Genesis - The Last Domino Live in Philadelphia Night Two {12/3/2021}

- Here we go! Night two in Philly! Which night was better? PLEASE feel free to let me know in the comments below! This night I decided to do what most others seem to not do as well, and that is focus a bit on NIC who absolutely KILLS those skins! So if you are a drummer out there, please enjoy my attempt to give Nic the spotlight!
There is, alas a small {huge and very rookie} set of mistakes that happened last night, and for that I sincerely apologize! During not one, not two, but THREE SONGS (Domino, Invisible Touch and most painfully Carpet Crawlers) I very briefly accidentally hit stop recording while trying to take pictures of the band 😬. Nonetheless it is the full show! Please enjoy!

His voice sounds so much better, not straining at all! His voice is so unique and this is impressive!!
I was there in Philly second night! It was awesome. I still have my ticket stub from 1981 at the Spectrum; it was $8.00. Went to see them again at JFK Stadium the summer of ‘82, the summer I graduated high school and before starting college. This concert brought back the best of memories back in the day when life was so easy, not a care in the world and music was epic! Genesis will always be my favorite from the early seventies to mid eighties. Thank you for capturing it to watch over and over!!
I too was at that concert, for the second night. I remember seeing Phil down at the Spectrum as a solo artist doing the 1990 "Serious Tour". This was the second time in my lifetime I got to see Phil, but this was Phil as Genesis.
I was at this show! Section 5 on the floor. A memory I will never forget. Thank you Tony, Mike, Phil, Daryl, and Nik, and also Peter, Steve, Chester, Bill Bruford, Anthony Phillips, Ray Wilson, and everyone else who played with them throughout the years.
Me too. Balcony level. I always was a fan of Phil and Genesis. In fact, I got all of Phil's records and Genesis records, too! This was the best Christmas gift, EVER!!!
nicely said... it is amazing how many people forget Steve Hackett and Ray Wilson... Hacktt was little seen in the video montage on stage and Ray Wilson not at all...
I was same section row 10 bonecanoe86! Where were you sitting?
We were up in the upper deck. Still worth it.
Ola mi,,,amor, un mío es un como,,esta
I flew from Memphis to see them in DC a few weeks ago. A - fantastic job. Nic is amazing, but seeing Phil airdrum breaks my heart...
That part gutted me a bit not even gonna lie. Seeing him air play to Firth Of Fifth and other songs he was a BEAST on was the saddest part.
Tears were shed during Duchess.... that was such an incredible surprise...especially split apart from Behind the Lines! I saw them sunday at MSG, and yeah, phil is hurting, but my god did he put forth an effort - and his son killed it on drums.
well done phil and genesis you have been there through my life the soundtrack to it almost ...its not easy to sit and sing anyways but watching your son play is a great testimony to how great you where has a drummer ....youve given so much to us ....people forget youve been doing this for over18250 days which is a long time ........so phil sit back relax your still the man what good show thanks for the post
Philly showing much deserved love to Mr Anthony Grorge Banks
I love Genesis since I was young and every day I listen Genesis. His son on the drum is spectacular just like is father Phil Collins ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks for the music Phil, you are one of the greatest artists of all time, the best companion i ever had through many years, and of course the legend GENESIS!!
Brilliant Front man, Entertainer, Singer, Song Writer, Drummer, Musician did I miss anything?
you did@@LoneLee2022 ....Actor!
@@jatinderdevgun9093 There ya go!
I am die hard Genesis fans from Indonesia, i am very happy to see this full concert of Genesis, thanks very much Duke Albert...both of the video (1st & 2nd) I have watched and they're all fantastic for me
Thank you for the kind words! It means a lot to me that someone on the other side of the world is able to enjoy these shows!
Sad to see the previously energetic Phil having to perform in a chair but the music is as good as it ever was. Keep going lads.
Duke, nice to meet you. I can not thank you enough for capturing one of the greatest experiences of my life. I was there w my bf in the front row and being g that close to Phil was a dream come true.. I can actually see myself having the time of my life. You captured something so special I can not thank you enough. God is good!! I hope you get this message. Please respond. I cried the while show bc it means so much to me. Fantastic videography and the sound is incredible...how did you ever do it so well!!!
I was there too, last night! I remember seeing Phil down at the Spectrum back in 1990 for his Serious Tour.
You can't be Serious.
@@LoneLee2022 I AM DEAD SERIOUS!!
Seriously?
This is a great upload. thank you!
Thank you very much for posting this. It will forever be a cherished memory.
Thank you for posting,I went to both Philly shows and really enjoyed this tour.
I went to both Philly shows this tour and the crowd was SO AWESOME both nights but especially THIS SHOW!!! Thanks for taping & posting!!! LOVE GENESIS FANS!!
