Nice work - when you import your own sample; how do you bypass all effects in the X-Stream Spectral Synthesizer to compare and build from there etc?

Thank you! I have installed this. Less for the presets than for the GUI, which could be a short cut for me when using the spectral oscillator. The presets are impressive in themselves though.
How does the CPU load compare to Izotope Iris 2?

Just when I thought Pigments was my go to this drops. And it’s free. The sounds and textures are excellent and I love using my own sound files best.

What's weird is that I was just thinking about spectral synthesizers a couple of weeks ago, and pining for Cube by Virsyn that I lost long ago. Then, this pops up and it sounds effing amazing! Haven't been this excited for a synth since Absynth (RIP) and Omnisphere releases. Excellent work on this one.

can you import your own samples ? btw VPS Avenger can also do such kind of things.

Thank you! This instrument is stunning.... Is anyone else having trouble dragging and dropping their own samples? All tutorials I watch make it look simple, but I just get a negation symbol when I hover my .wav file over the spectral zone, and nothing will drop.

Yeah, at first mine was delayed too until I found the online Download Assistant link update to activate it. Working now.
Is there a manual online anywhere? I can't seem to get presets to load.

I'm getting the red dots for all of the X-Stream presets.
You must log into Steinberg account to then 'activate' the instrument.

So... How do you actually record with it? Anyone?
What kind of question is that. The same way you record with any midi instrument. Arm the track, press record and play the synth
@@sacredserpent9667 Geez dude, if you start out with a condescending remark, you might as well rather not say anything. Not everyone is an expert. Some of us are new to all of this and just starting out. You learn by asking questions, no matter how stupid it may seem to someone else.

I dont think he was ever part of the Strindberg team as he said, he was just asked to make a few patches.
@@gamerturniton3081 He's in a ton of Steinberg product videos. If he's doing all of them for free, he's independently wealthy, and his purpose in live is to make Steinberg product videos.

i take it this cant load ur own samples?...that would canabalize padshop and halion...but I'm even surprised they giving this away...hoping you get hooked and want to use your own samples...smart
You CAN load your own samples but I think Padshop can do much more.

this is a great improvement on a 40 year old idea Roland D-550.
The Roland D50/D550 was based on a completely different concept, namely the use of short samples (the "attack" part) combined with subtractive synthesis.

Like if we needed another plugin!! Not really free, there is always a catch, nobody gives anything for free remember that.

Where's the real creativity though...? Select a preset and turn your modwheel to make it "unique". Am I the only one who doesn't like to use these kinds of plugins? It feels so uninspired using them
I downloaded X Stram, but Steinberg constantly refuses to activate the plug-in
Just in case you don't know: you also need to install the "Steinberg Activation Manager".
You need halion sonic 7 to use it
