Hey Craig, appreciate your motivation uploading all these electrical content UA-cam videos! Electricians need patience if they want to succeed in this trade. If anyone out there is just beginning this trade and feel intimidated don't worry because everyday you wake up and go to work you will learn something new. And sooner than later instead of asking electrical related questions you will be answering these types of questions! There is definitely money in this trade. If you want to stand out and become a successful electrician in the beginning listen more than talk. And if you have to talk ask questions. I truly believe any of us can be anything we want to be it all matters on where you put your time everyday you wake up..
I hate to admit I watch so many of your videos, but there’s a big difference between knowing how to wire and install and understanding what your doing. I initially learned by repeating what I saw, there comes a time when you have to understand what your doing and you help easily break down the components where I can understand even tho I’ve wired in these same systems hundreds of times. Thank you for the videos and making good explanation of their functions
Excuse me sir, I noticed you end up having a 3 hot wires connect to the n,o star switch. Is the wire that is tight to the hot side of the star button a holding contact, I didn't hear you say something about that wire.
Thank you sir let me tell you; this video and the way you kept it short and specific really drives the concepts home and I’m really thankful. Keep making more like this in PLC logic controls etc
Awesome video for newbies! @ 2:31 you're missing the Rung identification number and how many normally open or normally closed are in the relay itself, plus holding circuit identification where it's coming from. keep up the good work!
There’s 3 wires going in to the start button 1 is coming from the stop 2nd is going to the relay#2 terminal and 3rd to n/o 1# terminal on the relay, than jumps #3 - #2 to power it.
Craig before you added the neutral there is only two wires on the normally open button. When you’re done landing the neutral at the 8 pin relay, I see an additional wire on the button. What is that?
too bad you didn't explain what the other black wire was for going to the normally open contact where the power came in from the normally closed contact was.
It’s a power jumper going to the relay to make it hold. Otherwise , it would shutoff as soon as u let go of the start button. I agree. He should explain
I was wondering that samething. I saw that extra wire and had to go back and look if I missed something. I think he may have edited the video wrong. In another video he shows we're that blk wire goes and a jumper he installed
Hey Craig !! Thanks for the upload !! I'm looking to make a control box just like shown on the video. Do you think you can post a list of material needed as example purposes ? Am looking to make a home DIY installation such as this video Thanks again.
What’s the holding contact called again? And is it inside the relay? Wondering coz I didn’t see you wire anything other then start stop and relay. I took coarses at scit in Anaheim in 2015
I have watched a few of your videos. Special interest in latch holding. I have a two pole 240 contactor that uses 24 volt coil. The latch holding circuits I have seen use contactors with 120volt coils. How do I set it up with the 24 volt coil. I have momentary button switches.
you will need a 24 volt transformer to wire through to the buttons and back to the coil. just like I showed in the latching video.. If you have any questions email me sparkyinstructor@gmail.com CM
I’ve rewatched a few times did I miss how you tied in the sealing circuit am a new apprentice at a mine and am still struggling wiring up a bucket I’ll check your other vids
Is there another wire on the N/O i see 2 wires coming out of the N/O going to the relay but dont recall him mentioning where that second wire on the N/O is going to ???
Good video but it looks like you have 3 wires connected to the green button , but in your demonstration you only show 2 wires connected to it. The jumper from the stop button and the wire going to the relay. 2 wires . But at the end of the video the green button looks like it has 3 wires connected. Where does the third wire go ?
Can you list the buttons and relays that you used? Without seeing the whole thing, it’s hard to follow. I’d like a start stop button with a light that comes on when it’s on. But I don’t know how to do that. I don’t understand the reason for a relay either. Paul
You never showed where the white cable went from the relay as in one part it looks like it goes to the on switch but at the end of the video there’s only black cables on the green switch
I have watched the 8-pin video with a holding circuit. I have watched the start Stop wiring Basics video. I have created a circuit test board that will has multiple start/stop stations. Instead of having to run the stop wire from station to station so it is in a serial mode, is there a way to run all the stop wires to a master and be able to stop from any station? Skip....
@craigmichaud-electricalins4602 I get it but the video should have explained the latch. Look how many questions about this. It would only have taken 10 seconds to discuss the wires. It is a great video now I figured that out but it was frustrating before that.
I’ve lived in motor controls for the last several years, always good to go back to the basics from time to time. Nice video

