MARK!!! Thank you for making the point to mention that a very small percentage of people with ASD etc… commit violent crimes. I am an ASD mother of 2 also with ASD/neuro divergence and the general population needs to understand that we are not dangerous and would never dream of hurting others. Sometimes when I’m watching these videos the comments being made can make us seem a certain way and it worries me that it creates or propigates a stigma around us.
I would like for the police to ask a person like these " what makes you feel like you have the right to live but your victim didn't"? I'd really like to hear what their answers would be!
This young man is from my town. There were many, many, many signs this was a possibility. His disturbing writings were flagged by teachers and our school SRO wrote a multiple page report about him being a risk at school.
I was born in Junction in 1950. Left in '69. Roper/Byrd. Mom's buried on North Avenue. Dad's ashes are on the Mesa. We never locked our doors back then. So sad.
I watched these videos on Law&Crime Network which included the interviews with his parents. I was hoping you guys would analyze this! In the interview with his mother, she says that he was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, and at some point (I believe middle school) she was advised to take him for testing for psychosis after some incidents at school. She also said she was unable to find a healthcare specialist in their area who would see him so did not have him tested 😐
Between the "A human head and hands." and the "I am very cold blooded" parts I have a newfound respect for Rainn Wilson's depiction of Dwight Schrute in The Office.
He started to talk about the last time he felt all shaky and then he changed his mind and made up the eyes and knives. He did something horrific years ago, but last minute, he chose not to share it with the detective. Did anyone else pick up on that?
The composure these officers have is worthy of noting. Having to act as if everything he's saying is normal, I can't even imagine what was going through their heads, besides "we need to make sure we ask this guy everything while he's cooperating."
Rotten mango does a really good video on this. She talks about his history and how his teachers expressed a lot of concern looooooong before all this went down. He’s brought nunchucks to school, told his psychologist “hitler” is a career role model and had a redit page that he used as a diary and said some really concerning things on
I really like how you are joking with each other and that you have respect for each other and that you are able to work on same project for many years. I really enjoy seeing these kind but also manly man.
My official armchair diagnosis is: EEK. I live in the area. This happened right when I moved here. Je*sus Chr*st! What a welcome to Grand Junction. The victims story breaks my heart.🙏🏽
Lets give Bruce Rivers some love on the loss of his beloved son, Michael. He passed away end of November 😢 RIP content genius. Bruces pain must be unbearable!!
There was an online book of condolences where I left some thoughts. There's really nothing you can say, but I hope the feelings expressed by perfect strangers will give Bruce Rivers and his family a sense of support by his subscribers. I cannot imagine the grief the family is enduring. Let them have all the time they need.
@diannefurey7990 I didn't know there was a condolence book. I left a message on his last post. I hope our support gives him some comfort. Just so sad 😞
One important thing that is almost never mentioned is, people on the ”spectrum” almost always know the what is wrong or not. It is not an excuse that they are on the spectrum, they know right from wrong as you and me. That is important to highlight.
I really want to thank you for showing the video before and again after ya'lls analysis. I have been really blind to body language, but I have really learned lots, especially with seeing videos twice.
Thank you, Behaviour Panel, for saying that not all people in a certain box are capable of these things. I love crime shows as they fascinate me, but my one bug bear, is that when the profilers give their idea of who the police should be looking for, so many times they start with, " a person who grew up in the system". I grew up in the system with horrific abuse, but I'm by nature an empath. I was even doubting myself at one stage. So, thank you for being very clear about labelling people.
Great one guys, on the "bright" side, at least he was caught very early, i mean, what would have stopped him from going "serial" for years and many more victims. Great work too in that interrogation room, real smooth on their part. Look forward to part 2.
I just want to say that sometimes folks diagnosed with autism do make long pauses in their conversation - not necessarily because they're searching for an answer, but because their brain provides dozens of possible answers and they're trying to decide which one to use. I do believe Cohee has flat affect, but i wanted to make that point regardless.
The fact that his parents kept him from going outside the home is telling. Obviously, the parents knew he was dangerous to begin with. It wouldn’t be surprising to find out there were earlier events in his childhood where he was harmful to others. He looks like a grown man but acts like a child. I get the overall feeling that this event makes him feel important.
I think he said "the eyes in the wall watching (comma) the eyes in the furniture..." Meaning two things with eyes watching him, not watching each other.
I totally agree with Chase on this one, when he says that it’s sad that the guy is happy perhaps for the first time because he’s experienced doing something that he feels like freedom. It is sad. Obviously it’s horrific and awful but it’s also sad.
