flying helos in DCS is a very up and personal exprience. This video shows what you could expect when flying in a cold war setting.

Awesome! Looks superb and fun! Been having fun on ECW and especially on the Tempest blue flash lately though solo most of the time.
The experience is the most important and as long as you enjoy DCS thats good. You also dont have to watch your wingman being shot and behaving like "the new guy on the job" again. :) . When I fly alone its mostly practicing rocket engagements or something though.
Agreed but it is more fun with someone to talk to, that goes for all multiplayer Sims I've flown.
I find Tempest Blue flash, Gray flag and blue flag better as it is now though. Last few sorties I've done on ECW it's been nothing but air quake without any thought from people to make it home. Take off, kill or be killed, rinse and repeat.
I love how everyone puts their "Tactical Voice" when playing these Milsims

@@helldivermando Guten Morgen, also ich flieg ebenfalls hauptsächlich Hubschrauber, und die Harrier. Und das vorwiegend auf dem Server der Royal Jackdaws. Wo bist du so unterwegs, bist du Mitglied in einem Geschwader oder meistens nur alleine auf Multiplayer Server Unterwegs ?

I don't know if I was on while you were but I made it a priority as GCI to make sure to send fixed wing towards hinds and hips any time I saw them pop up. Hips and Hinds are biggest mud movers on red.
Are you talking about exactly this sortie? They are great helos and add to the team effort. To be honest, since ECW has become an Airquake for a very long time, we fly there less.
@helldivermando I am not sure there is a strong possibility I was Bellwether 1-1. A good tip however when on caucuses the southern sectors are very hard for the GCI to see and most of Syria is very hard to see air units. The 2.9 update has made GCI almost useless on most maps. Though on Caucuses I can see and help players in the north.

I love cold war cuz I not crazy looking screen display within a screen display, I rather see the action from right outside cockpit....close and personal.

По моему это самый классный вертолет из всех ламповых вертолетов. Хотя в ваших руках любой вертолет приобретает ореол крутости
Да это верно. Вертолет очень знаковый, и мне он тоже очень нравится. Я также летал на Apache в DCS, но почему-то американский вертолет не успевает.

i play in VR b/c of the immersion and i find i fly the helo better. But damn....i DO miss the graphics of the landscape with everything maxed out. Not such a big difference in jets at high/med altitude...but low level it is
That’s a one of the points why a lot people don’t fly VR (or not anymore). Especially after the latest larger release cycles and with the introduction of multithreading there will be more coming like a more realistic shadow system. Are you considering to drop VR or fly mor rotor? 😎
erstmal danke für das video mando, so kritisch wie ich schon in vergangen videos war.sound abmischung ist gut BIS auf den filter und die lautstärke vom wingman. das BOOOB beim aktivieren und deaktivieren des funks geht klar aber das grundrauschen und der filter der damit auf seiner "stimme" liegt, welche das "funken" imitieren soll ist zu laut! ich würde 15-20% schätzen deine stimme ist zu ruhig "bestimmt" und abgestimmt auf music UND ig sounds. aber bei jedem funkspruch von ihm ist das so komplett brechend der atmo, so mit auge zusammenkneifen weil wieder einer direkt rein redet... (btw ende mit dem voice over ist auch lauter als deine ingame stimme (und der anfang), nur als SIDEnote!)

Man danke dir für das Feedback und das du das getestet hast. Ich weiß es ist nicht optimal und ich bin immer noch unzufrieden deswegen. Ich hab in einem anderen comment schon etwas dazu geschrieben und werde versuchen es etwas immersiver hinzubekommen bzw. besser angepasst. Aber nochmal vielen Dank 🙏 😊

Unser squadron ist English sprachig aber wir haben ein paar deutsche, Österreicher dabei die auch nicht immer on Point sind wie auch bei mir. Man lernt das quasi auf dem Weg. Ich glaube, dass ich dich verstehe. Du hast bedenken, dass dein English für das squadron nicht gut genug ist? Mir ging es auch so. Vor etwas über einem Jahr hab ich angefangen in der englischsprachigen Community zu fliegen weil die Aviation Sprache English ist und es so am immersivsten ist. Mir haben die brevity sehr geholfen, weil man im Prinzip immer in Schablonen redet. Es bedeutet aber auch, dass du das lernen muss. Es ist natürlich nie perfect wie ein Muttersprachler und jeder lernt dazu. Wenn du Spaß daran hast und die gewisse Verbohrtheit hast du man für sowas braucht dann würde ich dich gerne zu uns einladen. Schau dir einfach mal die Webseite an. Dort findest du alle weiteren Infos. 😊

One question - you appeared to have some BVR threat information (‘Vulcans at 180, 2400m, 14km’ or similar) - was this info provide in text (just off the recorded screen) by the servers command & control? Or how were you getting this data?
Welcome to the channel mate. The threat call is what we give ourselves. The units are not called out but if we recognize and identify a hostile group, we call it out. So the lead is informed and can act upon it. Edit: this counts for ground units and mostly helos. Fighters are usually on EWR so there is a text call out.
Is this "mic" effects when you talks between the new 2.9 voice chat integration radios or is the SRS !?
It’s SRS what we use. The ED coms is great but there is still missions something.
Question, how do you know where that F5 was the whole time?
There is a EWR that calls it out in text. Something that I read off screen.
Are you using reshade or a filter over the video? I like it
I use the orange 3 filter. Not sure how exactly it is called but it is also color graded in post. I was not very happy with the initial tones. Great that you like it. Then it might have turned out good in the end :)
External views allowed on Cold war server?
On all pvp servers it is disabled - at least the ones we fly on. You will have to edit the recorded trackfile afterwards.
