remember when both Zero came out and there's people saying this Zero is better because it's not tuned by Crin, only for Crin to come out of the tuning closet and said that it's also tuned by him? lol
Hey Crin!! We do iem monitoring for clubs, concert, and other venues. We have about 150+ units in our budget road case that we use for opening acts, club acts, etc. I thought you'd like to know, among them are 30 sets of og Zeros, five in each color( female artists really like to match iem color to their ensemble, blue if they are wearing blue earrings for instance;) therefore we stock every color. We will do the same with the Zero 2. But what I really wanted to let you know is the og Zero can be eqed to fit almost anything. Some iems bottom out or lose control when you bass them up a bit. I've had drummers and bassists using the OG and were completely satisfied. The OG Zero eqs very easy, A boost or cut here or there is all you need. Of course we don't use a 10 band app on a phone , we use pro 31 band analog or digital eqs. That means I can pull that 10 k down a few notches without affecting any other band. With these eqs, center position on any band is basically off, it doesn't engage that band unless it's moved from center position. I thought you'd like to know that it is in fact one of our customers favorite iems, and the fact you can make eq changes without bloating or other problems is probably not known by much of the hobby. We are on the opposite side of the spectrum, in the studio filming we are on the recording end and the hobbiest are on the completely opposite end, with the finished recording, the same thing applies live. We couldn't do either without eq. So an iem that you can eq without problems is exactly what we want. I'm looking forward to hearing the Zero 2, it'll be in good company!! Congratulations on the collab!! All the best, Sonny T MoonDancer Studios Chameleon Speaker Systems
@@altair_sound no, if something works for us it works. We have many other choices to choose from. There are many mid and high level iems that do not take kindly to eq, especially in the bass region. This new versions graph looks close to what the OG looks when eqed, but every musician is different, it might sound perfect to me but he wants more bass; at that point we’d switch iems. That’s why we carry a lot of choices. Most high end artists have customs, so we seldom need those unless someone breaks one etc. Also, the OG ( this version too probably) are not the best fit for female artists, so there’s that too. But its ability to be eqed without instant distortion is a big plus for us. But we’re still talking of the budget end, it’s a deal in that category.
@@nachot6592 thanks for confirming that bro!! So many iems don’t eq well! So it’s useful if it does. Another Crin collab, the Truthear Zero, is much fussier with eq. Touch that bass and it bloats every time. It’s great for certain musicians, drummers, bassists, etc. , in its stock tuning. But you definitely do not want to give it to a vocalist. The Olina is great for female vocalists, but you don’t want to give it to a drummer! People in the hobby don’t realize that when they see their favorite band in concert Every artist has an Iem with an eq in the chain somewhere. It may not need to be used but it’s there in case. I’m excited for this new Zero2 because I’m thinking it Will eq well like the OG, and we might get a few surprises. All the best, Sonny T
I have been seriously in to headphones since 2004, I got my pair of Zero:2's today and they are the best sound IEMs I have ever used, I just can't believe I could get such high quality audio from 25$ headphones. I have owned Shure, Sennheiser, Sony, Etymotic research headphones and none of those have even come close to the clearity and quality of this pair. I love them, thank you.
Love the sound isolation on the etymotic, but damn the tuning is weird. I need some crazy EQ for them. Way too much 7khz, good detail when Eq'd but still, the Hexa is better and cheaper.
As someone who has listened to the Zero 2, pretty much spot on. The improvement in driver is hard to spot, but it seems to be better at handling higher volume. It's indeed an upgrade over the OG Zero for most people.
as solo musicians. cheaper neutrally tuned iems really help us mix our music more confidently (atleast a big win for 3rd world countries). really great to see that more competitors are coming.
@@ebioooPros zero 2: better Eartips (Hola Eartips create more earwax), you can hear more sounds (Hola Treble is dark, You're not wrong if you prefer this! Everyone may prefers different kinds of Tuning). Sound that most Audiophiles would prefer, will most likely get USB C cable with mic or just one with mic option, may become best Gaming IEM under $30. Pros Hola: Better cable, most likely still better in ear comfort, Better build Quality, normal Black and wite look. Would stil be a better IEM set for on the Go and care about sound second.
