@@aidokhaijeremiah8342 There’s definitely tracks that sounded like drakes usual stuff: TSU, Champaign Poetry, etc. I think the album as a whole just grew immensely on me, not any one track too specifically.

I enjoy Jon's reviews and damn, he is one of the fatest to upload even with the time difference! Seriously he is top tier in the UA-cam game. Oh and CLB was good too!
I really like this album. Starts slow but like you said a few tracks in and it really starts delivering. I like how he plays into the parts of Drake that people hate on and just turns it up a notch.
Yeah it starts slow but when it makes it to Fair trade it goes on like a 9 track streak do straight heat(excluding 2 sexy bc I hate that song) ! Gonna be a grower just like Views.
I’ve watch a few reactions and been peeping hot takes…and Drake so dope he has music and songs for everybody. Songs I don’t care for …ppl absolutely love and songs I love ppl don’t care for. I think that’s whats epic about drake.
FACTS! Like songs I don’t care for people absolutely LOVE! He really speaks to everybody more than any other artist in the game. Like I love 7am on bridal and some people love tf outta IMY2. And I didn’t like 2 sexy, but I’ve seen so many people saying it’s their fav.
He's a hit, and miss pop rapper, who hasn't made a good album since "If You're seeing this it's too late" There are some good songs on this album, but the rest of this shit is mid.
27:09 - “I’ll put you on a Gildan, u play w/ my seed”. *translation* : “Gildan” is a brand of Tshirt commonly used to make “custom shirts”. When somebody dies & you see “RIP so&so” on a tshirt, it’s usually on a Gildan brand tshirt - *additionally* : he’s not talking to Push, he’s taking to Kanye. A lot has happened in the past 6/8 months or so & all I’ll say is this line is DIRECTLY for Kanye for attempting to… w/o saying too much…”bother” Adonis. Drake saying, “play w my kid & ppl will be putting you on a tshirt.”
This album is such a grower. First listen I was amazed by the beats and fww good tracks but it was OK. Second listen and onwards damn its def something. It provides a sense of nostalgia.
The Pipe Down commentary before the song started had me dying 🤣🤣 album for sure is really good. Just a few tracks that really can be dropped off. But album is really strong despite that. 9/10 for me

3 years later, this album aged so well😮💨production is heavenly and drizzy's melodies/harmonies are addictive
I love this record a lot, and I'm not the biggest Drake fan tbh I tend to be super critical with him but this is heat, and it's very interesting that die hard Drake fans have been so disappointed with this one.
I'm a die hard Drake fan since his first albums and this is definitely one of my favorite albums from him. I'm guessing the disappointment comes from Drake not changing his style, but that's exactly what I love about it.
@@megadudeGM101 Yeah idk he's just embracing the meme and the smoke to its fullest, there's just something about it, this is definitely my favorite Drake project he's ever put out.
I totally agree. Im very hit or miss with Drake especially on the albums vs singles. This is my favorite listen from him since If you're reading this its too late. Still isnt grabbing me like some of the better records this year like from Tyler or Cole but its good
@@noaheast7600 totally bro, obviously he ain't no damn Shakespeare, but he sounds better than ever, and yeah there are better albums this year already but I'm loving how everybody was just ready to drop, it's been a good year musically
@@queeeeericuraaaaaaaa Kendrick has to drop to make it arguably the biggest year in hip hop releases ever.
Stop listening things with hate, with high expectations, stop living wars and battles that are not yours, just listen and enjoy the album.
The more you hear the more you like it.
Both Donda and CLB are exceptional!
Thanks Jon, your the best reviewer on UA-cam fr.
Right. And also let’s remember they’re both different albums
@@youngkxnggg2164 exactly. and very different artists
Ye fans came in w bitter sour faces listening to the album so there is no possible way they’re gonna like it. I saw somebody say Champagne poetry was a 2/10 song. That’s when I knew people just talk. Same w drake fans, don’t listen to Donda w closed ears. Music not comparable, like tryna compare a Weeknd album to a Lil Baby album
@@NightOwlJa very different sounds too!
I came into both albums completely neutral, typically favor drake over Kanye but I enjoyed most of Donda but CLB was awful in my opinion
Following since early days in rock reacts and you're hands down one of the best doing this. Love how subjective you can be while being true to your opinion especially when the nature of music is so objective
21 savage has shown so much growth and i’m here for it
14:02 BEST PART LMAO WE LOVE YOU JON
Not listened to this album for a good year but coming back to it god it’s full of gems.
This a definitely a grower, listened to it again on the way home from work and it’s starting to hit differently
trust me, in a week or 2 people with flip the script
Yeah cause we wanna listen to fake gospel 24/7
Did the lesbian line hit you too?
@@dennam5207 if you don’t understand the line then just say that bro
@@JosiahB1 it’s not that fucking deep dude that line is just corny
Tracks 9-12 is the best run on this thing imo. Some bangers in there and the beat on Pipe Down is crazy.
I think 8-15 was the run for me. Starting TSU all the way to Race my Mind. He straight BODIED Ye on 7am. Flow, wordplay, entendres, cadence, tone, everything about that song rapping wise was amazing:
@@Colormomey556 donda had more bangers no 🧢 which is a shame because I was more excited for CLB release.
@@Colormomey556 but did he actually write that diss track himself tho? Not even tryna make an old ghost writer joke either. The wordplay on there is something that i dont think ive never heard drake do. Has me questioning a bit ngl😂
@@wiisportsmatt9775 bruh what? 6pm in New York? The whole time stamp series. He wrote for Ye?😂😂😂 just stop talking brudda. Go listen to Tuscan leather. Tell me you don’t listen to drake without telling me you don’t listen to drake

