- On 6/18/24 I visited the Essex Steam Train & Steamboat Park in Essex, CT. As I walked around I took videos of everything on display. The Valley Railroad, operating under the name Essex Steam Train and Riverboat, is a heritage railroad based in Connecticut on tracks of the Connecticut Valley Railroad, which was founded in 1868.
HI Richard. This was a nice way to spend a part of your day. A couple of names related to English counties, Essex and Wallingford in Oxfordshire on the Pullman car. Where I live the railways are connected to, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Paddington Station, The Wharncliffe Viaduct, and The Three Bridges (Hanwell) which is a road over a railway track that's over a canal (The Grand Union). Also, when I see steam trains I am reminded of the wonderful photographs taken of them by O Winston Link.
Thank you very much for the nice comments and information. Thanks as well for subscribing. Mr. Link was a fantastic photographer.
Awesome video
Thank you very much. Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video, Rick. We never made it there, so it was good to see the equipment that they have. Their collection of center cab locos is pretty impressive.
Thank you Bruce. I just wish they had the two steamers out.
The Valley Railroad is the name of the company that operates the trains. It and "Essex Steam Train" are the same entity. Also most passenger cars never had names, only special ones did.
Thank you very much for providing that information. And thanks for watching too.
Great video Rick. They seem to have a lot of equipment and I hope that means they stay busy. Too bad you weren't allowed into any equipment.
Thank you Curt. I can understand not being allowed on the equipment. It's all about insurance and liability.
Magnificent catches of the train coming by and pass, I like it 5 stars.
Thumbs up.
Keep up the perfect work, Rick, Greetings from Portugal to the USA.
Thank you very much. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed it.