So, I have tested the "Moondrop Chu 2", the "Tangzu Wan er SG" and the "7Hz x Crinacle Zero:2" (unfortunatly not the Hola). And here are my preferences as an freelance event audio technician: Accessories: Out of the box these 3 have simular accessories, but the Chu2 has a little leather etui for storage. But i recommand for all of them a better case. Cable: The cabel of the Tangzu is thick and is in 2 seperate cable insulations. The auricle-part is stiff and not realy adjustible. The 7Hz is also in 2 cable bundles and thin. It is the one that has not a 90 degree angled jack. It has a plastic part to close up the cable up to the chin. The ear part is firm and flexible. The Chu 2 has both wires in a single insulation, that is good to wind it up. The ear piece is medium stiff and simular as the Tangzu, but it seems more flexible Out of the 3 it feels the best. I think the cables are all out of PVC insulation. The connection type of the cables are different, so watch out if your looking for an alternitve. Feel, comfort and sound insulation: The feel and shape of the Tangzu and 7Hz are very simular with the plastic body and shape of the earbud. But the 7Hz reaches out a bit more and the angle of the ear canal piece is like 45° (Tangzu is mor like 74°). The Tangzu fits me better. The Chu 2 is very small and has a metal body (so they can be a bit cold for the first minute). They are seemless and are with 6grams the heaviest, but it feels more premium. I was suprised of the sound insulation. The Moondrop has the most dampening and with the Zero:2 you can hear most of your envirement. THe Wan er are simular as the Zero:2, a bit more insulated. Sound: Here comes the main part of the analysis. Chu 2: is a warm headphone wirh enough punch in the lows. It shines in the low and midlows, but are also good in the other regions, but not as bright and clear as the others. Overall good/ sounding IEMs with a feel for the bassline. Wan Er SG: great response over all frequencies, good medium lows and lows, but not with alot punch. Great clearity and bright sound. For me the sound the most linear and my favourite. Zero:2: has the highest clearity and good response in the highs an mids. But idk the lows and midlows are really weak. So maybe there good for classical music, but for me there is to less bass. And i like clear headphones. Ranking: So after all this is a short summary. I tried to explain it not to tachnical. This is my opinion: The Wan Er has the best linear sounding with just enough bass and could be my daily driver. It has ot the best buildquality and sound insulation. The Chu 2 is more warmer and a good pair of IEMs. Overall it has the best quality, feels great and has a great sound insulation. For the style and comfort i would chose these ones. The Zero:2 are for people who like realy bright and crystal clear sound profiles. But they feel a bit cheaper and dont have enough insulation for outdoor hearing. They dont have much lows so they dont feel warm at all. Conclusion: These are all good headphones for this pricepoint, but i would not recommand the 7Hz that costs a few bucks more than the others. The Chu2 has the best comfort and style with a warm sound profile. And also a good soundinsulation. The Wan Er are linear and my recommandation.
I thought i was the only one facing low or no bass. The graph do not tell the whole story. I was hoping somewhat near to the reds. But unfortunately this is just not the case.
@@xeoknight845 Might be the result of pictures zooming in on a tiny, dark object. At least to me when holding it, (black) unrubberrized glossy plastic on original Zero looks and feels good; not deep-black and hard enough to pass as "epoxy", but solid and smooth. Almost opaque, slightly translucent black of Truthear Zero can result in deeper black and more premium feel, though.
@@Lishtenbirdi think it's moreso that the transparent plastic makes it look more mechanical/punk, since you can see the mechanisms on the inside which look pretty cool on their own
Hey Crin! Just wanted to say thanks for making good products. I recently bought the original Salnotes Zero and am really happy with it. From the charts, the original still seems like it's more my taste. I know a lot of your audience is tired of the collabs but personally I like you putting what you'd like all different price points out in the world, especially since you make it very clear that they're by no way objectively the best thing ever. I feel like I really resonate with your personal preferences of a little bit more air in the 10k+ region and that sub-bass boost with a mostly linear midrange and smooth pinna gain, so I really appreciate you making the Zero.
My main issue with the original Zero (other than channel imbalance) was with the shape of the shell: the angular protrusion made it painful to use for several hours straight. But I have heard that it's not a universal complaint, and the shape is fine for others, so just something to keep in mind. Otherwise, I actually liked the additional clarity for speech, though I can see how that can be tiring for music.
@@athenovaeI don’t know if OP has the same issue, but I find the nozzle so short that any tips I try don’t get enough ear canal to hold onto and they keep trying to come out of my ears. The Salnotes Zero is basically the IEM that convinced me that reviewers calling something “easy fitting” actually means “zero fit stability”.
Awesome. The Zero was quite popular, but i did wish that it had slightly more bass, or reduced the treble peak. Luckily it seems this version fixed those issues. I already ordered a Zero 2, so just waiting for arrival now.
...I use the impedance adapter from the Truthear Zero Red with my 7Hz Zeroes 😊 Yeah I know, not an option for most people out there, but it works really well. Though getting any other 10 ohm impedance adapter should technically work as well.
