Even if you live in a relatively safe area, you can hear gun shots at a distance or stray bullet hitting your house. Many streets do not have street lights and that includes some main streetd in Southwest. Many drivers drives very fast as well. And police takes a long time to respond.

I have lived in Albuquerque, NYC and Raleigh. All blue cities run by Democrats are not pleasant places to live. High property taxes, crime and filth. "Green Acres is the place for me!"

The neighborhoods that I get scared when I drive through are Martinez Town, Barrelez, San Jose, and the International District. I know there are more, but like I said, I stay away in my little corner of the far NE heights ❤

Does the large amount of sunlight per year ever get annoying? I'm thinking about relocating and I'm coming from a place with 160 sunny days per year--I definitely have issues with depression that are related to the weather. But does the sunshine ever get tiresome?

I’ve considered going to NM I work for an airline and they’re often hiring in Albuquerque so I could transfer with a job but it’s not a high-paying job so I’d need alternate income (I teach tennis). My lady hopefully could get a job and help out too. I. Any afford to live in the nice places but cannot live in the bad places. Live in an RV? Perhaps

I’m moving from Atlanta Ga to Albuquerque and I know it’s going to be a culture shock. My new boss loves my accent, but she barely can understand me. I’m just hope that there’s something to do on everyday of the week like it is in Atlanta. I feel like I’m going to love it tho.

Thanks for sharing. Any tiny house communities in your area or in Utah or Arizona? There is one in B.C. and in Ontario, here in Canada. I would just love to be closer to Mexico, eat tacos and see cacti.

I just compared travis county TX to Sandoval county and just property and income taxes alone make NM about 30% more expensive to live, so you might want to look at your figures again. The combined sales tax is 0.69% less than TX, but that's not enough to compensate for the other combined taxes.

I’m considering moving to Albuquerque soon but I’m on a real cheap budget due to having battled severe mold illness which wrecked my health previously. I’m in Colorado and I’m wondering what info you have that might be super helpful. I reconnected with my high school sweetheart and we’re super connected and still have emotions flying high after 26yrs. Can you help me with literally anything about Albuquerque? Literally anything will help. Thank you for sharing with us.

First time going to Albuquerque I went down town just checking out the city it was around 6pm , man oh man I saw homeless drug addicts that looked like they had clothes on from the 70's and 80's like shirts you'd see on old movies , bell bottom type pants , they started flocking together seemingly out of no where. I started to get nervous they acted like they didn't see me ,but something told me to get the hell out of there.

Here are some since I've been in Albuquerque for almost most of my life (20+ years). Not much racism and yes everyone is friendly but there will be some stupid's out there that will discriminate you or just want fight you just because. The food is fantastic so tip your waiters/waitress. Crime is a problem because of the laws that were placed by our lovely politician (please make sure you vote them out), the women here are beautiful including the landscape the rez dogs (keep your distance), and make sure to check out the native's feast days but please with all due respect no cameras. Thank you for your time and remember... STAY HYDRATED!!!
