Is Albuquerque Safe? OR Is Albuquerque a Dangerous City to live in? Check out this video to hear what a long time local thinks about Albuquerque being safe, and you wont want to miss the end of this video!
Thanks for the video, I worry about moving to Albuquerque I never heard of anything bad before until 3 year's ago from locals. I live in CA and I'm trying to decide where to move in NM I'm looking for affordability and job's.
I love our city! We have so much diversity, beautiful land, every opportunity needed, and a wonderful population. We do have trouble... But like you said, it depends on if you are looking for it.
The neighborhoods that I get scared when I drive through are Martinez Town, Barrelez, San Jose, and the International District. I know there are more, but like I said, I stay away in my little corner of the far NE heights ❤
Even if you live in a relatively safe area, you can hear gun shots at a distance or stray bullet hitting your house. Many streets do not have street lights and that includes some main streetd in Southwest. Many drivers drives very fast as well. And police takes a long time to respond.
Realtors like this who make videos can give good info about a city which I appreciate, but realize they are biased in saying it is great, safe, crime is not a problem etc because their business depends on it. Just good to keep in mind.
Thanks for your opinion man! Realtor or not, I can truly say it’s a safe city because I have lived here for 30 years with no problems. I have plenty of business whether people move here or not, so this is not to convince anyone to move here (actually quite the opposite, I liked ABQ being a smaller town but it’s growing at a rapid rate without my help). I am just here to educate from a locals perspective and experience rather than mainstream media and national skewed statistics, that’s all!
Dude I’m basing ABQ crime off the reports of it. It seems random and usually at the hands of meth addicts. Not all of us can avoid “the bad areas” some of us live and work in the bad area. You need to acknowledge the random crime and the meth problem. I live in Denver and I tried to act like It wasn’t bad until I was stabbed In the neck in the middle of downtown. It’s not an insult to locals or people like you. You’re a good person, and your city is nice in theory. But meth addiction affect us all unfortunately, since addicts can just attack. Again not attacking you, and you’re right crime is everywhere but also in ABQ. @@livinginalbuquerquenewmexi9127
The crime in other cities has motive. Most of the time in ABQ, the police are like “they were on meth we have no other motive”. Again I know these people are in bad areas of town, but the downtown has plenty of homeless. That’s just a fact. There’s camps and to say “Just avoid the bad parts” is dumb when that includes your cities downtown 😂@@livinginalbuquerquenewmexi9127
You are very welcome. Let me know if you nave any questions or would like me to set you up on a home search and I would be glad to do so. All my contact info is in the description section. I have a friend that just moved back home to ABQ from LA because he was worried about crime out there, so I think you will like it here.
I’m staying in the airport area due to the reviews of high crime in the downtown area. Is it safe? I’m so worried hearing so much negative things about the area!
@@lyrastrseed3343 yeah the airport is plenty fine to stay at! The NE heights, NW, Rio Rancho and lots of other areas are very safe as well. Feel free to shoot me a text if you would like to hop on a call!
@@Ricobaca I'm sorry to hear this, I want to move out there but not sure what are good areas since I don't know any of the cities. I'm in California it's so expensive, too much traffic, I visited Albuquerque year's ago, all I know is SE is mentioned as a bad part of Albuquerque
Steffan, I'm so glad I've discovered your channel! I live in Madison WI and have visited NM and ABQ numerous times over the years and am FINALLY planning a move to ABQ in April. Your videos are such a great resource. I will likely be in touch with you the coming months. Can't wait to be one with the Land of Enchantment! Cheers!

There was a shootout at my apartment complex. It was a safe neighborhood but I was told it is common. ABQ living…
Thanx for this I wanna buy a home there and was unsure of the crime rate there, it can’t be as bad as LA tho
