the good ol pizza car which got me hooked on your channel I hate seeing it look like that now if i had the money I'd buy and have it shipped to canada where I live
this stuff sounds exactly like "LA's totally awesome " cleaner which is also $1 at most dollar stores, i use it to clean engines my laundry the floor the toilet everything it's the best
The mark of how good Samcrac is when he does a detailed 'how to' like this is that I'm sitting here paying attention as if I'm actually going to do this work to my Ferrari. I don't have a Ferrari.
the reason I like this channel so much is he talks like we all own a Ferrari...telling us what braket we need to start with removing the panel...lol...like it is Toyota Corolla.
@@thatjeff7550 Guess you missed the part where he says it was easy because this easy "because the transmission that comes in these is a real manual". A manual is not an automatic, my initial thought was did their hearing aid fall out? Helen Keller meme. Lol
I was thinking the same. I’m perfectly fine with video sponsorships when they’re related to the channel’s content. I don’t care a VPN or a website builder.
I'm so glad you went with a gated manual swap for the F430 and that should solve 99% of the transmission problems. Now let's hope for no more oil issues.
Thank god this video came out. All of us with Ferraris are big do it your selfers…. Ok but really- Sam sit you will enjoy the driving much more after YOU have made the car work. Big props.
Even though I'm not really a Ferrari fan (the F40 is the exception). I can watch Sam work and learn his thought process. I think that's the most engaging part of his videos.
Been watching Sam for a few yrs. Mechanical genius in my view because he believes in common sense engineering. He's practical n hates getting ripped off
Hi Sam! This is Crazy coincidence! Some 1,5 years ago I learned about CM (dr S it was back then) through your Channel. It took some time for me to Order a set for my 360. It also took quite some time to have my set delivered to me here in Germany. And it was handed over to me actually today, with you posting another DiY Video on the topic! Great man. Thanx. Keep it up making these videos!
I started watching Sam, when I came across the pizza car series and I saw the episode where dominoes was sending letters……..the video was about 3 hours old, so, quite some time ago. Seeing it at the end makes me want to rewatch those.
The part that always gets me watching these is this: These cars are crazy expensive and out of reach for about 99% of us. You'd think that after paying that much money for a car it'd be the most reliable car on the planet. Not so apparently!
Pretty impressive Sam. I feel like a LOT of those things could be 3d printed!! Imagine.. soon we will all be able to use some type of metal and 3d print parts at home for our exotic supercars.. : )
I always find the "SamCrac School for Backyard Ferrari Mechanics" the most amusing part of these videos. Now I really want to try this... Got an extra Ferrari?
Again nice work Sam, All your jobs are clear and easy to follow. Not saying I would or ever could own a Ferrari lol. But another car fixed for you and now up and running. What about the other car that you took to manual kit off of? Are you going to replace it with another manual kit some time later? Look forward to seeing your next video.... From Across The Pond UK England..
So £***£ing cool 😎. I don’t know why more Ferrari owners and UA-camrs haven’t done more F1 trans conversions back to Manuel. More Sam crac holiday special magic. LoL
Hey man you blowing seals out because you need to vent the engine. If it has pcv make it bigger and better. Or put vents to a catch can somewhere. That's what's happening i believe
You’re dope AF brother I’m glad I got to subs years ago and from you I started to DIY on my cars. I now watch other channels too but it’s great I started here 1st. I may look to buy a flooded car from FL to keep. Lamborghini or Ferrari?
Thank you Sam, I have always loved your vids, your cars are dream cars for sure. I have worked on cars for a few years now (I'm not old or anything;) You get through jobs like this with no red dripping... when I work on my Toyota I need many Band-Aids after the job. My old iron does not bite as much:)
I've never waited to tighten down when using gasket sealer. I always torque to spec straight away. Never had anything leak. It's the way I was taught but a mechanic who was in his 70s.
Alfa Romeo also use the F1 transmission, I had exactly this fault, the customers neighbour had renewed a sensor and failed to engage the potentiometer arm with the shift fork on refitting the cover.
What are you doing with the Ferrari 599, the one that Ben of V Tune worked on? I see it sitting out in your yard by the fence. Are you done with it? Are you going to finish it?
i guess they thought we were a bunch of gullible people on UA-cam and buy some cleaner for 115$ a gallon that's crazy as hell 😮 come on Sam your better than that
Heyyyy, you still have the pizza car? I guess I never followed that saga until its completion - I thought you must have lost that battle. Glad to see you won! Oh, and great video on the shifter swap. I'll consider doing it on my 430...if I ever buy a 430...
this reminds me of when Homer Simpson was attempting to follow along with the v.h.s. instructions from Troy McClure, with his half assed approach to foundation repair....."hand me my patching trowel boy".....edit.. no way am i sayin Sam's comparable with Homer, before you kick off.✌Sam knows how to place product
Amazon, search stud extractor. The kit comes with 4 or 5 sockets. I originally bought it when I broke a stud on my Ferrari 360s valve cover trying it without this tool. It saved the day!
My 360 is incredibly reliable . TCU upgraded to Challenge Stradale . Fuel pumps replaced preemptively as well as transmission heat exchanger. The valve covers mist a little but no drips. No main seal issues . Maybe I got lucky
Interesting swap kit, I'd probably have broken down and just paid the 2X extortion price for whats available. But then again, I could see where a high performance car probably should have been Manual in the first place! (or would it have been more accurate to say, Manual to the cockpit, not just manual till you put a bunch of Hydraulics on it) Say, doesn't that poor formerly Pizza car deserve at least an occasional wash? It was looking kinda grungy in the back.
Buying a manual kit to convert is not the problem, it's buying the ferrari to do it on!? Seriously Sam, maybe buy and fix something that almost anyone can buy. Next thing maybe get a Bugatti like other youtubers that are lost and have completely forgot the audience that help build them. Maybe fix something cool that isn't a super car. I really hope you are not to far gone. I still have respect for you. Thanks for a very informative video that nobody will use to actually convert anything😢
I thought the Actuator was part of the conversation; that it was part of the hydroshift hand controller? [Edit] Oh, this is a cable shift. I guess that better, at least for a Ferrari. One less thing to leak.

