"High Peak Score" would be a great name for the overall rating system 😎
You'll be suggesting that he does a "Quirks & Features" section next !
What about, “Crap-ometer” ⏲
Or a Peakometer
@@dansimmons21 good compromise
Very original….. Doug
I used to work as a driver for Jag Landrover and drove these when they first came out - great car!!
I have the Chequered Flag and the highest mpg I have achieved is 75mpg! We brought it with us when we moved to France last year and it has been impeccable. Servicing is costly but on par with other luxury brands.
THANK YOU!
I have been waiting to do this review for some time. I like the way you handle your reviews, educated, clear and concise, not the "used car" pitch of which we see too many.
Cheers!
I have never really liked SUV's in general, but this review has mellowed my opinion. A great looking vehicle and nothing like a Chelsea tractor - far more class.
Brilliant review as always .. succinct without any annoying music and "production" nonsense ...just
what most people want in my opinion .
The F pace is one of the best designs of any car of recent years .. it just works in every way .
Ive Just bought 19plate chequred flag edition! Absolutely love it 👌🏽
Good choice!
Great review. Your descriptions and flawless commentary I feel are far better than any ‘4/10’ type scale. For me they paint the picture of actually owning and living with the vehicles under review. The F Pace is a lot of car, manual seats a bit of a surprise.
Another excellent review of a very interesting car , you give such balanced reviews of what it would be like to own the vehicle you are reviewing and you set the benchmark for other car reviewers to follow .
When you mentioned Doug Demuro, l thought you were going to attempt "Thiiiiiis!"
Great vid, as always, Mat. 😊
Haha maybe next time!
@@HighPeakAutos l look forward to it! 😊
I hate Doug De Muro, in fact 99% of American reviewers are intolerable.
@Shay McCusker should*
@@sandersson2813 me too, you’re left with a headache after watching one of his videos
Another great review, love this channel and always look forward to coming back here. I’m not surprised your channel is growing at quite a steady pace, keep up the great work :)
Thank you for the support
I'm in my 30's and owned an fpace for 4 years, just ordered a factory build of the facelift. As a family man it's been perfect for lugging, commuting, long distance. Great SUV if you need a workhorse. My only gripe is crappy infotainment and Bluetooth connection. In 4 yra of ownership and 27k miles just needed to replace an outer CV Boot on the nearside front.
Another great video! Love this car as well. Related to your rating system you could give cars an overall A-F grade or do three pros and cons at the end. Don't make it too much because your delivery style is top notch.
I have a 2019 F-Pace 300 Sport. Hasn't missed a beat and I love it. Handling, performance and comfort all top notch.
Thanks to you I bought a 2008 Cayenne v6 and I really liked the car. I was thinking to buy a L322 but I am living in Amsterdam and believe me it is so difficult to find a proper mechanic in here so I trusted your comments and bought the Porsche. I have been watching car videos for a long time but probably you are the most friendly one. I have been watching your videos from the begining and I feel like your are my friend :) Appriciate your work.
Good choice! Thanks for watching! I do like the Cayenne :)
Great video as always Matt, thank you once again for your efforts 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
My pleasure!
Absolutely love these cars. Great review once again. Keep up the great work.
Another great and useful video matt! Thank you for the great content!
I don't know what it is with other manufacturers but Jag have just managed to pull the design of this car off. It's just right. The X5, Q7, Cayenne and others all look just a little bit awkward in their styling. It's a super handsome car and looks amazing in that dark blue colour.
Have been watching your videos for a while now. Really appreciate the captions for the L/100km conversion! Thanks!
Great Video as always Matt! We have had our F Pace 2.0d 4 years now and only had two issues! Rear camera replaced under warranty twice and prematurely corroded brake discs.
The engine is a little gutless and the gear change can be a little hesitant off the line. However the ride and comfort over long trips is sublime. I spend 10 hours behind the wheel driving back from Cornwall last week and never felt tired once!
How many miles?
I’ve always loved how these look! Truly a beautiful car and it still looks distinctive unlike most other suvs.
Seriously considering one of these when it's time to chop the Disco Sport in in a couple of years. I've definitely got the JLR bug. I just can't get excited about the equivalent Merc/Audi/BMW offerings. Great video as usual Matt.
Thanks!
