Wharton is my absolute dream MBA program... but doubtful that will ever materialize. But wow, I don't know how I never heard of Wall Street Prep. I'll definitely check out your link!
Very informative and insightful content. For someone who does not have top IVY League degree, investments banking or management consulting experience, what would be the initial steps to start networking and what small PE firms would you recommend?
Hi, my friend, your videos are so useful and great for me! Could you please share a bit what has happened with you after you left the IB and ended the startup you told us about 2 years ago? You came back to IB?
Maybe I am wrong but I guess the part you missed is where LF/HY credit experience can be another avenue for breaking in PE. Let me know what you think.
I have an engineering undergrad and have been in engineering software sales for the past 14 years. It's been a lucrative profession for me, but I've always wanted to do PE. I haven't done it to this point because I got married and had kids young. I'm now at the age where I can pursue and Executive MBA (full-time is out of the cards for me) and have a great program (UT McCombs) right in my backyard. Would you recommend this path to get into PE (even if I would start in investment banking)?
Hi Ben, thanks for the video! Love it man, especially the memes 😂. I was wondering whether the offer from the headhunter(s) in your early days as an IB analyst were given only to those in US? Let's say I'm not in US, how do I know they have started the on-cycle recruitment?
Thanks for the vids!!! but still wondering if the certificate program really helps my resume to stand out from other candidates? i dun have IB fulltime experience 😢
It’s crazy because I don’t many if any whom broke into IB and PE with Wall Street prep certificates. That program is more for personal use and possibly a money grab.
Hi Ben, will on-cycle recruiting be available to a post MBA IB associate within the first few months? I'm currently applying to top B schools but come from an engineering background.
Hi Ben! I was wondering since headhunters play a crucial part in the recruiting process, do you think it is a good idea to network with headhunters from these firms you listed? I was wondering if you have any recommendations on what type of people to reach out and what type of questions should be asked? That'll be very very helpful, thanks!
Yes, a good relationship with headhunter can go a long way, specifically in the long run; If your unhappy in a position these guys can help put your name out there for open positions.
Investment banking and private equity are very interesting. Kinda wish AI wasn’t going to take over the industry… it’s going to become virtually impossible to get into in the next 10 years and only available at high roles

After the startup, I started rareliquid and after a year or so, I started going to Wharton for my MBA while continuing youtube.

Hi, your videos are very helpful. Quick question - what is a 2-years analyst programme? Are you referring to Internships or something?
banking programs are usually 2 years
Very informative video. I work in a small PE firm as Assistant Accountant but I want to switch to analyst role. What is the best way to do so?
Thanks.
