Cool to see Phill watching his boy playing behind the kit , sad to see him sitting down . Saw him during Wind n Wuthering tour he was all over the place ! They where some of the greatest !!!
In Toronto I had seats behind the 2 drummers ,,Chester Thompson and Colins it was thrilling to watch such skill! so I returned the next night I had the same seats for the second night so close ..I will never forget this. 40 years later..
Genesis are still amazing after 50 years; the sad thing, though, is watching all these people standing up, getting drinks, not giving a f*#@ about either the music or the show, moving from here to there, talking, laughing...
Yes its unbelievable - I had to tell the bloke next to me at the 1st Newcastle show that I came to hear Genesis' music not shouting at his mate all night how it compared to Leeds, which album this track was from, what the beer is like etc etc

Exactly. The people who got up to go get beer or go to the restroom during Cinema Show/Afterglow have not followed Genesis through the years and are just casual observers.
What a performance from the giants of prog rock. Amazing drumming from Nick! Incredible to think back to 1977 when they recorded the live version of afterglow on seconds out... Hang on... that's 44 years ago!! How time has flown. An enormous credit to the professionalism of such a great band and the legacy of music that they have left for the benefit of everyone. Cannot believe they can still play so well into their 70's. Just brilliant.
After all these years of huge success, both behind and in front of the drumkit, nothing can be better than having your own son playing with you, in a band where all the story once began. Phil Collins ought to be proud!
Nothing could be better? How about having the physical ability to play those drums yourself? Or having the physical ability to sing the song without having it lowered three keys? Or havingthe physical ability to stand up for an extended period of time?
Delightful to hear Nic playing both Chester's as well as his dad's parts on this - and Phil doing his best "air drumming" right along with his son. Priceless!
Such an abundance of joy emanates from this stage, these talented musicians. What a gift to be able to watch this here in NYC tonight. ❤️ and much respect.
having physical issues myself from a stroke in '15, I can relate to what Phil is experiencing. Being the same age it sucks to watch yourself deteriorate. But hats off to the man. Stay strong and carry on. one of my all time favorite Genesis songs. Holding out hope to see them in December in Columbus OH.
Amazing. I've known the Genesis group since the 70s. I watched it in Rio de Janeiro in 1975. I'm a musician and passionate about Genesis. Thank you Genesis for experiencing so many wonderful emotions. Thank you.
My all time favorite band's but sad to watch one of the greatest wither before our eye's as we all will as father time call's our names...! Keep on rippin Phil...(:
Genesis still has a stellar sound and presentation. Always top shelf. If I could magically heal Phil…believe me, I would. I wonder how proud he is of his son.
The instrumental part of Cinema Show is the best piece of music I have heard in any concert since 1973. I have seen it live several times with Genesis and Hackett and it always blows my mind. Its sad how Phil is physically doing and more so that his beautiful singing voice has left him. Luckily I have the memories from seeing him live so many times with Genesis and solo. I hope all the best to him.

Proud father looking his boy playing drums as a master. Great moment in this video. Great concert! Phil is looking better day after day touring around.

We have to consider that this tour was Phill's farewell relative to his audience not with the glow of Phill's golden years but with a high sentimental charge for the entire career of one of the biggest bands despite Phill's voice not having the life of formerly this tour was necessary for the farewell to become effective.
On one hand, I'm glad to see the band out there keeping the music alive. On the other, it's painful to hear Phil struggling with the singing. And his son, while a good drummer, just lacks the groove and nuance of his dad. I hate the way time ravages our bodies.

What a great band! I say that with emotion in my voice and they just don't make music like that no more what a class act I saw Genesis back in 76' at Winterland in San Fran after Gabriel left the band. They were incredible then and they are still incredible now! Thanks to Genesis for making a difference and for all the music and for the fish!
@ I might have the year wrong but they were on tour in support of their album "Wind and Wuthering" we had managed to work our way down close to the stage and got some really good pics with a cheap Kodak instamatic camera, I wish I still had those pics. I remember something really pungent odor in the concert hall might have been opium or some really dank hash, but even Phil Collins said something about it.

Geniais, eternos, uma pérola rara, Genesis.
Wow, that must have been a great show?!
@@larrysnipes7113 ha ha ha, I LOVE IT!! And those pictures, please find them!!! 🙂❤
Love
I wish Peter would join Phil just once on stage. Harmonize together. Just for one big hug for old time sake.
I would love to see that!
So many people just don’t appreciate this band for how great they are, even despite being in the audience
You're right
Played drums from 11, 65 now and can't do it anymore. Had good times though
Nic does a great job, but I hear Chester & Phil in my head. The backing singers' harmonies sound wonderful.
Same here. I miss Chester and Phil's drums
One of the all time greats on stage and the Neanderthals still getting the beers in! 😤
Ha ha, yes. Saturday in Manchester. What can one do?!
@ 😄
