The Criterion version of It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World with the extra footage is incredible. It's surprising to see what they cut out- just watching that version feels like watching a different, longer movie. And the extra footage surprisingly improves the film!
Dianey sure knew how to go all out with their Deluxe Edition LD sets. I had their Toy Story and Famtasia sets, and they were truly the definition of meaty.
A scene in "Foul Play", Goldie Hawn is held captive in a flat(apartment), one floor below, two elderly ladies are playing Scrabble but are using all profanities(Motherf***er, etc.) Scene I still remember to this day. Dudley Moore was in the movie as well, to my recollection.
Your comments on the Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii kind of surprised me: I don't know if this was just Region 4, but the DVD release we got here in Australia had both the revised version - with the new animation, the in-the-studio stuff and the Dark Side tracks - and the original, unedited version of the film.
You prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost my login password. I love any help you can offer me
@Zayn Niko I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
GREAT video Ben! Just a quick note: " A WOMAN OF AFFAIRS " has been released as a DVD-R earlier this year through the WARNER ARCHIVE MOD program. Sadly, " THE CROWD ", " GREED " & " THE WIND " are STILL not available on DVD / Blu-Ray for whatever reason. In any case, till they release them legitimately, I have digital copies of them from off-air TCM recordings I made.
MGM/UA Laserdiscs released a couple of volumes of the "Our Gang" comedies minus the Leonard Maltin intros back in the late 1990s. The first box set consists of the early silent films.
Love seeing the silent movie laserdiscs, The Crowd and The Wind are still not available on DVD or Blu-ray as of this comment, some older formats are still worth collecting, especially with regard to titles that are out of circulation.
I have the DVD of live at pompeii, not sure if it's a re-release but it does have the original cut on it was well. (thank goodness because honestly that re-done version sucks)
ive got quite a few LD's, even found a few in a thriftstore here in sydney!, seller of the deck damaged the unit, refused t ogive me the remote and gave me goldeneye claiming its woth a hundread and a suitible replacement for a remote LOL the set is like what 5$ online
I Found a Laserdisc Updated! It was beautiful discs, and the dead sides about disco vision, CD is good, laserkaraoke demonstration. (Based on the episode on the OA laserkaraoke party episode soon) - Ben
GUYS, LOOK. I ACTUALLY HAVE MY ENTIRE DVD & VHS COLLECTION, ALRIGHT? WHEN I WAS 8, 9 10, 11, 12, OR 13 YEARS OLD I USED 2 WATCH MY FAVORITE DVD/VHS MOVIES OF ALL TIME, BY THE WAY.
I have a few buster keaton shorts on dvd courtesy of the catcom home theatre public domain dvd (yes the company catcom is real) They are nice novelties for fans of drive in theatres and Saturday matinees
Ben has enough junk to his house to be considered a dump.

The main reason why I purchased a laser disc player was for the Beatles Let it be movie. It took a few copies to find one without laser rot.

Another great episode, some real gems in your collection! Yes, we all picked up Hardbodies "out of curiosity" back in the day!

Great collection on LD movies and Oddities
Buster Keaton - A Hard Act To Follow is out on DVD in UK you can get it from Amazon UK also a lot of Buster Keaton films are on Blu-ray over here.
My understanding is it's the same unfinished workprint as on the LD.
"Brain Donors" and the Penn&Teller one are on my must-see list. I had never heard of those before and I trust Ben's taste in comedy.

Impressive collection Ben! That was really fun to watch.
For what it's worth, Real Gone Music (the American label, not the EU public domain one) just released the audio of the Richard Thompson disc on CD.

Live at Pompeii was a trippy video, I too saw it as a young kid. I saw the VHS at the library one day and I begged my mom to borrow it for me.

Ben I always am fascinated with your collection of oddities (pardon the pun). This like always was great.
Have you heard Laurie Anderson's 1982 album 'Big Science'. It has the No.2 (UK) Single 'O Superman'. It's very unusual, but it's a good album.

Just wanted to tell you the sound at the very beginning of your videos scares the cat. He's heard it enough times but doesn't learn
Ben needs to eBay some junk
46:15 are those LDRs?
Do you make a living from your UA-cam channel? You seem consistent with your uploads, that's why I wonder if you have a day job.
You should have whisper and made it an ASMR video.
Yea... I also very much dislike Raising Arizona. It's just bad.
At least take the price tags off your collection!!
At least with Goodwill, it's either leave the sticker on or suffer with a big goo patch on the cover.