The album definitely gets better towards the end
The first track and the one with lil baby we’re amazing. You’re not completely wrong tho
I think it grows on a person with each track and progressively gets better. Just my opinion though
nah stop they sound the same
Omg yes exactly
Bro when? Lmfaooo the album was just drake being sad and giving half assed devliveries
Everyone after hearing “way 2 sexy”
“I hate myself, but I like this now.” 😂😂
WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO
Shit so funny bro, especially Khawhi
When ever drake drops one and it has a time line on the title you know its a banger.
What an amazing Reaction! You're the best Jon!
This album was one of my favorite albums by The Boy.
Champagne poetry with earphones on full is insanely good🔥
U know its a hit when Jon puts his shades on 😎
I haven’t seen anyone else comment this so just thought I would say that swishahouse on TSU and the beat sampled on N 2 Deep are both huge homages to the Houston rap scene. For all of us who grew up listening to Swisha, Pimp C, Bun B, etc it was very exciting/nostalgic to hear.
Jon gonna love the music video lmao
I think this album aged well tbh
Most if not all of Drakes albums do
Fact
I agree. I think it was early in on the trend music was headed in for these last months. Revisiting it feels like its perfectly placed at the moment.
@@airanator1212 💯 what are your favorite tracks. Fair Trade, Love All, TSU, Race My Mind, Yebbas Heartbreak, Champagne Poetry all in my favorites
@@aidokhaijeremiah8342 There’s definitely tracks that sounded like drakes usual stuff: TSU, Champaign Poetry, etc.
I think the album as a whole just grew immensely on me, not any one track too specifically.
Fair trade got me levitating. Travis is really so goated that’s exactly why he’s my favorite artist and made me so much more exited fro Utopia that album is gonna be legendary.
@Sarah travis been undefeated since astroworld
Drake's part is legendary tho
Best part of the album
I knew that would be the one whne he put that snippet on Instagram. Whne I saw the trav ft it cemented it

Great reaction Jon! Been with you for over 2 years now and absolutely loving this. Your reaction to Way 2 Sexy is hilarious
I absolutely LOVED that you loved it 💗💗💗
After listening to this album for a week its fantastic, 9/10..
Don’t usually like Drake singing a ton but this album didn’t bother me
He rapped a lot more in this album that sang.

Drake too comfortable at this point. At least Kanye still experimenting and got the best out of Fivio like he did Rick Ross and Nicki
That's why always put Ye over drake. Even carti and Uzi stay experimental and it's so entertaining. This album felt like Scorpion 1.5.
Kanyes rapping is the worst part of his albums. So if you’re ok with admitting that the experimentation has resulted in significantly worse bars….
@@JosiahB1 ??
You summed it up perfectly.
You summed it up perfectly.

Loving your work Jon. Keep em coming.

“I’ll put you on a Gildan, u play w/ my seed”.
*translation* :
“Gildan” is a brand of Tshirt commonly used to make “custom shirts”. When somebody dies & you see “RIP so&so” on a tshirt, it’s usually on a Gildan brand tshirt -
*additionally* : he’s not talking to Push, he’s taking to Kanye. A lot has happened in the past 6/8 months or so & all I’ll say is this line is DIRECTLY for Kanye for attempting to… w/o saying too much…”bother” Adonis. Drake saying, “play w my kid & ppl will be putting you on a tshirt.”
Most positive comment section I’ve seen on this album . Thank you
It’s pretty good and has got some hits that I enjoyed no doubt. But as a whole album, I enjoyed Donda more
This album is such a grower. First listen I was amazed by the beats and fww good tracks but it was OK. Second listen and onwards damn its def something. It provides a sense of nostalgia.
This album aged so good 2 years later
The Pipe Down commentary before the song started had me dying 🤣🤣 album for sure is really good. Just a few tracks that really can be dropped off. But album is really strong despite that. 9/10 for me
Legend has it John is still thinking about the production quality😂
Loved the review. One of the only people I’ve seen appreciate the body of work. Also, kudos 🤣
people are so quick to judge music nowadays, it's so annoying because both CLB and Donda are great bodies of work with songs that will be stuck in peoples minds for a long time
Prediction pre-watch:
Jon laughs at more songs than he likes

Tems on Fountains was just amazing!!!
this exactly how i was, the first three songs just wasnt hitting then this man goes on a run of a lifetime with the following tracks. i dont know how they let those songs be the intro to the album.
That run was immaculate! Album wouldve been 10/10 if he left off 2 sexy, Girls like Girls, and In the Bible.
I guarantee the first two songs will grow on you. Atleast the first one
Fair Trade is good though. All that you’d expect from a Drake song, but not boring.
@@mr.gullible2506 man idk, lyrically i enjoyed the first track but my biggest gripe with it is that i felt the sample vocals were way too loud, it was offputting when i kept hearing the sample have more presence on the track then Drake's vocals. it was hard to focus on his bars cuz im stuck focusing on the sample idk might just be a me problem😂
@@svjoehenny7021 nah fair enough. I think that was more of a problem with papis home though. It’s something I personally liked but the sample was alot louder

Because of the fact that Rick Ross killed that feature I thought that you should react to some Rick Ross albums. You should start with Teflon Don, in my opinion his best album you won't be disappointed + it would be interesting cause I didn't really see that many Ross album reactions on youtube
