It's good to see a good movie that's not Hollywooded to death. The music is low-key. The cinematography is great and I'm glad I found it. So much junk on UA-cam, free or pay.

Enjoyed it. Realistic, understated style. Shows you don't need a massive budget and flashy effects to make a good film.
I'm glad someone else agrees that to make a good movie it's about storyline and how well its acted not like you said " big budget effects aren't needed all the time " I know it's a totally different movie but the movie Platoon was low budget and it won 4 or 5 academy awards.
Story, dialogue and acting alone can make a great film...

If the scenes were not so dragged out, if the key actors didn't speak so slow, if they didn't repeat the same thoughts and ideas so many times, this movie could've been done in 20 minutes, 25 tops.... Yet I watched it till the very end.
The opening scenes are electric! Eyes are glued to the screen. 7:40 Great acting and chemistry between the reporter and policeman. ty 4 upload

I can only imagine how much hard work goes into making any film, let alone something complex like detective noir genre with all the complications of homicide investigation and the environment homicide detectives work and live in. This is a very good movie, even more so when you consider it is not a big budget Hollyweird backed production. 👏👏👏💥🤚💥

About 1/2way through… really like this film. Love detective movies in general. This is a good movie for late at night or early morning; it’s very calming, almost an extended meditation- at least the first half.. i like that it’s not in a hurry but still maintains interest and suspense. Don’t find many films like it- unfortunately the frequent ads break the mood. I gotta get YT premium🙄; i don’t want to but i got to…🤷🏻Ty for an excellent film.

I enjoyed that very much. Tension, very little violence, and a soundtrack that supported the action ( wonder of wonders ) instead of waging war on it. A fine movie.

I was watching this movie on a small DVD player driving across the Mojave desert on I-15. The movie was so slow and boring, I woke up just seconds after my car impacted a large rock. I almost was killed. The movie was still playing in the passenger seat. After cleaning off the broken glass and unfastening my seatbelt, I continued to watch the movie until help arrived. I woke up in a hospital bed in Barstow, CA. The doctors told me that I was knocked out by watching this boring movie. He told me that other paramedics tried to watch the movie while saving me but they found their bodies unconscious as well. This movie should be sold as the best sleeping medication ever! God, I can't see how anybody could stay awake watching two minutes of this plot. The soundtrack will definitely knock you out...and quick!!! Everything is soooooo sloooowwwww and booooorrrrinnnnggggggg! Black and White slow mo!!!

Four million is a great deal of money but my point of view in society is I'd rather be poor than do something illegal. I truly believe and do take the challenge to try to better my life by all means necessary. Like is a difficult journey but it grants all of us the possibility to better our lives and attempt to do some good for our family, friends and us. I just dislike drugs, stealing and prostitution. God knows our society suffers from human trafficking, drug dealers and many other illegal activities. All of us must stay positive and try our best to succeed by our means, talent and abilities in all areas.

Film school for director/actors/editor would have been helpful. The film gets a tiny bit better as it goes on. Everyone but the main character improves somewhat. Recommendation: don't waste your time.

It's the Black Hand not ' BLANK'. The real Black Hand was formed on the 9th May 1911 was the catalyst following B.H's assignation of Arch Duke Ferdinand starting WW2 in Serbia: On the European map - its sandwiched between Romania & Bosnia Herzegovina, the new name from the dissolution of Yugoslavia 1991. It's not unlike the Italian Mafi in the U.S, but this film fails to elaborate on the film title's origin. Hence the history lesson, hope you found this interesting.
There was also a White Hand in 1953 creating Yugoslavia. The Black Hand in court claiming they weren't to blame for WW2.

I just started watching, but when the same guy is the casting Dir., producer, and director I don't have a good feeling.
good enough entertainment for me to recommend. free of charge movies are not worth watching half the time. this one is worth watching if you are needing a movie night.
No breaking skid marks near the crash that I could see which means drunk/asleep at the wheel or foul play. Only 15 minutes in but it's keeping my attention and I often skip over certain movies 🎬 especially if the acting it shite, these guys Don't seem like students fresh out of film school and if they are then bravo 👏 🙌 good job.

At 37:46 the reporter claims the he is from a small town in Iowa. At 41:16 he claims that he is from a small town in Idaho. The detective wears a pinky ring throughout the movie. It's a slow moving movie that will put you to sleep faster than pills. No adrenaline rush here.
It seemed logical to me that when he was talking to the widow, he said he was from Idaho, because she said she was from Seattle. I think he was trying to establish some regional rapport to make her feel more comfortable and open.
Actually, he’s probably from a small town in Afghanistan! That’s the major source of the smack the CIA brings over here.

@@frankblangeard8865 True, but he probably didn’t realize that. It’s not worth discussing; it’s such a minor issue. The movie moves very slowly, but we come from a generation that has become accustomed to having everything given to us RIGHT NOW- immediately, with no delay. We’re used to dozens of images being thrown at us in rapid succession. We might learn to appreciate things in a more relaxed manner. Watching a movie should be like sex..you want it to build slowly to a powerful ending. I think the twist at the end was worth the wait.

In middle of this movie, i went to toilet, came back and i didn't miss a damn scene! This movie is very very slow!
Just because of all the good comments, I will try finishing it.
Edit: first night slept off at 18 minutes, and second night slept off at 46. But i am determined to finish the movie. So i am starting early today.😜
Edit: returning after 6 days. Failed to finish the one hour mark on my 3rd attempt. Will find a good time to complete the movie.
Edit: two months later, i am yet to visit this movie. Came to update because I received a reply notification.

the walk from the bridge down the country road was weird, odd music, and at times far too slow, but a good mystery-crime drama. great ending

Jeees.......just started watching and I'm not going to judge on this but I had to get it off my chest. First 10 minutes in, the first car crash, was the budget that short that they couldn't afford a to smash up ? Just take a look at the car when the main cop is walking round it ! It didn't even touch the sand pile and was in perfect condition " I would buy it for a dollar! " . Well that's my rant for the evening. Evening.

Low budget movie. Excellent photography, but the dialogues rather stiff. Actors reciting lines like in a high-school play. Yet the director managed to build dramatic tension throughout.