My wife recently got a new face-lifted f pace r dynamic se p250 petrol. Wonderful interior and so refined to drive.
Nice looking car, and as always great honest review Matt..
Thanks! 👍
I think this is the first car you've done for many a month which has had me scurrying to Autotrader. Definitely on the possible list. Thank you.
Always felt like the Jaguar crossovers and SUVs are for people who actually are classy, not the swathes of qashquais and jukes, and not for drug dealers in Audi Qs or BMW X models. Great review Matt!
I agree! I like the idea of that
I agree with this, and the newer Volvo ones are very classy.
I have an F-Pace 3.0d S with the the red & black leather interior, it was the reason I bought it lol, fantastic car. Had it nearly 3 years and always great fun to drive!
Great review! I have a 68 Plate 2.0d in Portfolio spec and it’s a smooth, comfortable car with so much space for the family and the pup.
Another well-informed review, I've never really considered an F Pace before, but worth looking at.
Excellent review as usual! Keep up the good work.
Another great review. My current XJ Portfolio with the 3ltr diesel is my 6th Jag and I love it. I think the F Pace will be my 7th Jag but it will have to be the 3ltr diesel Portfolio, performance, luxury and economy in a car that is sooo much better to look at than the BMW or Audi alternatives.
Finally mpg conversion to liters per 100km, always had trouble calculating consumptions in my head when watching British car reviews, now I don't need Google assistance heh, nice touch. Great content as always. Best regards from Serbia!
Thanks for watching! I'll try to remember to do that in each video
Now it's time for a yugo review
“THIS” is a Jaguar F-Pace. Great video, as ever. (I do want one, but I couldn’t afford it)
Absolutely love your channel Matt one liners are worth the wait. Great banter with awesome feedback on cars. Keep it up buddy love it 👊💪👍🏻
Glad you like them!
Very much appreciated the l/100km conversion!
When you started knocking on your door at 4.20 is exactly what I do on most cars I drive!! 😄😄
Matt- we've got the same model and colour with the alcantara roof and uprated wheels. Love it and you hit the nail on the head with the description of how it drives. Great review as always, well done.
Good choice!
Love the diversity of the channel, yesterday we had a Chinese rubbish of a car and today we had a luxury motor, would love to buy one!!
Another damn good video. Snappy, to the point and not swayed by the rumours out there.
Thanks!
"From the driver's seat you look out over the bulging muscular bonnet", cut to image of driver in shorts showing off his white 'sparrow legs.' Bromance between man and machine. I never miss an update. Love the channel. Binge watching your reviews put a smile on many a lockdown day.
Excellent review thanks I’m considering changing from XF Sportbrake and this was very helpful
Another great review. Get to ride in quite a few JLR products and you’re right … this is the sweet spot and agree with your view of the V6, it’s a nice power plant.
Id avoid ingenium 2.0 diesel. Struggles to shift the xe imagine it in this. Clattery too. Interiors tinny but they do make a good steering wheel. Its a looker too.
Thanks Matt! Inspired me to buy a 2020 F Pace chequered flag (2.0 D). Arriving next week! What a beauty of a car.
I'm glad you bring into ( my ) attention car models I knew about, but never considered one, until now.
That Doug impression was absolutely amazing
Thanks, great review of a truly great car. I have the 3.0 diesel S version and I absolutely love it.
Good choice! Thats the one I would go for too
About time you did the F-Pace! Great video! Would be interesting to see you review the 3.0D S F-Pace, which is a lot better equipped.
Great video Matt.... very informative and a slick no-nonsense review of the FPace. As a car ranking keep it a simple traffic light system...if it’s highly rated then it’s green and if it’s to be avoided it’s a red. Amber is a car you buy with your heart and not your head!
Excellent review of a much underrated SUV. Thankyou.
I think I watch your channel mainly for the beautiful north Derbyshire scenery of my teens and twenties. I also value your considered comments on used luxury cars especially from the JLR ranges.
Where are you from?
Love your reviews Matt. Relaxed, informative, honest and highly amusing. To be honest I would not get into a scoring system. They have their places but would make your reviews too impersonal. Giving your honest impressions (warts and all) of each car is why your channel is so popular. Keep up the good work.
