Homemade Smoky Baked Beans on Toast Recipe Classic British Fine Dining
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- A Classic British dish, Beans on Toast. Fortnum & Mason on London's Piccadilly started selling Heinz baked beans in 1886. And we've been slapping them on toast and lapping them up ever since. And for many Brits ever since they coined the slogan in 1967 "Beanz Meanz Heinz".
This is how we would make them from scratch if we didn't just buy them from supermarkets in cans and zhuzh them up with our favourite condiments, cheese or chilli sauce .
Cheesy beans are one of Britain's culinary masterpieces and far more challenging for students to perfect than France's Soufflé or Japans pot noodle. To quote Sir Winston Churchill "Baked beans are an essential food, cheesy beans are a PASSION!"

He’s back!!!! Just thought to myself the other day that I hoped Robert would return. Love his tours of London
Thanks!
Keep them coming. We all need your vlogs right now. Especially shopping/cooking/ sights of #1 favorite city in the world. Appreciate you👍
He finally did get round to making those beans on toast then!
It only took 8 months
Funny enough I brought that Marcus Wareing book after watching the first video and I still haven't tried that recipe, so I can't judge!
You should change your banner picture not that your slim and trim.🤔

Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 again one of my all time favourites...we call them BBQ Baked beans I wont have any other type of beans yummy 😋
I went to the same bread ahead shop on Beak Street a couple of months ago and they never sold bread, only doughnuts etc. I’m pleased they now sell loafs!

James Smith You're, not your. (-:
Lorie Dyer thank you for the correction but I’m sure Barry got the message 😀

Absolutely love ❤ Sourdough bread also smokey cheese too...have English, Scottish, and Swedish DNA 👌 😅😅
Glad you're back. Enjoyed your London videos for awhile. Was hoping to get to London and see some places you've featured, but that 14 day quarantine rule pretty much put an end to our travel plans (for now).
God, you have been missed! Loved this, am craving beans on toast and a visit to F&M like nobody's business! hope you are well, stay safe, and please, upload a bit more if you can. Love your foodie/London vlogs more than I can put into words. x

So good
Excellent, I have missed your videos.
Glad you like them!
The way I use to use the black treacle/molasses was to boil a saucepan of water. Leave to cool then put the tin of treacle to warm.
Sounds like a good idea
Well come back Robert! Finally again a bit London reality. :)
so glad to see you buddy!! you took a simple, comfort food and turned it into a elegant superior meal! that had my mouth watering. treacle? molasses perhaps?
Thanks so much! Yeah treacle & molasses are the same thing but there are many different brands/types
Definitely going to check out Bread Ahead. Also, love the Dualit toaster, they're supposed to be fantastic kit.
Glad you're back!
Hey, thanks!
For those of us without access to Fortnum’s I can recommend Normandy butter with sea salt crystals, available in major supermarkets. Although when you crunch on a sea salt crystal just remember it’s not glass! 😹
Brilliant video..........I love seeing London,I’m not totally sold on sourdough bread🤔
It's so good!
Nice to see you back mate, its looks nice to me but far to much hassle, i think I will just stick with Branston beans with chorizo on Warburtons bread
Sounds good
I'm a veggie and that looked amazing, will do that (without the bacon).
Welcome back Barry. Been looking forward to part 2 for 8 months, and I have to say, it was well worth the wait. BTW, did you use Normandy, or Brittany butter? Looking forward to seeing more new videos appearing (hopefully).
Thanks! It was so long ago cant remember where in France the butter was from
Good to see you back rob , did you grown them beans out your back garden it’s been that long since you promised us this vid :)
Thanks! Time fllys when your having fun
Hooray you are back ,survived the Covid ?
So far
Spoiler alert. They won't be as good as those from a can.
You'll have to make them to fid out
Miles better. Tinned baked beans are bland and boring.
Wrong. Fake spoiler alert.
You food snobs will all be eating out of cans come the depression
The brand pls (butter) ?
Life is too short for all that!
What was the black sticky stuff?
Alright Treacle
What is treacle and what does it taste like??
Liquid toffee
@@RobertsLondon Cool! Thanks!
Can I send ya a can of beans and lemme know what ya think?
What no brown sauce
A five star video, but French butter, talk about taking coal to Newcastle.
They'd sold out of Anchor spreadable
Beans saturated in tomato sauce is an abomination. End of story.
Wow very expensive beans on toast maybe very delicious but not for people on a budget 👎