I was there for night 2, doing my part!!! :) (Sec 104, Row 13)
Was a great night, a chance to see them one last time. 👌
Thanks for posting this. Was there.
I saw them in 77, 78 in Dallas and 83 in Ames Iowa. They sold out at the Iowa State football stadium in around early 90s. They played the long songs for awhile then the popular songs every 30 minutes twice. It was in order for each fans to be able to go and get their refreshments.
You did an excellent job on recording both shows...im bummed out I missed the show .
Your videos were 5 star !!
Loved also how u did the domino scan of the crowd .
2 thumbs up.
Will miss this band.
Always followed them
Over 2 hours at his age!! That is incredible. Wonderful video!!!!!
Thank you for getting this show posted. You had better seats than I did 😄
Thanks so much for uploading, You are a true gentleperson.
Awesome quality, thank you very much for sharing it with us all! Greetings from Hungary! :)
I was there. Thanks for posting!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You've done a great job following the action, most impressed!
Whoever uploaded this, Thanks. Very kind of you, to post this. I was there that same night, with my mom and brother and we sat in the balcony level.
Excellent Video even from the crowd, but a way to feel better the concert as you were there at the venue...No doubt GENESIS is the Super Band of Progressive Rock of this Era, Phil is one of the best singer of the Genre.
Sounds great! Im going to see them in NY this Friday.
I can’t believe I am just finding this amazing recording now!! I went to the MSG shows and was thrilled to have heard the band!😊
Nik Collins - hardest working musician on the stage
I was there the night before! Loved the show! I taped it too. Thanks for sharing! My favorite song was the encore … Carpet Crawlers
Kudos to Phil for doing this while sitting all the time. I loved this!
Thank Duke I go see the show with my 11 year old boy - drummer. It's great to hear it again, great memories.
Duke.....you are the man! Thank you SO MUCH for posting this particular show.....I was there that night, down on the floor close to where you wer and to be able to rewatch and relive that amazing show brings me great joy. I was hoping they come out with a Blu-ray of this tour but this might even top that due to the sentimental value of being there..... Thanks again friend!
Absolutely!!! I felt it was a duty to record both nights to be able rewatch and relive the nights over again!

Thank you❣️
Thank you Phil,Mike,Daryl and Nic...
I was there, 2 balconies up, with still a great view, and the videos on screen were SO GOOD.
Loved watching from this perspective, as it highlighted Tony Banks & Daryl Stuermer.
I am also from Milwaukee, as Daryl is.
Thanks you once again!
Flew all the way from Singapore to catch this. Worth it.
Dang! You have me beat! I ONLY flew from Alaska lol! I recently bought a Shergold Doubleneck similar to Mike’s old one from Australia coincidently.
THANK YOU Duke Albert!!
Ihr seid so wunderbar. Für mich die größte Band in der Musikgeschichte.Einzigartig👏👏
Wow, Duke! Great job on getting both Philly shows! Looks like you had our seats from 12/2 on 12/3 (section 3, row 18). Really appreciate your tenacity in recording them and you did a great job. Hopefully, you'll have the energy to record the next shows in Phily about 14 years from now!!!
Thanks!!! Flew all the way from Alaska to do so! But it was WELL worth it! And in honor of the typical Taping Legacy, I just wanted to do my part in getting these shows in addition to enjoying them personally of course.
@@dukealbert7017 Alaska??? Wow, now I KNOW you're a devoted fan! I only had to travel from NJ!!! Been going to Genesis concerts since 1986 and have been blessed to see them over 20 times. While they certainly aged, they still put on a tremendous show. Again, thanks for your tremendous support of the band and capturing 2 of the best shows of 2021! God bless!!
I was there! Section 110-111 3rd row. Incredible show!
Wow. You got the whole show. I attended second night in Toronto in Nov 26. I was up by the front. The sound up there was astonishing. I could not believe how clear and strong was that sound. Something I can not get is how the production moves all that equipment between cities and set everything up for the next show in such a short period of time.
This exactly. I was at both Toronto shows and I'm looking back on my footage from both nights and I'm just stunned at how decent the audio is. exactly why I really dislike going to shows at the Rogers center since acoustics in there absolutely stink.
The strobe ish lights at the end of Mama with the drum fills are awesome! Oh!
Genesis' lights are awesome, period. Oh! From mtw and 99 in Del Rey, California.
His son knocked down his chops that’s a lot of hard work well done.
Seen this tour in Manchester uk. Was good even for someone who isn't a major fan.