@dannygraves4997 so i just measured my Zero with the Red impedance adapter. Interestingly, there's almost no change in the FR from 20hz-4khz, other than an overall SPL drop, but then after 4k it does seem like it may slightly lower the treble slightly like a small high shelf filter. I guess the Zero driver is pretty linear, up to 4k
@@sidesaladaudio Interesting, because audibly, it certainly makes the bass a bit more present and seems to push down the treble quite a bit on my end... I take it you've measured your impedance adapter with the reds and seen an actual change? Then again, now that I think about it, isn't that the whole idea of the adapter, to soften the high end so there's a perception of increased bass?
@dannygraves4997 the adapter plays into the impedance curves of the drivers. The Red has two drivers, with the bass driver having a higher impedance than the driver that handles the mids and treble. So when you increase the impedance of the output with the adapter, the lower impedance driver loses more spl than the Bass driver, which is higher impedance. This gives the perception of a bass boost, really its making the mids and treble quieter overall. You can still have some sort of boost or change in FR with a single driver and impedance adapters, depending on its impedance curve. If a driver has an impedance peak, then that area will appear to boost when an adapter or higher output impedance source is used. Some IEMs do seem to get a bass boost from this, others seem to get a mids boost depending on their curve. Just from the quick FR measurement I did with my 7hz Zero, I'd guess it's pretty linear, up until it gets to the treble, and then the driver impedance might drop a bit. So when the adapter is added, the treble is probably tamed a bit. I guess it'd be perceived as slightly tilting the response down for more bass
I daily drive the Salnotes Zeros while on the go (with a Sony Walkman), and I daily drive the Truthear Zero Red on my PC, because the extra (bass) depth from the dual drivers just makes it so much better for gaming. If the Salnotes Zero 2 can match the extra Thump of the Truthears, I'll get those as backups/replacements.
@@DannyGraves1775 same for me too, I also think the ZERO 2 will be a good backup if something bad happen to my Salnote ZERO (I hope not 😭) or an upgrade to Truthear HEXA.
@@DannyGraves1775hello, I would like to know what would your recommendations be between Truthear Zero Red and this 7Hz Zero. I plan on buying one but can't decide which. I am a drummer on Sundays but I also plan to use the IEMs for daily music. Thanks in advance!
Low distortion + strong but not overpowering bass + no upper midrange harshness = ideal tuning for those with treble sensitivities. It is staggering how nice these IEMs sound for the very modest price. Tested with a Grace M9xx and Astell Kern Norma SR15, these budget IEMs punch way above their price point. If anyone else hasn't mentioned it, thank you for an IEM tune that I can run with no EQ since I generally need to bump up the bass a bit and drop the 4-7K range a bit to avoid listening fatigue.
Mine just arrived today, I ordered them as my introduction to IEMs. Coming from 1000.00 headphones and a stand alone DAC and amp, my mind is blown. I just have them plugged into my old Samsung Note 9 and WOW, just WOW.
I actually like the response of the original Zero for some of my music, and bought a Wan'er for bassier stuff. But I'm finding that it leans a bit *too* hard in that direction now. So I'll be interested in giving these a shot in the coming weeks!! Been loving all your collabs that I've tried, fantastic work from everyone involved!!
I'll be honest I feel like Moondrop owns the king of $20 IEM with the Chu 2. Basically the same tuning as the Zero 2 now, has a metal shell, replaceable filter, a case, better cable, more standard 2 pin design. Honestly if they came with the Spring Tips still they'd be a must buy for anyone. Luckily I own the enough spring tips already that I have some to put on them but still without them for $20 it's easily better value. I mainly feel this way because I can't stand plastic IEMs or 7hz 2 pin design. The rest I could basically replace, the no case, the cable, the tips all easy fixes.
@@SAINIDECondensation isn't a QC issue it's a material issue. Any metal IEM will suffer the same issue in a humid climate. Every one i've owned has. None have been any worse for it though, just dry them off and ready to go. Been using Moondrop for the last 5 years. Starfields still going strong, my KXXS only just had issues the other day and I got those on release. Chu 2 still work perfectly and my Moondrop Beautiful Worlds that I daily now, are only showing visual marks on the platinum metal shell which I could fit if I polish and buff them. I've not had an issue with Moondrop so I can't comment on that side of things. That's basically how QC/QA works. It's limited the best they can so majority don't experience it. Those that do tend to be vocal so it seems like it's a bigger issue then it truly is.
I bought the Chu's a long time ago and later on Moondrop released the Chu 2. Then I bought the Salnotes Zero. At this point, I should just wait for refined versions of the base IEMs.