Thank you 4 for widening my knowledge, from vocabulary to concepts. As a solo parent, routine and communication are key. Listening has always been a strong point but I feel over the last few years I've gained a super power, I couldn't be more grateful. Not the ideal video to leave my gratitude under but it was either now or forget 💛
He had 2-3 diagnosis. On nightly medications. Got in trouble at school for deliberately scaring a girl that has severe fear disorder. He scared her on purpose and got suspended for doing it. He’s a disturbed person. Psychopath for sure. No empathy. His parents held out hope for him. As most parents do. I feel bad for them. 😢
This is a very nice case that you are discussing here. When the investigator asked him if he liked it, and he couldn't say whether he liked it or not, I link that back to 1:14 when the police first confronted him and asked why he did it. He answered "I've always wondered what murder felt like". As you usually discuss that, that kind of person doesn't have feelings, maybe he was wondering about feelings in general but the only thing that made sense to him, to give him a rush to find out what a feeling is all about, he thought that murder would definitely invoke a feeling. Maybe he already tried other things to invoke a feeling and it didn't work, so he resorted to murder as it should be extreme enough to make him feel something. I love your channel, keep it up.
Always interesting and informative. Does the subject not understand the implications of his actions ? Truly very shocking the total lack of realization or being present ?! Thank you gentlemen. 🇨🇦
I’m fascinated by psychopaths. And watching this channel has provided me with actual real insight as to how to spot them. Scott I know is an expert on psychopaths so I’ve learnt so much from him.
There is one spot right there in the beginning when he is asked what his parents found. For a split second he considers lying, then his voice drops and he tells what they found. That voice drop right before telling all is so evil that he sounds possessed like in the movies. Gives me the shivers.
This is the perfect example of " turning on a light switch in the brain".. the way his personality just jumped into 3rd gear when he delivered " a hand and head"
What a complex and chilling psychological profile - The dangerous combination of emotional detachment, obsessive tendencies, and psychopathic traits. His actions speak to a profound disconnection from morality and a dangerous willingness to exploit those he viewed as powerless. There is a significant distinction between being neurodivergent and choosing to commit heinous acts. His choices stem from a deep moral and psychological dysfunction, operating without empathy or remorse. This makes his actions calculated and self-serving, regardless of the pain inflicted on others.
GREAT idea to do this one. This is the prototypical example of a braggadocios killer who LIVES for the interrogation because it's their chance to give a "supervillain speech" while everyone is still listening and before he becomes another prison statistic.
I saw this full video on EW, it was horrifying but I couldn’t stop watching.. I couldn’t even stop to even try and break down his body language on my own because my jaw was just dropped in horror. So thrilled you guys are breaking it down
Chase saying it would be sad if a human gets recognition and attention as a human for the first time so late in life.... I felt that.. it's so rare that I cherish when it happens... but then of course I scare them away by being too attentive. and end up repeating the cycle all over again
I think this was a really good episode. We need to try and understand why and how some people can do such horrific acts. The more we know the better. Best outcome we learn more about what to look out for so we can try and prevent future tragedies Thanks Guys!
Howdy Neighbour! Greg just want to acknowledge you’re super neat typed notes this week.. I see your efforts 😅 Great tactic for the detective to ask him to help him understand.. since in the first video he was very proud & excited to tell his story!
I have Autism/ASD Level 1, and when he had to think for a while about what he felt, and after much deliberation still couldn't identify the emotion, it reminded me so much of my normal experience. And other than the fact that my autism is accompanied by significant anxiety/hellish panic-attacks, the alexithymia (what I often call delayed emotional processing, at least in my experience of it) is the thing I dislike the most. It's quite frustrating to know that you feel something fairly strongly (which is not my default setting) but it literally takes several days to start figuring out what it is that you actually feel. Needless to say, I couldn't have done what this guy did and I would def have all kinds of feelings if I did that kind of stuff.
I understand what you are saying. I am awkward as hell in company and I have to think through my mental reactions to situations to understand my emotions. A social faux pas that causes upset to some one can torture me with regret, I could not hurt some one without devastating myself emotionally. Our conditions can make life complicated for people like us but we are not so different from every body else, even if we struggle to understand them. The victim, a quiet guy who liked to read, worked enough to pay a room, his food and a library card and enjoyed his own company is more typical of people like us than the man who killed him.