Tks Duke Albert
I've been a fan since the late 70's, i've met them all on a few occasions. I've spent,,,,well lets just say a lot on gigs all over the world,,,,but i couldn't and wouldn't spend the extortionate price, to see my friend struggle so badly. It breaks my heart, and yes i know there's many that will say i'm wrong, but you've never cried when you hear the original versions live, and this,,,,the last domino falls so so short. In 1992, when they played "Fading Lights" live,,,,,i cried buckets knowing THAT was thee last ever Genesis song with Phil at the mic. For all of you, i hope you enjoy them for the last time,,,,,,you should have been there when they were at their best
Saw them 7 times! All 3 nights at the Spectrum on the Mama tour in 83!
Saw them at MSG over the weekend. I agree (as a drummer), Nic just killed it. Show was fantastic but no ABACAB?? What??? I was stunned but that was about it.
Honestly so was I considering they put it on the compilation! I was more upset they didn’t do the end of the Musical Box!
@@dukealbert7017 It was certainly odd that I had heard that Nic said in an interview that end of Suppers Ready and Musical Box were indeed rehearsed but never performed. Would have been cool as hell to see those but I suppose that's what the Tribute bands are for now.
Thnx for this superb footage! It seems like Phil’s voice is way stronger than it was during earlier show this year.
Thnx to Genesis for being there for almost all of my life. You guys wrote, performed and recorded my life’s soundtrack. Looking forward to see Genesis in Cologne next year!
Love ya Phil,Always.
Nice to hear u mention ray xx 💋 I like every about the band ? Cas is great album !! IMO ?
VIVE TONY BANKS !!!!!
Obrigado Gênesis, obrigado Mr. Collins🇧🇷🥁
Great audience singing on Tonight,Tonight, Tonight!
Going tonite ar MSG can’t wait!!!!!!
I saw them at MSG in the 80's for the Invisible Touch tour. It was one of the best concerts I ever saw
Wonderful
Great show I was there for the 1st show Dec 2 I wish Phil and his son did a little something like they did on his last solo tour for. A drum duet
Just be thankful that Phil can still sing - aren't you aware of his inability to play the drums now? I know Phil would love to be able to perform.
Thanks for sharing.. was there for this one! I miss Abacab :( But, the rest of the show was awesome!
I was at this show. Lot's of fun. I was maybe ten rows back from the person who took this video but more on the left side.
That was me, row 8.
Think night two sounded better, I was at night one.. an excellent video. Night one was also a great show!
I went to the Genesis concert yesterday!!! Wow, how was it?? I don't know I'm gonna watch it tonight.
I guess you can say that Phil sure put the "Phil" in "Philadelphia"!!
Dude…thank you so much for sharing this amazing video. Well done. I don’t know how you can hold so steady for 2+ hours but you did a great job. Again, thank you 🙏
Большое спасибо!!
This was the second time in my lifetime that I saw Phil perform Live in Philadelphia. But, this was Phil Collins billed as “Genesis”.
This was great fun though it’s hard watching Phil struggle. I am a drummer and my main influence was Carl Palmer but it was Phil who taught me I could play left-handed while everyone was trying to make me play right so thank you Phil. I think both shows have some great strengths, I think combining them was a good idea.
Carl palmer was maybe great technically but no musicality compared to Phil and you can’t teach that.
@@progpuss I would agree early but I like Carl’s work with Asia I feel it is quite musically up there as they turned into a more radio friendly band , but you’re correct with Phil I’m just sad to see him in such decline
@@progpuss Phil had a style all his own.
I know why they called the tour "Last Domino"---I have always loved the song, Domino", and thought it has all the collective strengths of the individual musicians-- especially Tony Banks. Bank's solo interlude is the best melody of all time and give me chills and tears! Love this band.
Saw the show in Cleveland, OH....last week. If you're a fan .....I would HIGHLY recommend going folks. It was REALLY good. They even did a nice helping of older stuff too!
I was there! It was awesome! I was a little disappointed though that they didn't do ...In the air tonight
@@reneeauxier2852 Yeah....I thought myself they might do that song....since I think it will be Phil's last performance in Clevelburg.....but who knows...they might do it in other shows along the US tour....either way, I think it was a pretty decent show...
Phil has become Peter's old man in Musical Box.
awesomw show, i hope so that`s no the last Domino
Call me crazy, but wouldn't it be cool if, for the final show in London, Peter and Steve showed up and sang and played for this final encore? 2:14:19
I thought it would be a good ending to have (original) The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway / Watcher of the Skies ending (alla Encore Tour) for the very ending (transposed, obviously). Maybe preceded by Dance on a Volcano first verses like the 1992 Old Medley.
Also I miss Los Endos, it would sound awesome.
Ray is the singer they wanted all along !
R.I.P...Phil we love you....
Not Dead Yet
I hope he does one more tour.
Wish they still played Los Endos. But if you’re like me and miss old Genesis music from the 70s and want to hear it live then go see Steve Hackett’s Genesis Revisited Band because they are incredible.