Buying every upgrade is not the way lol, might as well get something like a truthear nova or a simgot em6l and be content with it for 5 years instead of buying multiple cheap ones that in the end would add up to be even more expensive than the ones I've mentioned.
I ordered tonight from the Amazon Link and am looking forward to getting them to checking out. Currently listening tonight with my Moondrop Chu 2 I ordered based on your recommendation and they ARE exceptional for the price!!! They did need foam tips for the high rating! Can't wait to compare your newest collaboration. You are a wonderful resource and I am a fan. I've wasted money on many more expensive IEM's that don't sound as good as your recommendations! Thanks you Crinacle!!!! Keep up your Great content.
@@12thjuly63 I like the Zero2 for high end but some may think it is too much! That is an absolute personal preference. The Chu2 is great and I think is better overall as the low end is better and is a bit more balanced with very good highs, but not as pronounced as the Zero2. You will not go wrong with either at the price point. Chu2 also has has better cables and a pouch. If you can't buy both I recommend the Chu2 and you will not regret the bang for the buck! God Bless!
@@dehnpeterson5650 I accidentally bent the 2 pin connector of my chu2s and one the pins got stuck inside the shell termination, bummer. I will need to get another one since the warranty doesnt cover this, I am torn b/w waner s.g. edition and zero2
the original Zero is so great, not least that when I forget my Dongle dac I can still hear music as I got the USB-C version (which works well with other low demand iEMS). Good to know you have tweaked the bass - important not just for bass-heads but to help drown out daily background commuting where this product gets a lot of use
I needed a new cable for my Zeros and I think this is my replacement cable. Oh wow, literally every single gripe I had with the first version (despite being my favourite budgets and personal daily drivers) has been corrected or at least had attention. Looking forward to listening, ordering some now if they're in stock. Edit (21 Apr) - they're good. New daily drivers. Equally as uncomfortable on the back of my ears but good nonetheless.
I had never used an IEM before, and I was recommended this by a couple people after my old apple earbuds I was using with my PC started having issues. I obviously am comparing it to horrible alternatives in terms of audio quality, but man these sound great. I'm hearing things I've never heard before in songs I've listened to hundreds of times, and games sound amazing too. I'm sure I'll end up upgrading in the future, but I'm sure this is the best IEM to start with
Just going to leave a comment here; I bought these, got them a week later, and only used them for a day, but they sound better than any headset I've ever owned. All be it they haven't been that expensive, and the gaming model. These are a little too big on the outside for my ears, so I have to use these at an angle. But these are comfortable. For gaming: I haven't ever used earbuds or other IEM type headphone for it, but these do the job, in Tarkov for f.e: Pulling a grenade pin and throwing it, quiets the other sounds for a split second, but other then that, these sound amazing. Other shooters and games, the sound is full, and you can 100% tell where the footsteps are coming from. For music: Hoooly cow.. I mean I've never heard a more clear sound in a headphone. Even the tiniest things producers put in their songs, can be heard if you listen. The lowest of basses can be heard and even ''felt''. AMAZING For a score I give these a 89/100 only because I have to keep pushing these to an angle for them not to hurt my goblin ears.
I was expecting you only boosted the bass 1db because now it sounds like any other $20 IEMs in the markets. I personally like the treble and everything except the bass could be a little bit better maybe use foamtips to help. But i didn't expect zero two going to have an upgraded driver so im waiting to see if its going to the same original zero sound signature or different entirely. Is it tru to pleased people who enjoy the original zero market or targeting at different market.
I actually liked the less bassy sound of the OG. If anything, perhaps clarity or more from treble is what I'm looking for. But the creaminess and smoothness is good it reminds me of vinyl or tape
my zeros broke after i untangled them in front of a metal bench and they hit it at essentially full force so im glad to hear that the plastic shells will be of higher quality
I can’t express how happy I am with zero 1 it’s just so good very close to my heart ❤️!! Love the music on it just crisp and emotion stirring!! Right now it’s my best friend ❤
is it good for gaming like counter-strike and valorant? comparing to tangzu waner, moondrop chu 2, 7hz zero og version. which one is the best for valorant and counter-stirke 2 ?
Kept reading about these the past few weeks, pulled the trigger on Amazon and receiving these babies in blue tomorrow evening. I already own two other Linsoul KZS10 Pros and ZST (the blue/red colored ones) IEMs, and I'm much more of an over the head headphone fan, but, the reviews on the improved bass version of these were so positive, I had to buy them. I love me some good bass on IEMs, or headphones, although on the other hand, I'm glad my two HIfiman planars aren't over the top on bass, since those are more for a balanced warm listening experience with a good soundstage. They also suck a lot of power, which I don't find IEMs generally do. I will run these through my IFI xCan amp and Fiio player as always, and test them on my PC rig as well.