I'd love to see an episode on healthcare CEO's being interviewed or testifying. I'm very interested in trying to understand the type of person who can routinely value money over people. For instance knowingly making the approval process more difficult in an effort to make more profit. They have to know these decisions will harm some people and ultimately could kill people by delaying or denying life saving care. Being willing to put customers lives at risk (honest paying customers) should be very hard the average person to morally justify in their mind. Are they a type of psychopath?
Ok,...WTF!? I was in Grand Junction on Feb, 28th, 2021. The day after he murdered the poor dude and the day before he was arrested. I was driving out to 29 palms from Buffalo NY. I had a new rental car, a new tent, some camping gear and food, everything I needed to camp out in Bureau of land Management Land. As I stood atop a random campsite and was flying my drone as the sun set, I got a pronounced spooky feeling and decided to get a hotel room back in Grand Junction. I remember looking at my phone to see where I was and saw the Green River was below me. I figured it was the Green River from the "Green River" killings (it wasn't, wrong state) but that's what I figured was giving me this uneasy feeling because I normally don't spook so easily but I was downright scared to camp that night. So I backtracked to GJ and got a room. My current profile picture is from that day. Trust your gut. As for this fellow, I just read some of his deleted posts on reddit, he killed a feral cat in 2019 leading up to this murder and the rest of his posts were straight up cries for help that sadly went unanswered or answered in the wrong way. Mental Illness is a horror show, especially if left untreated or misdiagnosed. Red flags all over the place with this kid.
You were being directed perhaps by an inner voice or even being guided and protected by angels. God is real and if you have believers in your family. Perhaps a mom praying for you, that all comes into play. I have been saved from so much harm. I can only give the glory to God. My grandmother & mother’s prayers have saved me multiple times. GB. If you are not a believer, that’s ok, God believes in you.
@@LylaLourdes "God believes in you", wow, thank you for the kind words. I have NEVER not believed that and I am one flawed moFo. I'm not really a believer in any church or religion but I DEFINITELY believe in the power of prayer. No doubt. On this trip I had a choice to visit a friend in California, or my parents in Hilton Head. Had I visited my parents, I would have watched my father die right in front of me and been helpless to do anything but call an ambulance. He died suddenly a week after this when my mother was at her friends. The whole thing while devastating and a total shock could have been this even more horrific memory for me, or my siblings and mother. I'm sure it was my father's daily Prayer and "Karma" that spared my whole family from going through it. Tonight, I'll say a prayer for your Mother and Grandmother and my parents, thanking them for "getting it right". Thanks again.
Smart shirt Greg. I was thinking. He did say, he wanted to find out what murdering someone felt like. So, he’s childlike when he is so proud at the police station. He’s excited because it’s a new experience and different and exciting. So he wants to share his experience
Watching this person, it is almost like a butterfly coming out of the cocoon. This is his moment. I kinda feel for the investigator, all that training, and they did not really have to use the skills. This person (using term loosely), just sits and cannot wait to tell his story. It is almost like he cannot get it out fast enough for him. If you have not seen this complete interview, please look it up, it is worth the time to watch it (if you are interested in this behavior and interviews). Also, I really do not judge the interviewers, because if you watch the complete interview, I do not think many human beings could sit and listen to this animal. But this person is coming out, he is proud of this accomplishment. Do not think he will do well in prison.
I just finished watching the latest show about Brian Cohee. At the end of the show, Scott said, "Come at me bro" which is a Detroit phrase! Being raised in Detroit and choosing to raise my children in Detroit, it was cool to hear that from a southern guy!!!😊
Oh My Goosh, I watch the initial video. He is ONE sick puppy. When they were doing the interview with his Mom, after a while she felt so comfortable she was laughing. I don't think, I'd laugh under any circumstance.
Love the Cardiff University shoutout from Chase, not for the 1st time either from him or Greg, as they’ve brought it up before. Nice one Mr Hughes and Mr Hartley. PS I’m a June born Cardiff baby 🏴 😂
It is so crazy how calmly he tells the responding officer what has happened... at that moment I knew something was up... oh ya know just a human head and hands 🤷♀️
@morenaczarnecki2651 he is very matter of fact, and I also appreciate him taking responsibility and not wasting the time and resources of others in a worse way.
He's proud of his actions and eager to describe them. This was all part of the incident. He knew he'd get caught then questioned. He's very happy with himself and all the attention he's getting.
Chase made an observation about "the first time someone being interested in him" - that is sad, AND I think he lights up because this is the first time someone has been interested in what HE'S INTERESTED IN. Throughout the documentary (especially later when you see the interview with his mom) that no one turned to this kid to talk to him about his darkness - they just wanted it to go away (naturally) - and so this kid got the message: don't talk about that creepy shiz.

