU Alright!
Glad you enjoyed it
I actually watch the wide world of the trains but I do not know what a hump car is so I’m ready to inquire about That
Geometry box car, takes measurements of the tracks as it moves
phew i made it!
What do u mean?
As I can see, one gate light is about to fall off as you zoomed into the crossing gate as first train NS 206 went by from beginning of the video!
Could be
I see that Union Pacific is starting to install flashing ditch lights on their engines and that's honestly cool! I don't really understand people's logic of walking on train tracks like it's a sidewalk. The things people do now
I'm not so sure about that one. I've seen one up unit in all my years of service that flash like that. Perhaps it's captive agreement power that is used on NS. UP and CP or have a cross border agreement where they share power and the up units are equiped with some Canadian items like a hot plate for coffee. Very unusual. Kind of like the sand train video on WWT when i saw a up unit with two red lights mounted high above the windows. I've never seen that.
@@BossSpringsteen69 huh ok 👍
Actually if the UP locomotive has flashing ditchlights it came from an ex southern pacific locomotive SP had flashing ditchlights on their locomotives before UP bought them and they still kept them this is only for some former SP units tho.
@@alpharailroadproductions bingo
They're not installing ditch lights on their locomotives, the units with flashing ditch lights are just former SP.
People with no patience become patients......!!! Wwot good evening !!!!
Awesome catches!!! Is that a diamond and Another split train off to the side on the first two trains?
NS CSX branch line diamond
That engineer in that first train was just cruising. Good audio too sound like he had it about run level five.
11:01 i recognize that loco's number it's the same one that is usually shunting in a town called Covington when I go by...... In Virginia replaced by another engine last month either that or they re-numbered em
That was cool to your name on the train car...
Hope they fixed that gate. Looks like the motor jammed as all the others were coming up.
Very nice catches my friend
17:17 (full view at 17:19) Hub Group 50th Anniversary container. I’ve seen some of these myself. If I was on BNSF, I would not see them.
Holy cow you caught a ex southern pacific leader 6328 is a ex sp unit
that train in the intro was caboose alright
Awesome video!!!
Beautiful video!!
Thank you very much!
lots of cool things on those mixed freights old school hoppers and boxs you never know what you may see. i look forward to seeing those too many containers and tanks lately. Thats all i see now all these single and dbl stacks every train except maybe a few others here i would say 80% are containers on all roads.
Hey WWOT next time if a gate stays down just push it up and hopefully it catches and stays up.
Did anyone show up while you were filming to fix the crossing gate?
The best case scenario. If I ever see that happen in Florida I would get warning flags from Lowe's FYI two of them hold him in each hand if the railroad crossing malfunctions and if the train comes and if it doesn't go down or go up wave the two warning flags to let them know to stop
Very Vince trains my friend
At 7:09 did that train run over the girl walking down the tracks?
Hey what camera do you use?
Wow that's odd, I have never seen a Union Pacific locomotive that has flashing ditchlights.
Was very surprised those 2 trains AFTER you called in the malfunctioning crossing signals and gates didn't stop before the crossing, conductor get off the loco, flag crossing, clear train for moving across crossing, the climb back on the loco and continue.
Every time I called in a malfunctioning crossing signal and gates, CSX and Amtrak trains always did what I stated above.
I was really surprised those trains didn't do that, but just went on over the crossing like everything was functioning normally, even though they weren't!
Never seen a Do Not Hump car before in all my years of railfanning, can't do it any longer due to no longer drive after going legally blind.
But I'd sure like to know more about those Do Not Hump cars, what's there purpose and how are they utilized? Have any video on those things?
Rare see union Pacific locomotive ditch light flashing
Hope they came out and fixed the broken crossing gate. And I agree with you 💯 why on earth would someone be walking down the tracks with the gates down and the lights are flashing, that usually indicates a train is coming down the tracks. I think they left their brains at home.
Good question!
13:00 this is a quote I heard from another channel but I do believe it applies hear " he ain't gonna make it up the hill" assuming there's atleast some hill along the track if not a hill there's probably a light grade change
ChainsawN&W1218, Yeah I agree with You,pedestrians don't need to walk on any RR tracks especially a high speed main line, crazy ,unfortunately alot of people get killed walking the tracks and in vehicles, it's happened alot near places where I film.
Wide world of trains I got to ask u a question what is purple haze i have seen it on virtual railfan channel in the night time where u can see it and it is near the conducters windows let me know if u no the answer thank u
The Purple Haze is caused by dynamic braking system. The DBS switches the polarity in the traction motors on the axle. This makes them basically into generators creating drag on the axles. It's that power being discharged that creates the purple glow. I'm not exactly sore of how that process works. This system is usually used to provide a secondary braking system on downgrades.
Quiet zones and high speed corridors are set with 4 gates.
great video bro
Glad you enjoyed