I actually really liked the resolution of the top end. I'll be interested to see if we've lost that with the loss of some of the air. Love the new look and QoL stuff though! The Righ channel is starting to go on my Zero 1s.
I think I will prefer my zero better than this zero 2, the thing I like about the og zero's is that their not too bassy and mids/treble sounds pretty good, It won't get me tired after some hours listening.
I wish the casing shape was changed, the top point is too sharp and digs into my ear, making it uncomfortable. Your Thruthear Zero Blue fits in my ear perfectly but I prefer the sound of the 7Hz Zero 1.
Zero 2, Moondrop Chu 1 / 2 or Tangzu Wan'er for FPS games (CS2, Valorant, Tarkov)? Which ones have better imaging and can tell me player locations better?
‼️ESSAY WARNING‼️: I have the Original Salnotes Zero. So I wanna know what the upgrade sounds like, suffice to say that it what I expected. The original Zero was an Audiophile quality blind buy, especially at the price point for me. The clarity and detail is amazing and the soundstage is incredible, and is even comparable to over-ear headphones. But cons, due to its balanced sound signature, the bass could get drowned out by louder environments, but every instrument is very well separated and represented for the same reasons. So it’s more of a study table or studio IEM for me For the Zero 2, The bass is punchy, much punchier than the original, finally audiophile quality that is very suitable for out and about uses. BUT, the detail, instrument separation and soundstage took a bit of a hit, due to the extra bass compared to the original. All in all, the Zero 2 is a more FUN Sounding version of the Original Zero, or in a way, it’s like the Original Zero that I can bring out and about. Final Verdict, if you want a well balanced and “sparkly” sound, get the Original Zero. Or , if you prefer a slightly warmer and punchier sound that is arguably more fun, get the Zero 2. if you want audiophile sound for a great bargain, but to enjoy your music alone in a quiet room, get the Original Zero, but if you want your music to sound FUN, that you can bring and use out and about, also with 95% of the clarity, detail and soundstage of the Original Zero, the Zero 2 is for you.
It graphs distinctly but it sounds similar and better enough, plus the lighter weight and better cable makes this a great sequel. Good break from seeing other chifi companies making a completely different iem and calling it a sequel
The rubber tips come off too easily and I'm surprised I've not lost it yet. Regularly wake up with the ear tips missing or pull them out of my pocket with... the ear tips missing. Did you fix that? The zero's are pretty okay for sleeping in and I can sleep on it but I'd love it if the bottom of the shell was rounded so that it is easier to find the sweet spot and rolling my head wouldn't mute it.
LoL i hope increasing the bass doesn't subdue the overall sound stage🥲.... Bass feels good it does sometimes forecast the mids.... I love how the zero sounds but due to driver limitation it does distort at higher volumes.... But it is still the OG....
The sound's pleasant, with a bit of EQ I can comfortably enjoy them at a lower volume, the cable is peak comfort though. I got the transparent version and it's almost weird seeing how it's JUST the dynamic driver sitting there. Makes me wonder if a Zero:3 could fit in a smaller housing, I've really been enjoying how the Chu 2 fit.
I was considering buying the zero to add to my collection. Then saw Crin's recent vis where he said he'll be releasing Zero2 and waited. Can't wait to grab these but ima wait out even more to see some reviews
I have sennheiser 598's and they were my daily when I picked up the zeros, having forgotten I had a "veil lifter" eq set up, I thought that the zeros were crap for a little bit, then once I remembered that and corrected it, they were better than the 598's, but it was between getting blessing 2's and buying my brothers edition xs'es, the zeros were a necessity because of summer and I needed to run a fan constantly, I wanted some isolation but where never going to be the be all end all for me. I went with blessing 2's because the edition xs compared to the zero... it was tone wise almost the same just not as detailed and I wanted to roll dice on a flaw I noticed in both. I do not regret that at all as the flaw is not present in blessing 2. honestly looking at getting the dusk now because someone said they preferred it over monarch mk2, and as I see our tastes in sound are similar, that's high praise.