I 100% agree with you!! CM
I've been doing electrical for 6 years and the videos that you keep posting are awesome, I'm learning from them alot. Thanks
I like you. You show step by step and show how to wire the circuit as well. Thanks 😊

What is the 3 wire on the start bottom
Awesome explanation Craig.
Thank you for taking your time and teaching. Very simple and accurate the way you explain and demonstrate in the video.
Thank you so much I'm going through school and these videos help out so much
Thank you for this video, I had a tough time in class with this. You make it much easier and slow it down for better understanding.
Thanks in Advance leave a comments so that i can shout you in my next video
Saved my day, thank you!
thank you very much for your lesson!
it helps me a lot !

Yup, noticed it too...this is a great video but small things like that can easily confuse someone.
I work in industrial electric and this videos will be helpful to work in motors I appreciate your contribution.
Keep uploading I greatly appreciate this! Just started working as an apprentice electrician and am about to start my online classes!
A valued video for learning motor controls

Awesome thanks for sharing your knowledge
God bless you for these videos, such great information and i really enjoy the way you teach , thank you for all you do brother!
Great video and really informative. I have a better understanding of the START and STOP buttons. I’m more confident to install my own circuits.
Thanks for the awesome videos you put out! I really enjoy your videos!
Do those lights have terminals for both NO and NC?
you didn't show the part when you added the third wire on the start button.
Hi , I like your video. Thanks
Where can i find how to wire the relay side of it cheers.

Craig before you added the neutral there is only two wires on the normally open button. When you’re done landing the neutral at the 8 pin relay, I see an additional wire on the button. What is that?
I see now it’s the hold.
Sir you are Awesome appreciate your time

Auxiliary contacts. But I didn't see him explain it here. Still the wiring for the start stop circuit was informative.
Did you explain the latch here ?
Nope that is in another video!! CM
@craigmichaud-electricalins4602 yes. I understand it now. I see the contact in parallel with start button. This was very educational. Thanks

Haha found your holding circuit vid great help thanks
Love your videos
Is there another wire on the N/O i see 2 wires coming out of the N/O going to the relay but dont recall him mentioning where that second wire on the N/O is going to ???
Million thanks.
Where does the pin 1 wire which is the common go to ?Thank you
I like your videos man.
Thank you I appreciate your support!! CM
Good videos, thanks
thank you for the content
So, could this be similar to wiring a start stop switch for motor
does those lights have a NO and NC ? how do you wire the stop light NO
Good video but it looks like you have 3 wires connected to the green button , but in your demonstration you only show 2 wires connected to it. The jumper from the stop button and the wire going to the relay. 2 wires . But at the end of the video the green button looks like it has 3 wires connected. Where does the third wire go ?
How would you wire an emergency stop in-between the start/stop ?
Why do u have another wire coming off the jumper and u didn't explain wut the wire going to
Can you list the buttons and relays that you used?
Without seeing the whole thing, it’s hard to follow.
I’d like a start stop button with a light that comes on when it’s on. But I don’t know how to do that. I don’t understand the reason for a relay either.
Paul
Thank you
you put a cable from the NO jumper to the relay and another jumper on the relay and you did not mention that
Why did you leave out hooking up the latching Circuit
because there is another video on Laching/holding circuit!! CM
You never showed where the white cable went from the relay as in one part it looks like it goes to the on switch but at the end of the video there’s only black cables on the green switch
you did not explained the auxiliary wire,
My dude thanks

Skip....
You skipped the entire part where you wire the locking of the relay which is why people watch the video
Thanks for the comment!! Please watch the other video where I explain it!! Thanks!!! CM
@craigmichaud-electricalins4602 I get it but the video should have explained the latch. Look how many questions about this. It would only have taken 10 seconds to discuss the wires. It is a great video now I figured that out but it was frustrating before that.
Number your videos besides that good job
where is third wire on start going?
I once holded or held my code book ;)