It's Elizabeth Ann Hanson doing she's changed my life. A BROKER- like her is what you need.
$356K monthly is something you should feel differently about....
Lovely! I enjoyed it like I enjoy a $100k monthly around the turn!!!
Is he capable of any kind of self awareness/control or reflection?
They don't. They think it's like fate to kill or be killed.
So sad.
My family moved to GJ in 1975. A lot has changed in the last 50 years.

It's amazing that his parents are still alive.
What a nice surprise at the beginning, Greg! “This is a dark little bastard”. 😂😂. This guy sure is.
Between the "A human head and hands." and the "I am very cold blooded" parts I have a newfound respect for Rainn Wilson's depiction of Dwight Schrute in The Office.
This is what happens when you cross Dwight with Creed hahaha. A socially inept, Amish looking serial killer lol
For real
Ha ha, his archetype. "the overkill killer"
Oh THAT'S who he reminded me of! 😂
Hey, I like the plaid shirt! 😂You go Greg!!!
He started to talk about the last time he felt all shaky and then he changed his mind and made up the eyes and knives. He did something horrific years ago, but last minute, he chose not to share it with the detective. Did anyone else pick up on that?
gr8 observation!
I can spot a psychopath when these guys point one out 😂😂
Love that remark! 😂
😅 that's why we're here...fascinaing.
The composure these officers have is worthy of noting. Having to act as if everything he's saying is normal, I can't even imagine what was going through their heads, besides "we need to make sure we ask this guy everything while he's cooperating."
"Yeah. This is a dark lil bastard." 😂
Rotten mango does a really good video on this. She talks about his history and how his teachers expressed a lot of concern looooooong before all this went down. He’s brought nunchucks to school, told his psychologist “hitler” is a career role model and had a redit page that he used as a diary and said some really concerning things on
Ty 😊
Yes and teachers are not "allowed " to judge or be concerned. Somewhere on the spectrum I'd say.
I really like how you are joking with each other and that you have respect for each other and that you are able to work on same project for many years. I really enjoy seeing these kind but also manly man.
I feel the same! I like these smart guys who get along so well!
I'm so glad you four collaborated and created this channel. I truly enjoy it!!
Holy shit. I didn't know this. That's so heartbreaking, does anyone know how he passed?
its heartbreaking
What? I didn’t know! Omg what happened?? My heart is breaking for Bruce 😢
Well that depressed me having been born in Cardiff in the winter, thanks a lot for that guys
It is reversed for the Welsh. As always.
Me too 😂
@@Sulurianxx lol good one
One important thing that is almost never mentioned is, people on the ”spectrum” almost always know the what is wrong or not. It is not an excuse that they are on the spectrum, they know right from wrong as you and me. That is important to highlight.
Yo Greg, dig the shirt. . . . Looks cozy what is that, behavior flannel?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lovely joke.
He looks great, very tender❤
@insiracusa1111 ha, yup I've used that one a couple times, can't help it, makes me chuckle anyway : )
Its lovely❤
I really want to thank you for showing the video before and again after ya'lls analysis. I have been really blind to body language, but I have really learned lots, especially with seeing videos twice.
The guy did all this just to know the feeling of murdering someone and when asked how it felt? He could not explain it and was speechless..
Happy new year!
I’ve been binge watching episodes over the holiday!
Thank you for doing these videos!
So they should detune their expert opinion just to cater to your feelings.
The delivery of that AL from Home Improvement line was perfect 👌
This kids reaction is absolutely terrifying to me. He was so blunt and answered questions like ha was describing how you folded laundry😮
He's been diagnosed with autism.
Well now he won't have to wonder what prison feels like.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
High-five, you guys, on the 1Million subs! Recognition well-deserved!
1000 people in chat but only 300 likes come on people hit that like button!!!!!!!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍
I don’t know why people can’t push that like button, it happens so often
@ it’s all good just making an attempt to help get likes for the show.I like to support the channels that I like even something so minuscule
Great one guys, on the "bright" side, at least he was caught very early, i mean, what would have stopped him from going "serial" for years and many more victims. Great work too in that interrogation room, real smooth on their part. Look forward to part 2.
Yes, he can't wait to tell people about it. It looks like he sees it as a great achievement.