..Does it use a sonic filter like the moondrop chu's ?? from the photos it seems like it, and it's right on the tip of the nozzle, meaning it'll get clogged pretty quick.. i used my chu's for a few weeks/a month and the filter clogged up and i had to keep carefully taking it out and cleaning it with alcohol (to keep it sounding like new) until cleaning didn't work and i just had to get rid of it altogether, replacements are out there but kinda expensive and not worth it with shipping and all
The 7hz zero 1 og was my first iem, I didnt even know what iems where, I was looking for a tws and I find a Crinacle video, so I decided to buy the zero, and omg I loved it, now I have more then 20 iems, amps, dongles and the tech related to the hobbie. So now i have a couple of thousand dolars less and Crinacle is guilty of that.
I got a very simple question: Whether I'm on the go or at home, I basically only use bluetooth headphones. The reason? The cable of course, but not in the way most of you would think. I don't mind being tied to a certain space while writing songs, listening to music or playing games. What really bugs me is that I can hear every little movement in the cable, when it taps something, when it rubs against something and I really can't sit still that well (ADHD boy in da house
Cable microphonics will always be present to some extent I believe. Some cables are better than others on this though. I have a TRN T2 cable, and it has noticeably less microphonics than stock chi-fi cables. It's not expensive, so I suggest you try it, see if it helps. Other than that, you can get a Bluetooth adapter for your IEMs (made by trn, kz, fiio, etc). A cheap one would be the TRN BT20XS.
@@grggrgrgg Thanks, mate. I thought maybe there's some tricks and hacks to make the cable less noisy. But maybe another cable does it. I think I'll try some after Christmas, maybe that will do the trick.

I agree. They respond amazingly to EQing.
People in the hobby don’t realize that when they see their favorite band in concert
Every artist has an Iem with an eq in the chain somewhere. It may not need to be used but it’s there in case. I’m excited for this new Zero2 because I’m thinking it Will eq well like the OG, and we might get a few surprises. All the best, Sonny T
Also I like the OG Truthear Zero better than the Red for what we do.
Which Sennheiser IEMs did you have? I am looking at either the IE200 or 300 do to the form factor.
@@Rxtrocal Try Ie 100pro first. you'll never forget
Shut up.
The first version was too quiet for my taste. R u sure I can drive the volume higher?
Are they bassy? Like do they have a punchy bass as its something im looking for with IEMs
Does it have a mic ¿?
as solo musicians. cheaper neutrally tuned iems really help us mix our music more confidently (atleast a big win for 3rd world countries). really great to see that more competitors are coming.
TLDR; more bass, less upper trebble, 24.99$
What the ppl wanted. Lol
Less peaky Treble.
What would y'all recommend, this or the truthear hola?
@@ebiooo Probably this now.
And here are my preferences as an freelance event audio technician:
Accessories:
Out of the box these 3 have simular accessories, but the Chu2 has a little leather etui for storage. But i recommand for all of them a better case.
Cable:
The cabel of the Tangzu is thick and is in 2 seperate cable insulations.
Feel, comfort and sound insulation:
The feel and shape of the Tangzu and 7Hz are very simular with the plastic body and shape of the earbud.
Sound:
Here comes the main part of the analysis.
Ranking:
So after all this is a short summary. I tried to explain it not to tachnical. This is my opinion:
The Wan Er has the best linear sounding with just enough bass and could be my daily driver.
Conclusion:
These are all good headphones for this pricepoint, but i would not recommand the 7Hz that costs a few bucks more than the others.
The Chu2 has the best comfort and style with a warm sound profile. And also a good soundinsulation.
The Wan Er are linear and my recommandation.
I thought i was the only one facing low or no bass. The graph do not tell the whole story. I was hoping somewhat near to the reds. But unfortunately this is just not the case.
less bass is good for fps games thats why i picked the zero 2
Wild take. The Zero 2 has wild bass for me
This is the post I needed. What about the KZ ZSN Pro X, have you tried them🤔
I agree with your review, I bought both Chu2 and Wan Er, I'm planning to keep the Wan Er and gift the Chu 2 to a friend who will appreciate it better.
The transparent plastic looks way more premium in my opinion compared to the original
Can't believe enough time has passed that transparent plastic went from "cheap", "tacky", "toylike" to "premium".
@@Lishtenbird It still kind of is. But IMO at least from pictures the gen 1 plastic looks a lot more toy-like
@@xeoknight845 yeah the one that I have looks really toyish
Me who just bought the Zero 👁️👄👁️
I will never financially recover from this!
Rips
Same for me 😢
😂😂😂
eq your zero to the zero2 ez
The only thing I would change on the saltnotes zero is giving them an ergonomic shell
Did it not fit to our ear? 😮I’m surprised it does for mine comfortably
Honestly the odd shape fits me perfectly, I can even use it while on the bed without discomfort.
Same here good tunning worst fitting it hurts my ears I wish atleast they would have rounded the edges
The top point is too sharp and digs into my ear :(, it sounds great though (slightly better than Thruthear Zero Blue).
