How refreshing it is to find a channel that doesn't assault one's senses right off the bat with loud intros and annoying "HEY UA-cam IT'S YA BOY..." Really appreciate your style and tone of the videos I've watched so far. Really informative and clear. Sub'd
I was doing the cooking Baking soda thing for about a year. Decided to up my game and went to Kalkwasser. Upping my game again and moved to All For Reef. Thank you for the video. Installing a doser this weekend so I don't have to do it manually anymore.
Thank you for the informative video about the All for Reef product. I just purchased a small bottle of the liquid to get started dosing my reef tank. I plan on buying the powder form since it will be much more economical to buy the powder and mix it at home. I have a small reef tank 35 gallon cube tank that I just put some coral frags in. To get started I will be dosing manually. I plan on getting a dosing pump to deliver the solution automatically as soon as i can. Everything I read or watched on youtube about this product has been nothing but great reviews. This is exactly what I have been looking for in a dosing media, simple one product additive. I can't wait to start using this and watching my corals grow.
Here's a suggestion. I've been using both for the past year or so. I use the kalk to increase my PH primarily. This has the benefit of stimulating growth. The only downside of this is I burn through AFR quicker because of the increase in growth. And thanks.👍🏾
Your explanation is so simple and to the point that now I have a better understanding of all for reef and will be implementing a dozing schedule with my new X1 dozer.
Thanks for the kind words. It is a great product in my opinion. One negative that I didn't mention in the video is that fact that it can sometimes have supply issues. Getting it at the LFS can be somewhat hit or miss, and Bulk Reef Supply is out of stock sometimes. Thanks again for viewing.
Slow and steady. Amazing info my friend. No one was able to explain it this clearly. Thank you so much. Just a question- when you saw small tanks and larger tank l, how many gallons do you consider as small tank and how many gallon is for a bigger tank. I do have a 52 gallon tank. Thank you in advance. Regards
Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate it. When I say small tank, my thought was something maybe 40 gallons or less. Larger tanks, I consider to be above 75 gallons. It's just my opinion, but it makes sense to me. Again, thanks.
Good video I'm going to try this stuff one thing I was going to say we don't want to make changes too quick anyway to our tanks better to do a little slowly
Powder 100%!! It's so much more cheaper than the liquid version. One jar of the powder cost me between $40-$50, and I can make a gallon and a half with that. A liter of the liquid would cost about the same price as the jar of powder for so much less AFR.
Thank you for your videos, most informative. As a trekkie myself, please tell me you say 'Greetings' at the beginning of your videos as a tribute to Data!
Oh man! I wish that I was that clever. It's always a treat when I come across folks that have Trek in the DNA. Maybe one day I'll shoot a video from my home office, which is essentially a Star Trek themed room. Thanks so much for watching.👍🏾👍🏾🖖🏾
Great to hear. My only issue with it is that I have to stay on my LFS to keep it in stock. And BRS is out of stock a lot also. Thanks so much for watching.👍🏾
U must re-carbonate, resistance is futile 🙂 I did an experiment in one of my vids adding Mag solution to Sodium Carbonate, and also to a mixture of Sodium Bicarbonate. In both experiments the sodium precipitated out a bit and dropped the ph. I brought up the subject on R2R asking how all 4 reef's formula works around this. Most came back saying they were not able to use it to raise the ph, Have you noticed this as well?
First thing, I always appreciate a kindred spirit who knows about the Borg. My experience with all for reef is that it doesn't elevate the PH. Lou Ekus, the spokesperson for Tropic Marin has confirmed this. I wish it did, but I can live with that. Thanks for watching. It really means a lot to me.
Good info. Do all tanks already have the necessary bacteria to break down the formate, or do they have to form? Also, does it stay in solution for dosing or percipetate out with time? Thanks Ed.
I've been wondering that same thing myself. I am in the middle of a lazy search for an answer. I've been wondering if increasing the population would shorten the time it takes to process the alkalinity conversion. Also I haven't noticed it precipitating out in the bottom of the jug I keep it in.
Great video! Im currently setting up my first reef tank this product sounds ideal to auto dose & makes dosing seem less intimidating.funny you mention baking soda!i use this method for my asian discus tanks to raise KH without adding the GH most store "discus remineralise" products seem to contain
I dose mine every day. Because of the delay with AFR needing to be processed by bacteria, I think daily is best. That way you should be able to keep your levels stable. Thanks so much for watching! I really appreciate it.👍🏾

Wow!! Thanks so much! I really appreciate that.
One of the best reef keeping videos I’ve seen. Thank you for the thorough explanation.

I'm doing both in a doser myself. Only problem is the head that doses kalk has gone bad.
Thanks for watching.👍🏾
Most thorough video on AFR on UA-cam! Seriously.
Thanks so much!

Great. Thanks for the complement. How big is your tank?
Appreciate the video! I've been looking into AFR to replace my Kalk dosing.

Great information and well-explained. Thanks for this. I've been looking into getting away from 2-part, too.
I'm really glad that it helped.
Wow. That was really informative. I'm not crazy about the delay in effect, but it seems like a good product.
It really is!
Great video. The Borg yesterday, today, tomorrow, forever. Love the shirt.

Best video about all for reef I have seen
Wow!
I really appreciate that!
I love the stuff.
Great video, you explained how the All For Reef works in the aquarium better than Lou Ekus did on BRST
Wow!! That's high praise.
I really appreciate the kind words.👍🏾

£26 for 800g compared to £64 for modern reef 2.5l which I dose at the moment think I need to change, subbed anyway.
Your stirring devices gave me a giggle
Glad you liked it.👍🏾
Great video! Just bought a bottle of All-for-reef.
Regards from Brazil!
Thanks so much!!

I agree with you that slow and steady changes are the safest way to go.
Just rewatched. Better the second time. Great info.
Great video.. what would you recommend for a total of 90 gallon water volume. 73 gallons in display tank. Liquid or powder?
Powder 100%!! It's so much more cheaper than the liquid version. One jar of the powder cost me between $40-$50, and I can make a gallon and a half with that. A liter of the liquid would cost about the same price as the jar of powder for so much less AFR.

Great video Ed! Thanks
Thanks a lot!
I really appreciate it.

@@GwonkReefkeeping I have learned so much from other reefers, it's always nice to hear everyone's experiences 🙂
@@spicyreef I believe alkalinity & trace elements are most important, if those levels are all perfect then PH really doesn't matter

easy answer, yes you should
I agree 100%
Thanks for the informative information!

Great Product ! I love it
It can be hard to get hold of sometimes, though.

Interesting. I never considered that baking soda had uses for fresh water. I learned something today. Thanks.
Hi do I dose this every day or once a week will be fine?
I dose mine every day.
Because of the delay with AFR needing to be processed by bacteria, I think daily is best. That way you should be able to keep your levels stable.

Very nice video on A4R
Thanks.😀
but one of the biggest things is we shouldn't make fast adjustments.
Good point.👍🏾

Works for me 😂
I think that you will love it.

@@GwonkReefkeeping Hi love it already been using it for 2 years now but love the way you explain things, good job. Happy days
