Excavator Track Split on an Old Hitachi 150
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лип 2024
- Cam and his trusty apprentice, Carson, get ready to do an excavator track split on that Hitachi 150 Excavator. They bust out the oxyacetylene torch to cut out the cotter pin before moving on to beating the absolute sh*t out of it with a sledgehammer. When in doubt, sledge it out.

Good job juggling your responsibilities Cam. Alot goes into the mundane. God bless the whole crew, for pulling it off.
Thanks for watching Brad. Great to see you in the comments again. Are you a mechanic too?
@@TekamoHD tractors and trailers over here. PM guy for a large fleet in New England.
It's comforting to know that, if I ever get bored of working in a nice, clean, sheltered aircraft hangar, there's a job waiting for me, out in the mud, rain and snow like these 2 legends. Great job getting it done in tough conditions!

DOU-CONE SEAL?? LOVE YOUR VIDS JUST WHAT I NEED TO SEE:)
Clean that torch tip!
No cordless Grinder? Works for me. Brushless Dewalt. Huge improvement over the old style. Slap on a cutting disc and your done
How much coffee do you guys drink? Keep up the great work :)
Please introduce him to a air chisel.
Where did you get those earplugs? needing a good set.
If u see a hitachi machine it’s probably clapped
Slightly off topic but , do you have a chain press for splitting track links? If so , what style/brand do you use?
Merry Christmas 🎄
Cat/OTC works very well for the many 345-352 tracks I've split.
I don't use a track press, even on larger equipment where a 150T would be required. I've done up to a Hitachi EX700 with out a press, we got some tricks, call us hacks but as an independent without an unlimited corporate budget, sometimes you just gotta "$@#* with the @#&$ you got".
Maybe one day I'll purchase something but I learned this way and after using a press at the dealer, I'm faster splitting my way than setting up the press.
@@BluTechEquipment I’m probably going build one ,I’ve got a 1/2 dozen pins and bushings to do on my machine… figured a press would be easier.
It’s an old Cat 215 on our family farm , not really worth anything.
Tell that apprentice to run or walk fast
You should've took the browser off you could have gotten to it
What coveralls you guys wearing?
Dude, I've been watching your vids, humor is great, BUT, DAM "get it done"!!!! You guys don't have C frame track press???
Is this a comedy channel?…I don’t ever think I’ve seen such a helpless helper
Where is part 3?

That torch tip does not sound good Cam. And yes, hose or wire handles are great for pin-punches.
Yea the nice part with the hose chunk is being able to swap out ends on the same handle, easier to store a bunch of different size drifts and one handle.
I don't think my acetylene was high enough, usually what causes popping and backfires. I typically run 14/40, 14 psi acetylene and 40 psi ogen. Popping is especially noticeable with rose buds as they demand high gas flow.
Mine sounds like that when slag gets in there.
But isn't Alberta a bit chilly to work in with nothing but the cab to warm up in?
I'm basically as far north as it gets and 95% of us use vans, while the rest uses boxtrucks.
@@Tmjpwns You run your own truck? Shoot us some pics if you're a contractor, we'd love to see it!
short hose and a dirty tip who does this guy think he is
your apprentice rode on the short bus lmfao
Ever notice that the guy wearing his cap correctly is mentoring the youung un who is wearing his cap like a fireman's helmet. See this everywhere.
Excellent concept, just need to work on the editing. Less is more. Adjust the track, position the truck, torch the pin. Cut out all the filler, and improve the audio pickup and you'll have 1M subscribers with 500K views per video.
Cam should get a raise! He has to deal with Carson.......