That’s the best part of being in 2021! We are UTTERLY spoiled for choice! THE Genesis, Hackett, The Musical Box with their 1970-78 EXTRAVAGANZA, and The Genesis Show covering Three Sides Live and MORE!!!
Привет.Я из России,спасибо за то что запечатлели на камеру мою любимую группу.Нет мою жизнь,я в очередной раз под впечатлением,насколько человек предан своему делу,музыке(' имею ввиду Филла),что несмотря на болезнь держит марку.
I was there both nights but back in Sec 106. I thought night two was much better. The sound had more clarity between guitars and keys. Also drum toms were better. Almost lost first night. Phil didn't lose his place as much on second night singing. Very glad to have been there both nights.
Same here! And couldn’t agree more! The mix was WAY better on night two! Much more clarity and more BASS!!! Tony’s keys on songs like Duchess didn’t get buried in the mix as well. I just wish Mike’s doubleneck was better mixed for Duchess.
OMG - My name is Kirk and my best friend in this world was a guy named Thad! He passed away ten years ago, still very sad...
So glad they did Duchess instead of Misunderstanding.
I wish they did both! 😂 They definitely had time and Nic seemed to have a sick transitional fill between that and Firth of Fifth!
@@dukealbert7017 I was hoping for a treat for us. Like Wot Gorilla.
@@WintersWar I was hoping for Squonk, I really wish they had more in the medley with Nic at least Slippermen!
@@WintersWar Eleventh Earl Of Mar or One For The Vine woulda been nice. Or Ripples.
Deep In The Motherlode would have been the ultimate surprise.
I saw almost all the videos posted from the European shows and Americans shows, and probably the last two in Philadelphia are the better sung by Phil
Great performance, irony, and funny from all the Band
For Phil so loves Genesis that he gives us one of his only begotten Sons
It was a great show, I wish they would have done Jesus He Knows Me.
Excellent camera work on both nights! You did very well for a self-proclaimed rookie. If you ever need a kidney, please DM me -- I owe you! Would you mind sharing what camera you used to record this? The video and audio is outstanding on yours and I am in the market.
I had a Sony A6400 I WISHED I could’ve brought in, the lens I had was way too big to try to smuggle in. So in a twist of fate, both nights were shot on iPhone Xs. Night one on my wife’s, night two on mine.
@@dukealbert7017 Wow, an iPhone Xs. Thanks!
SCRUB DADDY !!!!!
Phil’s boy done good.
Kiss and Genesis will tour in their Depends.😄
This sounds like Yes.
This is a fairytale!
How I missed Los Endos on this farewell tour... Absent since We Can't Dance Tour 1992, Genesis would perform it again since then in 2007, the last time we saw Phil drumming along with Chester Thompson.
Don't know the reason it was dropped of this last domino, but theories are:
A) Phil would want to drum in that song along his son, and since he can't do it anymore, they didn't perform it
B) Nic Collins thinks he can't do the drum solo and/or the drum parts of Los Endos alone without a second drummer (despite this, he did a drum solo alone in 2019 Phil's Not Dead Yet tour, that sounded almost like an actual duet)
Also, it's me or the lead synths sound rawer than in 2007? Say what you think about digital vs. analog synths, but 2007 ones sounded huger, fatter. These sound badly programmed
WOW whats the date of this concert
December 3rd, 2021. I was there with my mom and brother!!
Kind of sad. What happened to him? I saw them in the late 70's promoting the Abacab album. Makes me feel old.

Not the same energy with Phil like that!
Phil looks like his liver is sticking way out there! Was he a heavy drinker? Hepatitis?
Sadly yes, he mentioned it in his book in the early 2010s after retiring he went DEEP into alcoholism and nearly died a couple of times.
@@dukealbert7017 Never had a clue, thanks!
@@dukealbert7017 He was a workaholic who became an alcoholic because he wasn't a workaholic anymore.
@@dukealbert7017 Alcoholism has clearly exacerbated some of his physical issues, as well as having a weak singing voice and evident cognitive isses (i.e his vocal timing is now somewhat slack). Having first seen Genesis at Knebworth in 1978 and numerous times upto 2007, this performance is painful to watch.
I noticed they didn't thank Philadelphia on Twitter like they did every town before and after the shows. Something untoward happened we don't know about. Disappointing.
I noticed too!!! Very disappointed in that honestly!
@@dukealbert7017 My best guess, the local press didn't write a review of the band.
Where is Chester????
Phil and Chester had some disagreement after the release of Phil's "Going Back" album. Chester was not very happy with the drumming on the said album, so he and Phil parted ways.
?
The best part of the video was when we got to see the stage on the screen of ANOTHER idiot who filmed it with HIS phone!! :-D