hey sam, is this your full time job or are you trained as something else in real life?
Ferraris are such a mishmash. Check your coolant lines on the 430, they are prone to fail and tend to explode. Love what you do Sam!

A Corolla has better build quality
That might be true but no guy has ever dreamed about getting a bj in a Corolla @@Samcrac
His oldest videos have the same premises too, he's been doing these types of flips and rebuilds for years now. But he gets better
Me me me … why didn’t he make this video about me?
Wait one minute. You all don’t own a Ferrari?
That manual kit was seriously impressive. Made the 430 into a proper Ferrari and added value at the same time …. Win win 🥇
Making car better by removing original parts...now that is real YT certified mechanic magic! 😎
Yeah my initial thought was, "This car is originally an automatic? [Ryan Reynolds meme] Why?"

U shud take that 360 off Mr.Cracs hands!
It's good to see you back in the States and helping your mate sort out the gated manual swap.
Had the pleasure of meeting Sam last week. Genuinely nice guy. Well deserving of his success. And thanks for this vid!
Hoping I get to meet him and shake his hand. Granddaughter lives in Ocala
Sam is an expert salesman. You barely notice the brand placements
I was thinking the same. I’m perfectly fine with video sponsorships when they’re related to the channel’s content. I don’t care a VPN or a website builder.
I'm proud of you samcrac for converting & driving a manual in the land of automatic gearboxes!
I'm so glad you went with a gated manual swap for the F430 and that should solve 99% of the transmission problems. Now let's hope for no more oil issues.
430?
Now we all can finally fix our Ferrari F1 transmissions!
😂
😂
You're just jelly bcs Sam has several ones and most of us never even sat in a manual Ferrari 😂
Thank god this video came out. All of us with Ferraris are big do it your selfers….

Thanks!
Not even the SP3 Daytona?
The 360 is by far a better than the 430 - change my mind. I drive a Geo Metro so I know what I'm talking about!
Pretty much the same car really. I think the aesthetics of the 360 are superior. But 430 has a little more HP.
Been watching Sam for a few yrs. Mechanical genius in my view because he believes in common sense engineering. He's practical n hates getting ripped off
You didn't just fix the transmission, you fixed the whole Ferrari!
Well, that was a very succinct and cogent how-to vid Sam. I am impressed. You're legit a good teacher. Nicely done.
6 years have passed. I have grown old with this channel. Love cars