Same thing I thought. And oh so helpful offering up all the info they ask him for 😶
I just want to say that sometimes folks diagnosed with autism do make long pauses in their conversation - not necessarily because they're searching for an answer, but because their brain provides dozens of possible answers and they're trying to decide which one to use. I do believe Cohee has flat affect, but i wanted to make that point regardless.
You guys are brilliant ..... love you all four. YES, your audience is 'high end viewers' ...... because you explain & educate us to well. 😄😄😄😄😄😄
I believe in nature. Therefore, he was shown this behavior during childhood.
Oh, he's definitely medicated
I think he said "the eyes in the wall watching (comma) the eyes in the furniture..." Meaning two things with eyes watching him, not watching each other.
Exactly lol
Hey Greg! Hope your Horse has a quick recovery ❤️🩹 and Love your shirt! ☺️🥰
💛💛💛💛 always a good time to leave gratitude I'm grateful for all I've learned here too.
I wonder if his autism diagnosis was a missed psychopathy diagnosis, bc they are similar trait wise and he was definitely a psycho.
I totally feel bad for the parents. It seems like they did all that they could to help him over the years. I commend them for calling the police.
Fascinating case. Fantastic video fellas, always love to see your personalities come through a little too.
"Hey there" to our favorite million subscriber men!!! I'm still so very proud of y'all! Stay warm!
You guys were in prime form in this one. Loved it! And Scott I totally agree with you.
There is one spot right there in the beginning when he is asked what his parents found. For a split second he considers lying, then his voice drops and he tells what they found. That voice drop right before telling all is so evil that he sounds possessed like in the movies. Gives me the shivers.
Chase, how are you currently? I hope you‘re alright. And Mark: wow!!!! You lost weight, you look so healthy! ❤ greetings from Germany!
This is the perfect example of " turning on a light switch in the brain".. the way his personality just jumped into 3rd gear when he delivered " a hand and head"
I like the shirt Greg plaid is rad
Greg looks good in everything.😊
What a complex and chilling psychological profile - The dangerous combination of emotional detachment, obsessive tendencies, and psychopathic traits.
His actions speak to a profound disconnection from morality and a dangerous willingness to exploit those he viewed as powerless.
There is a significant distinction between being neurodivergent and choosing to commit heinous acts. His choices stem from a deep moral and psychological dysfunction, operating without empathy or remorse. This makes his actions calculated and self-serving, regardless of the pain inflicted on others.
ALWAYS LOOK FORWARD TO MY THURSDAY VIDEOS WITH THE BOYS!!!!
Love the shirt, Greg.
GREAT idea to do this one. This is the prototypical example of a braggadocios killer who LIVES for the interrogation because it's their chance to give a "supervillain speech" while everyone is still listening and before he becomes another prison statistic.
Yeah, for sure. This is sooo much fun for him. He's eating up the attention. Ugh
I'm glad you guys are covering this case.
I watched his arrest and interview and it's just insane!
Having studied under the best -Greg's body language says "bad back" by the way he is twisting around in that chair!
Best outcome we learn more about what to look out for so we can try and prevent future tragedies
Thanks Guys!
The difference between you and him is that YOU actually HAVE feelings. He doesn’t. Has nothing to do with ASD.
Oh yea we've all got something these days buddy. I'm a cat in a man's body
I'm glad you guys covered this one. Saw this long ago and thought WOW!
Thank you gentlemen.
Chase, get well soon.
Praying for a speedy recovery, Chase! God Bless
An estimated 20% of all CEO's are what is called sociopaths. They normally need to be to make it to the top. Sad, but true.
Oh, I’ve been waiting for this one. Through out the entire interview, you could see how proud he was. Thanks guy, love ya❤
Wooop, I was hoping you would do this one. Can’t wait 🥰 and thanks 🙏🏻
When he admits to the murder it's almost like a child that gets caught and there's no point of hiding it and proud of it.
If my child gets caught doing something they weren't supposed to, they're far from proud. This kid is a different kind of evil 🤯😱
I’ve listened to this disturbing story at length, and I think Chase is on the money.
Greg, don’t listen to them, your shirt looks great! 😆😊
The dude is absolutely insane. Like im both fascinated and disgusted by seeing a psycho. RIP to the victim.
Hate to disagree chase but i think this guy is a genuine psycho. Remorse is certainly the benchmark and he has none of it.
At the start when questioned outside, he immediately struck me as being on the spectrum
Yeah, it was immediate for me too.
I actually found it refreshing that he doesn't make excuses for himself or blame everyone else for his action
This was so good. So much going on. Can't wait for part 2!!