Brilliant video as always advertisements doing my head in
Watching this once more (two years later) now that I am considering buying one.
Thankyou. I said I was waiting for this review and it did not disappoint. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed it
Really pleased Jaguars are finally coming of age
Had an XJ4.0 a few years into Ford ownership and it was the first V8 Jag did and it was an early CanBus car too
It was absolutely lovely when it worked properly
Unfortunately that was rare...very rare
Rank based on Driveway appeal, just like you said in the video
My grandfather has a red F-Pace portfolio, he’s had it for 4 years and loves it. They were always Ford people until the bought there old freelander 2, since then they have replaced the Freelander with a disco sport. They have definitely converted now :)
Good choice! I like them in red
Hey, Matt, Great review as always!
Thank you for putting fuel economy conversion on screen!
As for the car ratings, it might be a nice addition to summarize the car you've reviewed. I'm trying to think of something unique, but am failing to do so. I feel like the Doug's rating system is very good and thorough.
If I were to look for a car, I would look for the best balance of fuel economy, comfort, practicality (can I go on a ski trip or on a summer vacation with 3-4 other people), simple tech (I hate huge screens like in Teslas or new Mercedes cars, I just use the navigation and bluetooth music streaming... Also the controls that I can adjust while looking at the road - buttons, dials, not the futuristic stuff like in Golf 8, there is only 1 button in that car and others are some touch sensitive sliders and touch screens...) - maybe that part can be better specified. You might call it technology user experience :)
Also, you must add the cupholder rating :)
I feel like if you made a chart with all cars that it would be way more useful than Doug's because you review cars that most people are looking for.
Thanks for the help. I need to put some thought into this so its more relevant for potential buyers
Excellent review again and thankyou 🙃
In the last decade or so this is the equation to car brand success.
SUV = Immense popularity = Saved the brand = loads of extra cash on top!
This can be good (eg this) and bad (eg juke
Thats right. Love them or loathe them, they are profitable
Another cracking review! Love from India :)
Great video Matt, I love these Jag SUVs. Thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks for watching!
My in-laws had the 3.0d V6, and it was brilliant. Fast, silky smooth and had an impressive range. A GT for the 21st century. Traded it in at 3 years old with 23k on it for only £33k (it was officially a MEGA SPEC car with almost every option). Whoever picks that car up has got themselves an absolute bargain.
Great video as always, Matt. Your channel is really flying now! Keep it up.
That’s the one I would go for too. What did they replace it with?
@@HighPeakAutos A Q7 black edition (Cheshire spec) 55 TFSI: Nice, but i still preferred the Jag.
Thank you Matt for another great video. I love watching your videos, you are both entertaining and informative to watch.
I've never been over keen on a big lumbering SUV specially after following a few of them when the roads get even a little twisty or when they are trying to park in a crowded car park.
I often consider them a mix between a look at me mobile and an advert to warn other road users of the driver inability to drive so they have bought an oversized stupid mobile to overcompensate.
However you appear to be convincing me, that I may want to buy one, specially with this new breed of Jaguar SUV they do look very good and the 3 litre 300bhp F-Pace diesel may provide a bit more enjoyment than the average SUV when the roads get twisty.
I had one of these as a hire car from Heathrow to Torquay, it loved the A303 and I loved it.
I was really impressed with it too
I have just bought a 17 plate F Pace 3.0l d Sport in many ways due to your review - it has the red and black leather interior with a pale silver paint job - wouldn't have chosen those colours but getting a 3.0l diesel was quite hard near to us. No issues with the door panels!
Great review as always. Each time I watch one of your videos, I immediately feel like getting one of the cars...except the Chinese Rover from the other day
Hahaha fair enough! Thanks for watching
Nice video Matt. They’re actually great cars, very practical and economical. Front is its best angle. The 3.0 TDV6 is Best Buy, very linear drive train and the torque means it’s effortless to drive 👌
Yes they are! I agree about the front, the back could be a little better
Tdv6 / sdv6 is a crisis waiting to happen
@@mvubu6823 why’s that 😯
@@JamesSmith-ll7lc poorly designed.
The very best explanation is a recent video on LR TIME. One of the best mechanical lessons I have ever seen.
I own a discovery V8 and Freelander 2, so I'm not anti Landy, just be sure you know what you're buying
I've recently bought a 4yr old 3.0S F Pace and love it to bits.