Awesome. The Zero was quite popular, but i did wish that it had slightly more bass, or reduced the treble peak. Luckily it seems this version fixed those issues. I already ordered a Zero 2, so just waiting for arrival now.
...I use the impedance adapter from the Truthear Zero Red with my 7Hz Zeroes 😊
Yeah I know, not an option for most people out there, but it works really well.
@@sidesaladaudio👏
Ngl, I still love the original Salnote sound, and it is still my daily driver to this day. I already found my budget end game.
@@DannyGraves1775for thump I use qkz khan, for clarity and extension the KZ pr2 planar, both of which are hbb collabs (sorry, Crin!)
@@DannyGraves1775hello, I would like to know what would your recommendations be between Truthear Zero Red and this 7Hz Zero. I plan on buying one but can't decide which. I am a drummer on Sundays but I also plan to use the IEMs for daily music. Thanks in advance!
3:28 Gently searing your customers is a core part of any marketing strategy 😆
I love my Zero Mecha edition for audiobooks & general phone use. Burgundy was worth a few extra dollars!
Dear Hangout employee on saturday, you were right. Glad I waited!

Crinacle collaborating with many Chi-Fi brands to bring better audio to the masses 🔥🔥🔥
The rest I could basically replace, the no case, the cable, the tips all easy fixes.
what about QC issues with moondrop like condensation and all as they say , a big takeaway for me
@@SAINIDECondensation isn't a QC issue it's a material issue.
Those that do tend to be vocal so it seems like it's a bigger issue then it truly is.
the clear blue looks really sick, hope there also clear red version in future
bro i have never clicked on a video so fast, so excited to pick these up when they come out in the Philippines. Love your videos man
mine came in a couple days ago and i love them. all the same things i loved about the original zero but just like better built. so good !!
is iit immersive and how is it for gaming ,,, you know .. the details and soundstage
I bought the Chu's a long time ago and later on Moondrop released the Chu 2.
Then I bought the Salnotes Zero.
At this point, I should just wait for refined versions of the base IEMs.
And as soon as you buy Whatever 2 a Whatever 3 will be released.
Well I Directly bought chu 2 so maybe I got lucky
Technology is always moving forward. Cars tvs computers audio medical science every thing
Buying every upgrade is not the way lol, might as well get something like a truthear nova or a simgot em6l and be content with it for 5 years instead of buying multiple cheap ones that in the end would add up to be even more expensive than the ones I've mentioned.
Let me just suggest you stop buying $20 now... Like you own the best ones already, you don't need another. Save up and get yourself a $50-100 IEM now.
Had an opportunity to test the Zero:2 at The Hangout a few days ago, was great 👌
Is it worth buying if you've already got a more expensive iem?
why not
Definitely lives up to my expectations. Great collaboration, looking forward to more from you, particularly in terms of content 👍
Now how is zero 2 sir can you update more
would you recommend Chu2 or Zero2?
@@12thjuly63 I like the Zero2 for high end but some may think it is too much! That is an absolute personal preference. The Chu2 is great and I think is better overall as the low end is better and is a bit more balanced with very good highs, but not as pronounced as the Zero2. You will not go wrong with either at the price point. Chu2 also has has better cables and a pouch. If you can't buy both I recommend the Chu2 and you will not regret the bang for the buck! God Bless!

the original Zero is so great, not least that when I forget my Dongle dac I can still hear music as I got the USB-C version (which works well with other low demand iEMS). Good to know you have tweaked the bass - important not just for bass-heads but to help drown out daily background commuting where this product gets a lot of use
I've never been more willing to watch a 6 minute ad than with this video.
Stop being good at this Crin...
glad to see that my zero 2 will come with my happy meal
I needed a new cable for my Zeros and I think this is my replacement cable.
Oh wow, literally every single gripe I had with the first version (despite being my favourite budgets and personal daily drivers) has been corrected or at least had attention. Looking forward to listening, ordering some now if they're in stock.
Edit (21 Apr) - they're good. New daily drivers. Equally as uncomfortable on the back of my ears but good nonetheless.
I only had this for 2 days and I am already impressed with the sound quality although build quality in Chu 2 is better. Thank you and love you crin!
I'm sure I'll end up upgrading in the future, but I'm sure this is the best IEM to start with
Really can i go for it??
Just going to leave a comment here;
I bought these, got them a week later, and only used them for a day, but they sound better than any headset I've ever owned.
AMAZING
For a score I give these a 89/100 only because I have to keep pushing these to an angle for them not to hurt my goblin ears.
