1st year Electrical Engineer Tech here... This is by far, the most concise and clear lesson + demonstration I have learned from. I rarely felt the need to rewind, as your initial explanations truly breakdown and buildup the circuit. A peer sent this to me before our Electro-Mechanical lab, and am I ever glad I took the time to watch!! Cheers.
You have explained this far better than my teacher and his ladder logic diagrams. Thank you for breaking it down in the real world and explaining it in a simple way.
i have same problem in my class. there is about 16 students in there and teacher has no time to teach step by step.. i have been looking for something online that could atleast explain how the ladder diagram relates to motor, an the 200$ book i bought is a waste because we dont use it
i never really had a good grasp on motor control, in my apprenticeship i was paired up with someone who was excellent at it, and i kind of stood back and let him take control. Here i am 2 years later trying to actually learn it, You made things very easy to understand thank you
I'm an odd ball so I've been told. I originally learned HMI and ladder Logix with RA software I am no controls guy what so ever. Now that I am retired I'm learning the basics and your channel is making it easy to learn. Thanks for the instruction very easy to understand. Take care and be safe.
Thanks for clear explanations and the upload. Many colleges don't upload videos just run through slides quickly on a power point and send you off to the races. Appreciate the clarity of your videos
Thank you for both videos on the 8 pin relay. I used a relay to control an auxiliary coolant pump on a saw so it could be isolated when not required and turns off at the end of the saw cycle. Your explanation and videos were perfect to help understand not just how to wire but also the internal workings of the relay.
I work industrial maintenance at a fiberglass plant. We have a room with 100s on a board, they control 36 units. Trouble shooting is problematic for me sometimes and I need to understand how these work. Seems I always over thought it. I love these videos and am grateful that you put them together. thanks, Goat
Wow that is a lot to maintain. I am glad you enjoy my videos. I try to take the guess work out of it as I train new people. I try to give the basics and not try to make it complicated. Thanks for the support. CM
Thank you very much, Brother, you are a very good teacher keep the videos coming motor controls, calculations, electricians rule of thumb. Please add some troubleshooting videos. The relay videos 8pin 11pin are awesome. Thanks again keep it coming.
Hi Craig, found your videos whilst looking for something else. Your videos are really informative. I never really understood it when we touched upon it at college, but after watching your videos it all makes sense now. Big hello and a thank you all the way from England Great Britain. Keep the videos coming.
. i have been looking for something online that could at least explain how the ladder diagram relates to how everything goes together. but when we are asked to use the constructor program; nothing gets explained...thank your helping more than you know
Thank you for making this video! Your channel really helps me in understanding the motor controls class I'm taking in college to become an electrician.
Hello Craig, I am new to controls, and have watched several of your videos. I have a question; why not have constant power at 1, and then wire the start button to 2? That would eliminate the jumper between 2 and 3. Is there a reason why we're doing it different? I apologize in advance if this is common knowledge, I am still learning.
Your videos are very good. It would be helpful if you would label the actual parts the same way you have them diagrammed on the board. For instance, the 8 pin should have the 3412 5678 labeled so I do not need to go back in the video to see where they are. I wish you would do an old school motor control and start video.
...and that is what I've been thinking about too. He never bothered to put some specific labels on that 8-pin-motor-relay. Sir, could you please tell us some more? 🤔
Great video❤. What if you run a wire from the feed of the start push buttons( i mean the wire connecting start and stop push buttons) to port 3 (NO) of the relay, then separately run a wire from same port 3 to port 2 and link port 2 and port 1(common) of the relay, would that make a holding cct?
Excellent explanation Craig 👍. I have a question: what if I have a 240 Volt. load 5Amp RLA like pump or a fan. Can you do a video on how to switching a 240v load (power circuit) using pin 8&6. Thank you, greatly appreciate your time.
Could you explain a 3 phase 480 motor with the start stop, holding relay and transformer? I kind of have them down as far as wiring but would be great to have a breakdown video.
sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Jon Kaysen I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.

I have wired these a bunch.
I was trying to explain how it works.
This is very simple to show
Great video simple and to the point. Easy to understand
All this time I've been trying to figure it out.You have given me the best explanation ever. Thanks professor great stuff.

Sorry ment to say 100s of relays on a board.
Some are 12v some are 120v and a few are 6v. I'm getting there with your help.thanks

MAINTENANCE MAN tell ur plant manager to invest in Siemens or Rockwell plc. Or they will never get anyone coming out of school to work there
How do you add a timer in the circuit you just explained
@@wshh8486 we are now switching the new systens to plc. So thats the new thing im learning.
Thanks Senor , its helping me a lot . i am new on this electrical field and your channel is one of my number one videos i like to watch .

Really liked the video. It helps to clarify key details while wiring 8 pin relays
Nice and simple Craig, easy to follow...
Still learning. Been doing this going on 3years wish I had someone like this. To teach me not trial and error.
Honest struggle has incredible value . I’ve learned much on my own as well.
Thank you for your time and I like the way you teach.
Thanks for the tutorial man, watching from philippines
The best relay explanation. Thanks Sir

great explanation.. may have been clearer if u used different colour wires on the relay to and fro
You're really helpful
Hey good buddy do you have links for these specific products ?
Sir thank u very much for your help me how to do electrical work for my future carrier.
Do you have any videos showing how to connect an AGS to an electric start portable generator, turning it into an auto start generator?
Thank you!! Clear and informative!
thank you i really appreciate your efforts
I wish you were an instructor in my college, so I don't have stress over my relay circuit laps
Is this the same for icube relays number wise?
Hi there! What is the advantage of using a latching circuit over a toggle switch? Can u please answer this question? Thanks! 🙏🙏
Nice video thank you so much
i appreciate your videos. How can i use 8 pin relays to make two quiz boards in which the one that is activated first disables the other?

In the schematic diagram where you have L2, should it be a neutral wire going to the relay coil instead?
Great content thanks mate
Gracias again brother
Thank you my friend!! I only hope you learned something!!! Thank you for the support!! CM
Does this apply to 24 volt DC, 8 pin relays as well???
Thank you 🙏🏾
just reviewing your vid again. it would be really helpful if you labeled the ladder diagram with the corresponding pin terminals on the 8 pin relay.
I have a video on the pins and there arrangement. Please check it out. Thanks. CM
Thank your sir
Thanks bro
You are amazing
Can you show us how to wire NEMA contactor/starter with run light and power light
Craig great videos, but at the end of each video could you slowly go back through what you've just explained, cheers an thank you 👍
Thank you for the suggestion!! CM
What’s the relay called I need for this?
thanks a lot mate
Thank you sir
thanks a lot man

Can you make a video with forward reverse and stop with the relay
Awesome
Thank you
Thanks You
Thanks my t brother
awesome

Miss you❤️I hope you’ve been doing okay❤️
what is latching buddy
Is another term for HOLDING. It’s when you press the start button without having to physically hold it on. CM
IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW TA EVER SO
Felix naveda
Man how about a forward reverse motor starter?????
I will get there!! Working on a lot of videos for the future!! CM
@@craigmichaud-electricalins4602 thanks
You holding circuit its same circuit, so if you press your stop button there no power flowing through
Thank you
