    00:00 Introduction
    1:49 Method #1 Layering during the heat pressing process
    5:12 Method #2 Layering on a single piece of transfer paper with registration marks
    While vinyl gives you a great deal of freedom when it comes to substrates, it can be a bit limiting when it comes to more complex, multi-colored, and three-dimensional- looking designs. By layering your vinyl sheets with the two methods provided in this video, you can decorate your HTV garments with full creative freedom.
    For the first method, you can create two separate transfer sheets and layer your design during the actual heat pressing process. We’ll show you how to set up the design on the vinyl cutting software, make sure that it is accurate, cut, weed, and press it for a pristine finish.
    During the second method, we’ll demonstrate how you can layer the vinyl onto a single piece of transfer paper using what’s known as registration marks-which allows you to know exactly how to stack your design during the initial transfer phase. Again, you’ll see step by step how to add the registration marks with the software before we cut, weed, and press the design on your garment for a multi-colored masterpiece.

      I'm gonna go with the 1st method. Thank you for that wonderful videos. it really helps a lot. It's because up to this day I'm still struggling to make two layer htv vinyl.

    I’d go with the first method. The stickiness of the 2nd example would surely make wrinkles and bubbles for me!

    Is the final decal on the transfer tape? Or was it re-applied to the original backing? ty

      Thank you! I tried the second method and had an awful time moving the htv back to the original sheet. I spent an hour and ultimately ruined the project.@@ricomatv

    Am I missing something (I am new to this craft) but by putting both on to transfer tape aren't you essentially flipping the HTV so that the adhesive layer is then the wrong way up??

      Hi Kay! That is one way of doing it and the video showed an alternate version!

      @@ricomatv but still, I don’t see how the second option would work as the adhesive side on one layer will be facing the wrong way so won’t stick when pressing?

      @@kaymitchell6445 there are 3 sheets, 1st layer, transfer sheet, and 2nd layer. Move the vinyl from 1st layer to the transfer sheet then move the vinyl on the transfer sheet to the 2nd layer. When he moves the vinyl from the transfer sheet to the 2nd layer, the image flips back to the correct way (mirrored). You’re thinking that he moved both layers to the transfer sheet.

    How long do you press the second transfer in the first method? Since you are pressing the first design twice while transfering the second/blue design..?

    • @wigm
      @wigm Рік тому +3

      They way i've done it is press the first design for a few seconds, just long enough to stick, depending on the brand of vinyl it can be just 5 seconds. Then with the the second design press the whole thing for the full time needed.
