    Tank is looking good! Just some advice you have your water level in the sump set really high. It's supposed to be slightly below the middle return section so that it flows over just like a large sump. Have this same tank and has been running flawlessly for 2 plus years. Now if you already knew that and you're purposely running it high, then ignore my comment. lol

      @@RespectTheReef I have a 20 gallon Nuevo Drop Off Peninsula Concept and was struggling to see what some others were running in their rear chambers. So I really appreciate it. Next tank is going to be a 25 or 40 gallon lagoon.

    Do you ever run carbon at all? I have a skimmer, a Uv sterilizer, I also use filter floss, is carbon even needed for me

    A detritus trap? Lol that is exactly what filtration does, traps and filters nasties. Thinking about buying one and wasnt to sold on the AIO idea yet.

    • @RespectTheReef
      @RespectTheReef  4 місяці тому +1

      To each its own. Just showing you my set up. Sumps are better if you have the room to run one.
      If you’re referring to my sock comment. They get gunked up fast and the detritus doesn’t get broken down. Food sets in them. If you use media the bacteria can break a lot of it down. In my experience

    • @hype2murderugaming
      @hype2murderugaming 4 місяці тому

      I meant no harm with my comment. Its an awesome setup you got. I hear these AIOs essentially get stagnant in the filtration areas and I personally wouldnt run a sock bc of this. I think you made the right choice!@@RespectTheReef

    • @RespectTheReef
      @RespectTheReef  4 місяці тому +1

      @@hype2murderugaming oh no worries! I didn’t think you were being rude or anything. I agree with you. If I had the room and money to set up a nice sump I would. At this point I’m too invested in the all in one setup but a sump is the way to go. I do think AIO are good as well but more water (sump) is always better.

    How high do you keep your water level in the back?

    • @RespectTheReef

      Enough for it to overflow down. Few inches lower then display

    How expensive does it get switching the gfo and carbon every week?

    • @RespectTheReef
      @RespectTheReef  9 місяців тому +1

      I’d say I do it once a month now. Just watch your nitrates and phosphates. If they start to climb again but your doing everything the same then it’s time to change. Even that gets expensive but it can be an expensive hobby. It doesn’t have to be by any means but I try to optimize everything