Good tuning is truly amazing.
can't wait to buy the zero two and listen to some "2 Phút Hơn"
Crin has more zeros than a rapper talking about his bank account.
Finally. Zero Two earphones
That black/orange variant is eye-catching
Crin, I have to ask... *_Will there be a Mecha (or other) version with the beautiful deep red housing and a sexy black faceplate?_*
The zero 2s were like a gods kiss, I personally havent tried the more expensive ones but for my first iem i bought it twice
Just bought the zero 2 and i have the zero, i must say it is a good improvement all around, at this price point it is almost a steal, good job dude
What about shady treble?

@@kingzam3045 I am using truthear x crinnacle zero blue, I bought 7hz zero og before but compared to truthear, the truthear zero is way better

ZST (the blue/red colored ones) IEMs, and I'm much more of an over the head headphone fan, but, the reviews on the improved bass version of these were so positive, I had to buy them. I love me some good bass on IEMs, or headphones, although on the other hand, I'm glad my two HIfiman planars aren't over the top on bass, since those are more for a balanced warm listening experience with a good soundstage. They also suck a lot of power, which I don't find IEMs generally do. I will run these through my IFI xCan amp and Fiio player as always,
and test them on my PC rig as well.
Guys, quick question: Zero 2 or Chu 2, which one you would prefer and why?
I actually really liked the resolution of the top end. I'll be interested to see if we've lost that with the loss of some of the air. Love the new look and QoL stuff though! The Righ channel is starting to go on my Zero 1s.
You may like the "resolution", but following Harman IE 2019 is IME a road to exaggerated treble.
I think I will prefer my zero better than this zero 2, the thing I like about the og zero's is that their not too bassy and mids/treble sounds pretty good, It won't get me tired after some hours listening.
Just arrived! Thank you for the review and for your tuning! Any suggest for a better cable to replace?
Just got the blue one and when I opened it there are 2 cables tf???
Zamn, so lucky 🤣
I wish the casing shape was changed, the top point is too sharp and digs into my ear, making it uncomfortable. Your Thruthear Zero Blue fits in my ear perfectly but I prefer the sound of the 7Hz Zero 1.
Zero Blue/Red are objectively better. If you prefer a brighter tuning then use EQ to tune your Blues to the Salnotes Zero.
Zero 2, Moondrop Chu 1 / 2 or Tangzu Wan'er for FPS games (CS2, Valorant, Tarkov)?
Which ones have better imaging and can tell me player locations better?
Headphones better for imagine but if you want like inside in the game chose bass boosted one like zero2

Does anyone know if there are foam tips available for this?
‼️ESSAY WARNING‼️:
I have the Original Salnotes Zero.
So it’s more of a study table or studio IEM for me
For the Zero 2, The bass is punchy, much punchier than the original, finally audiophile quality that is very suitable for out and about uses.
I see a small poke at “lunar-fall”. At this point that brand is throwing darts at random ideas and not actually r&d-ing.
i still like my orignal salnote zero since i like my iem's sparkly and less base
do you guys know where to buy the filter for salnotes zero?, because my filter gone💀
Other than that the zero has been the best IEM I've used so far.
No anime girl on box, 0/10.
Heck yeah.!! We need wifus.
Which one would be good for gamming bgmi or pubg mobile for positional accuracy footstep etc, mic is not necessary

Becereful it's fun but sometimes you need to thinking it's already good.
We hopping on the Franxx with this one.
Great sound! Much much better than the first edition.
The Zero 1 cable is awesome dude. It never tangles, it’s very durable, and it doesn’t get sticky, why change that?
because the Zero:2 wires are stronger and the cable is easier to manipulate so less awkward to move around
Opted for the Wan'er instead of the Zero. Very easy to listen to. Will this offer a better experience?
Does salnote zero 2 comes with mic?
Zero 2 vs KZ D-Fi?
When will the type c variant launch or will it even launch? Coz if it doesnt have type c then I will have to buy the original zero
Just bought them and now im finding this interesting vid about them, thats pretty cool
Missed the chance to put zero two on the box 😥 I love my anime waifus

Currently enjoying my newly bought zero 2. No complaints.
I find it quite fitting that I;m watching this video while using my pair of Salnotes Zero.
shopee and lazada doesnt seel it yet :( , though i did bought the salnotes zero mecha in linsoul. so uhh.. zero 2 mecha when?
Is the 7 Hz Crinacle Zero 2 better than the 7 Hz salnotes zero? for FPS games where I need to know how far away and where the sound of enemy footsteps is coming from?
Well old one better because less bass more top end for clarity.