That's the paradox! Think about how many were emotional purchases...and are now under car covers and undrivable because of something silly...
I see the white ferrari in the field. Still waiting on that video. I know you will get to it eventually.
You and Scott are the Ferrari dream team! Keep up the great work..
Samcracc that’s an amazing conversion! Thank you for sharing this!
Pretty impressive Sam. I feel like a LOT of those things could be 3d printed!! Imagine.. soon we will all be able to use some type of metal and 3d print parts at home for our exotic supercars.. : )
Great how to video Sam. I like all the F1 to full manual conversion videos I see.
Never get rid of the 360 sam. That thing is the gift that keeps on giving.
Let me see if I understood what I just watched. This guy just “DIY” a Ferrari clutch from automatic to manual at a barn on a farm?
I always find the "SamCrac School for Backyard Ferrari Mechanics" the most amusing part of these videos.
Now I really want to try this... Got an extra Ferrari?
Sam is so knowledgeable about so many cars, I can’t imagine even starting to attempt this.
Just watching it was difficult.
At the end I was waiting for the “Oh no…” Glad there wasn’t any…Awesome as always Sam.
You made that look easy ,the secret must be in the Kit and what is supplied with it ,and your past expiration with Ferrari is helping .
I believe this conversion more than paid for itself simply by increasing it's resale value!
For the first time ever, I didn't mind the commercial spliced into a video. I'd actually buy that Release stuff.
Again nice work Sam, All your jobs are clear and easy to follow. Not saying I would or ever could own a Ferrari lol.

The kit is not cheap.
Cool that it's not too difficult to swap to manual.
Back into Ferraris - this is the Samcrac we know and love! 🎉
Thanks for sharing and taking us along
So he started with one working and one broken Ferrari and after a bunch of work, has one broken and one working Ferrari.
give it a couple of weeks tho

Always loved the 430. Classic lines. Both modern and respectful of past Ferrari's. So expensive here in Australia. Ill never own one unfortunately.
A very interesting video , I'll never be able to afford a Ferrari , but I sure like watching you work on them .
Best video u gave made to date ,well done

Must be a great comfort to have Ratarossa give a hand 🇬🇧🇺🇲👌
Excellent tutorial and very helpful content. 👌👌👌
now that I think about it, this is the only time I have ever seen Sac clean one of his cars...😮😮😅
Had a Ferrari for 5 years. I swear I got maybe 6 weeks of actual use out of it. It was always breaking! I sold it and never looked back.
What are you doing with the Ferrari 599, the one that Ben of V Tune worked on? I see it sitting out in your yard by the fence. Are you done with it? Are you going to finish it?
You give me the confidence to go buy something I shouldn’t.
CHF hack, you can pull the plastic pouring area out and it creates a tube, a spout to help pour.
Sam, the car still needs an ECU update so it knows its a manual, correct?
You should make a re-creation of Scott’s outro with you and him to use whenever he makes an appearance in a video.
That was really educational. Loved it!
Amazing conversion.. So Smooth...
Nice fix especially with all those F1 issues
If you ask the dealership to fix it, they will ask you to drove a tractor instead.
And soon, Samcrac supercar is born.
i guess they thought we were a bunch of gullible people on UA-cam and buy some cleaner for 115$ a gallon that's crazy as hell 😮 come on Sam your better than that
To be fair. The chf11 was around 10$ canadian just 5 years ago... The price REALLY exploded during covid !
An old Italian saying goes like this if there's no oil beneath the car there is no oil in the car
Great guide. Thanks Mate
Very cool 😎 great narration !

Gated shifters crack me up. A gated shifter means the trans is so bad they put a plate on the shifter so you can find the gear.
OK. When I see a cleaning product and it goes from start to clean I don't believe it. It's like infomercials so no thanks.
The shoddy workmanship of Ferrari never ceases to amaze me. The casting for the gearbox housing seems really poorly finished.
Samcrac - That stud extractor looked great. Do you have a link to purchase it, or the brand name?
Amazon, search stud extractor. The kit comes with 4 or 5 sockets. I originally bought it when I broke a stud on my Ferrari 360s valve cover trying it without this tool. It saved the day!
Another great video. You’re on a roll!
Do you need to code out the F1 shifter? Needs a paddle delete on the steering wheel too?
Yes.
Was expecting abnormal smoke towards the end. My bad sam 😅
My 360 is incredibly reliable . TCU upgraded to Challenge Stradale . Fuel pumps replaced preemptively as well as transmission heat exchanger. The valve covers mist a little but no drips. No main seal issues . Maybe I got lucky

never thought i’d say this but if only other cars transmission swapping was as easy as that of a Ferrari….atleast these generations
One of the best channels
Perfect DIY for all Ferrari owners..
How about cleaning all around where the clutch master cylinder was mounted...? I guarantee you knocked some dirt into the clutch cylinder.
Nice job Sam!
Seems like it would be easier to hook up the line and bench bleed the master cylinder before installing it.
grass needs cutting its growing cars..
Sam can fixed any thing
Love your work. Why don't you remove studs with two nuts forced together so that they hold the stud?
What you gonna do with the paddle shifter? It's awkward to see manual shifter with paddle shifters still attached
You're incredible, don't stop creating videos!
Are we making the green one manual or the red one? I’m confused 😊
