    This machine is a great entry by Roland and a smart one. DTF is still relatively new. It makes no sense to pour tons of money developing and engineering an all new DTF printer from scratch. If they did that, you would end up with a $10K+ printer. Instead they made a good move by testing the market, using an already existing machine that has been tried and tested and just tweaked and calibrated it for DTF inks.
    So far Roland is the only printer manufacturer offering its own DTF printer. Everything else out there is the same China made printers that use a mish mash of parts and epson print heads. They just change the logos on the machines to make them look different e.g. the Prestige A3 is the latest entry. Theyre not bad, just know what your getting.
    The fact that Roland makes this product and is not just a re-branded machine from overseas, backs it up with support by Roland with a warranty and the system is all made to work together (unlike the other machines out there), the ink, the RIP software and the printhead all in a machine that is already known to perform, thats a HUUGE+. and yeah as mentioned by others, you dont need a shaker unless your doing hundreds of shirts a day and dont mind the noise. Also, I imagine that if this machine does well and they see a demand, Roland will probably end up developing a dedicated DTF printing machine from the ground up.

    This printer is perfect for screenprinting shops that can’t justify $20k for a DTG printer but wants to stop turning away orders that fall beneath their minimum. The manual work to print, shake, and press will save HOURS compared to trying to accomplish the same with burning screens, etc. The value of this machine is attached to its designated purpose. Screenprinting is still a more cost effective and stable solution for doing volume orders.

    You are missing the big picture, the Roland bn-20d is focused to small businesses that want Roland quality for cheap, if you get a printer with shaker and all you have to print big quantities to do not lose materials, you have to be printing and printing, the Roland bn-20d is good to do one or two, if your business is bigger than that, it's not for you, but doesn't mean it's not good for someone else

    • @StanBanks
      @StanBanks  Рік тому +2

      I think I get the picture. In comparison to other price points not so sure but I do think it is more reliable.

    • @dnlrico
      @dnlrico Рік тому

      @@StanBanks if you thing it's more reliable then why it's a pass for you? Just because you can't attach the shaker? I'm going to buy this Roland in October because I'm moving to another country where I'll start the business, and my plan for production would be print up to 24" length, cure it, print another 24" while curing the first, then cut it in different prints, so the second 24" will be finished, cure it, print, repeat

    • @dnlrico
      @dnlrico Рік тому

      @@StanBanks even if you had the shaker you have to be there pouring powder and be sure everything is going well, it's not like you send to print and you can do other stuff while the machine is running

    • @StanBanks
      @StanBanks  Рік тому

      It’s less hands on. So you could do other stuff while monitoring technically. You’ll get a rhythm Vs having to cut powder and cure everything by hand.

    • @oakcitycreativearts
      @oakcitycreativearts Рік тому

      @@StanBanks The OP is spot on. The DTF is the closest thing to screenprint quality without the bulky machines and long lead times. I agree that this is perfect for one off orders that 95% of screenprinting shops have to constantly turn away.

    Thank you so much. What machine do you recommend DTF printer?

    • @HelmetVanga
      @HelmetVanga 9 місяців тому +1

      It is hard to answer that. But if you search about DTF printers there are bad experiences people had especially like they one for home use. They keep saying they wasted $3 k and their DTF printers don't work, it requires too much maintenance. There are at least 6 people said, they made a mistake buying these printers like from Alibaba. Maintenance and the hoses clogging up. But what I see is that certain types of DTF printers are making money just printing transfers for other people, this grade of printers are bigger like semi o industrial grade. Audly I believe is the brand, buying in the US is super expensive, the printer guy bought straight from the manufacture in China, in his videos you can see the printers are working. I would search far more in depth before spending any money on these machines. Others are converting their epson printers to print DTF like models L1800 and XP1500.

    You don't need a shake as you can just powder it yourself. If roland adds all the other stuff expect the bn20d to go up to likely $25k or more in price cuz it won't be no china crap that's out there on the market now. Before the shakers and heaters we would powder it but printed the dtf with the dtg printer cuz its the samething. You just had to know how to bypass the epson f2100 settings to print the white.

    • @StanBanks
      @StanBanks  Рік тому

      Yeah it’s a pretty simple setup it’s just not efficient to powder it yourself especially if you have larger orders. The way you run it in the computer is to tell it to return to origin and re-print white. It’s pretty simple.

  • @majpuklic1043

    You’re looking at this the wrong way. You can set it up with a powder shaker, all you have to do is create a file with 2 vertical prints, and click print 50x copies. Then it prints 2 vertical logos (or more, just fill the vertical space), pulls back, and sprays white over, and again until it’s done. This is my third dtf printer and it beats all the chinese versions in terms of quality and reliability.

    • @StanBanks
      @StanBanks  Рік тому

      Hmmm interesting but I’m not understanding.

    • @copybox91
      @copybox91 8 місяців тому +1

      He meant instead of sending 100 images to be printed at once and then waiting for the white to be applied to all of them at once from the beginnning to the end of the roll, he "tricks" the machine by only sending 2 images to the printer and tells it to print the file 50 times.
      So the machine prints only 2 images, rolls back and applies white ink and then proceeds to repeat the process 49 times.
      Therefore it applies the white toner on every 2 images that have been printed and in that way makes it possible to pair Roland with a shaker.