Pleased to hear it
Nice looking against the the lovely scenery of the peak district 👌
Excellent review. 👍
I've owned 10 cars in almost 30 years: 6 sedans/saloons, 2 coupés and 2 cabriolets. Therefore I'm not an SUV guy, but I watch and value a quality review nonetheless 👍.
Another great video, thanks.
Don’t score them, just do what you do best. Give us your honest, expert and most importantly “your” opinion. If it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it! 👍🏻😀
Top-notch review as normal Matt
Thanks!
I have one. Have seen 55mpg on the motorway. Engine a bit loud when pushed hard but very quiet in normal cruise mode, and roadholding/steering excellent for a 4WD.
Thanks Matt, we got our 2017 Portfolio 2-0 AWD a couple of months back and we love it, I couldn’t wait for to see what you thought. Ours has just got 40k miles on the clock and bought it from Jaguar main dealer here in York. We also took out the extra warranty.
Good choice. Enjoy it. I really enjoyed using this one
Your review was great and the reason I bought one 6 months ago here in Aus.2016 2.0ltre diesel prestige, same colour as the one in your review.Brilliant car, love it's looks, drive and economy my wife drives it mostly I'm the concierge cleaning and garaging.Paid exactly what you said for a car that had done 25,000km.
Very nice
bought a 2018 with the 2 liters 250 hp, 2 weeks ago, love it
Looking at a 2018 at the moment, can I ask you what sort of price am I looking at?
Great review. This is one of my favourite Jaags, at the moment, it's got enough space for John Prescott and Tyson Fury to have good scrap🥊. Matt, nice shorts😜
Looks like a good choice to buy one of these 👍🏼 I think you could rate the cars by giving them ‘Matt points’’ on a scale of your choosing or ‘high peak points’ HPP for short. 🤷♂️
Thanks for another great Jag video. I prefer your intelligent presentation to Doug’s subjective number score (4 of 10 etc).
Yay just what I needed on this sweaty evening and can't sleep. Just my 2pence but I like the front and hate the rear
For me, the front is just meh, and the rear a big, fat a*se.
I agree with you about "every brand has issues. I like the F Pace a very nice care and looks really good.
I’ve always liked the design of the F-pace, when I win the Euros I’m going to buy the SVR variant🤩🤩
4:15 im glad you mentioned that rattles and creaks are common on Jaguar Land Rover vehicles. I have a pretty new XE R-Sport, and there's one or two rattles coming from somewhere within the cab that no garage has been able to pinpoint and its been driving me insane. I thought I was the only one hearing it
Thank you!
Hi Matt! I've been watching your videos since....You bought the first Range Rover on this channel. You have your own original approach, so keep that! We are your subscribers just because we don't give a doug about scores :))) Anyways, the Jag F-Pace it's out of my budget for now, i was damn curious to see one on your channel, and I am glad you did a vid with it! Thumbs up as always! Cheers
Thanks!
I have the P300 and it is honestly the best car I have had. No reliability issues but bit steep on fuel but the engine performance and noise is the pay off.
Definitely another one when the time comes to change.
Thanks for the mpg to L/100km conversion matt🤜🏻🤛🏻
I’ll try and do it in every video
Another great vid Matt 👍
Cheers
Don't forget the 2.0l d ingenium with 240ps (twin turbo) much smoother and more refined than the 180ps
Lovely video, as usual, Matt. I do wish cars had larger windows nowadays. So claustrophobic in the back.
Its quite light in the back of this one. The glass roof helps
So enjoyable watching your reviews. I am considering either an Audi Q5 or the F Pace... hmmm
Great video, I remember driving a 2l Portfolio F pace back in the winter of 2016. Nice comfy cars
I was impressed with it
Nice cars and the 2016-17 models are coming into a lot of people’s price range cheers Matt …
Rehab playing.!
Great review cheers 👍
Another Great Video, Many Thanks Matt. Peace From London. ✌️✌️
Cheers Mick
Almost as good as XF Sportbrake! :)
Called in to the garage to say hello today on a trip from Sth Wales to the Dales...soz to have missed u..keep it up with the channel...
That’s a good old drive! Thanks for watching. Cheers
