- Huge find after digging for some hours, it's not a demo per se but definitely something worth posting.
This is an unmastered version of "The Casket of Roderick Usher" and there's quite a lot going on this to talk about.
For starters, there's a second at the start that isn't present in the official version, as for the mix itself, there's some major differences like drums being louder and less drowned out by the guitars, Alex's guitar at the 0:14 mark sounds somewhat different and cleaner and comes from the left channel instead of both channels, the backing vocals during the second verse ("prick your finger and bleed, give the poison to me") can be heard on the right channel and they sound way clearer than before and finally there's even some laugh (similar to the one Nate does at the Greenfield's performance of this song) that seems to not be present in the final mix, this laugh comes after the second verse.
The metadata that came with the file had some interesting stuffs too, although can't confirm them as legit. The file and name track data was called: "buriedalive.mp3" / Buried Alive which could be a possible working title for the song, the album data had "SHTS 1-28-05" on it which could be the date when this version was recorded or maybe sent to the label? And finally it had track 1 of 15 on it, which I presume is all the 14 Say Hello To Sunshine songs + Gak 2.

Never knew there was a demo for this 🥺🔥🔥
Thank you for all these videos!!! Hopefully you have more😊
I managed to unearth a few more things! But that will be more likely all I will have to share from Finch.
- PRO video footage of them playing Letters to You in Japan 2002
- Radio acoustic performance at K-Rock Radio which includes What It Is to Burn and Dumb (Nirvana cover), I think What It Is to Burn hasn't been uploaded here yet but Dumb has.
- On a Plain (Nirvana cover) performance, tho no info about this, but it's definitely Nate singing this (and maybe playing alone).
It wouldn't be the only time he has covered that song. There's a video here on YT on him playing it at a wedding, so yeah.
@@davidchez513 thank you for your efforts, finch in the What it is to burn era and Sunshine era is what got me through life’s challenges in my my 20’s
