Thanks to you I bought a 2008 Cayenne v6 and I really liked the car. I was thinking to buy a L322 but I am living in Amsterdam and believe me it is so difficult to find a proper mechanic in here so I trusted your comments and bought the Porsche. I have been watching car videos for a long time but probably you are the most friendly one. I have been watching your videos from the begining and I feel like your are my friend :) Appriciate your work.

I'm in my 30's and owned an fpace for 4 years, just ordered a factory build of the facelift. As a family man it's been perfect for lugging, commuting, long distance. Great SUV if you need a workhorse. My only gripe is crappy infotainment and Bluetooth connection. In 4 yra of ownership and 27k miles just needed to replace an outer CV Boot on the nearside front.

Great Video as always Matt! We have had our F Pace 2.0d 4 years now and only had two issues! Rear camera replaced under warranty twice and prematurely corroded brake discs.
The engine is a little gutless and the gear change can be a little hesitant off the line. However the ride and comfort over long trips is sublime. I spend 10 hours behind the wheel driving back from Cornwall last week and never felt tired once!

I don’t know what it is, but there is something just ‘pleasant’ about JLR interiors. They’re not austere like Audi, and BMW sometimes are, they’re not overly blingy or tacky like some Mercedes interiors, and they’re simpler than most Lexus interiors. They’re definitely improving in build quality as well. The build quality in the 2016 Discovery Sport we had made a Year 7’s DT project look well made. Every single component squeaked, rattled or moved when you touched in, and the many materials felt cheap as well. The same went for all of the JLR courtesy cars we had at the time as well. Now though, my dad has a Jag iPace and it’s in a different league, and actually feels very well built, while retaining the aforementioned ‘pleasantness’. Great video Matt

My xf rsport is 2017. Not a bit of bother and sips fule. Really think jaguar are on the up, and a new boss. Great video asual 👍. Got mine with 26 thousand on the clock. Like the man says, look after it and the rest will take care of itself.

My girlfriend is obviously a fan - we went out in her F-Pace yesterday; when I went to put my coffee in one of the cup holders, I found her phone, house keys, hand sanitizer (never thought I’d say that), chewing gum and a lip gloss. When I asked why didn’t she use the central binnacle top store all that she just said “it’s easier just to throw my stuff there… the cup holders are way better….”

This is my favourite car channel aside from Mr DeMuro's, and I have to say I find the lack of a score refreshing. They're so arbitrary, and it seems that you'd get your opinion across in the body of the review, anyway. The great thing about your reviews is that you sound like a regular person - incredibly well-informed - but it's like listening to an owner tell you about their car. It feels real, and not just another car review channel. I'd be confident in what you're doing, and just do you :-)

Hi Matt! I've been watching your videos since....You bought the first Range Rover on this channel. You have your own original approach, so keep that! We are your subscribers just because we don't give a doug about scores :))) Anyways, the Jag F-Pace it's out of my budget for now, i was damn curious to see one on your channel, and I am glad you did a vid with it! Thumbs up as always! Cheers

Interesting car, just went with my wife to check one today. When I came home it cooled me down by reliability horror stories I found on internet for 2.5d with 240bhp engine/turbos fails with low mileage.

Another great video! Love this car as well. Related to your rating system you could give cars an overall A-F grade or do three pros and cons at the end. Don't make it too much because your delivery style is top notch.

Thanks Matt, we got our 2017 Portfolio 2-0 AWD a couple of months back and we love it, I couldn’t wait for to see what you thought. Ours has just got 40k miles on the clock and bought it from Jaguar main dealer here in York. We also took out the extra warranty.

I have the P300 and it is honestly the best car I have had. No reliability issues but bit steep on fuel but the engine performance and noise is the pay off.
Definitely another one when the time comes to change.

As a follow up to my previous comment. We have owned the F Pace since moving to France almost a year ago and it has been a great car. I’ve had a few over my 30+ years of driving and this is one of the better cars I have owned. However, as we now live permanently in France and it’s a right hand drive car, we have decided to sell it. My first call was to the JLR main dealer we bought it from last year. The news was confusing but good. The used value had gone up and we have been offered more than we paid for it! I also checked we buy any car and their offer has increased a month after their first, also to more than we paid for the car! A first for me!

yeh go for a rating score you could use your high peak logo where they sit in terms of , one side of the mountain for comfort and driveability and the other side for running costs and value for money. I love these reviews , the best on the net. Thanks Matt.

Jaguar is my favourite brand, I’m 42 now and as far back as I can remember I’ve always been drove around in a jag, my old man adores them having recently finished restoring a 1966 mk2 from the ground up, he also drives a 2001 xkr he got from new, he is jag mad. there is a video on UA-cam under hand built cars. Anyway back to the f pace I’m seriously considering getting a f pace and after watching the vid I’d definitely opt for the 3.0 v6, the issue I’m having is I like the f pace but I adore the XF sport brake. I have a long haired German shepherd and she has killed my current car. Dog hair everywhere, back seat’s filthy so I want a car that keeps her well in the back with a screen up and both cars can give me that and the f pace will give me the high ride and ruggedness when I’m taking my best friend on long walks but the sport brake just looks so god dam good and with the r sport model they look amazing in the right colour. I’m in a dilemma 😂

Hey, Matt, Great review as always!
Thank you for putting fuel economy conversion on screen!
As for the car ratings, it might be a nice addition to summarize the car you've reviewed. I'm trying to think of something unique, but am failing to do so. I feel like the Doug's rating system is very good and thorough.
If I were to look for a car, I would look for the best balance of fuel economy, comfort, practicality (can I go on a ski trip or on a summer vacation with 3-4 other people), simple tech (I hate huge screens like in Teslas or new Mercedes cars, I just use the navigation and bluetooth music streaming... Also the controls that I can adjust while looking at the road - buttons, dials, not the futuristic stuff like in Golf 8, there is only 1 button in that car and others are some touch sensitive sliders and touch screens...) - maybe that part can be better specified. You might call it technology user experience :)
Also, you must add the cupholder rating :)
I feel like if you made a chart with all cars that it would be way more useful than Doug's because you review cars that most people are looking for.

The misses had her heart set on one, so despite my concerns about JLR as a whole, we got a 17 plate r-sport 2l diesel. It was hard to find the colour and spec for our budget as they hold their value so well but it is a lovely motor. I got the engine carbon cleaned as it wasn't quite producing the mpg I had seen on the forums. It is better now but I may get it remapped (the great handling deserves a little more performance but I didn't win the tax/ insurance/ fuel cost argument for a V6!) I only wish the review had come out sooner and I would have canned the BMW X3 option straight away! Great review once again Matt! Friendly Adblue tip - I would say buy one of those expensive Jag Adblue bottles, use it, cut the bottom out and then use that to funnel a bigger container of Adblue in when it is required. I believe other nozzle attachments are available too...😉

Quite suprised you were happy with the interior quality above the waist. Personally thought it was shocking in my XE and the F-pace even more so when it costs so much more. bar the leather on the seats, the rest of the plastics were almost Ford grade all over. Everything felt a little tinny and hollow. I suppose you did point some of them out though! KNACK KNACK

    • @bensmithkent22
      @bensmithkent22 3 роки тому +1

Agree utterly shambolic plastics and switches (steering wheel aside) I went to a vag saloon from a jag. For the record a boggo Golf 7 is leagues ahead of this for quality inside. Shame as I have a soft spot for jag.

White on the grab handles and seat bases? Why? Sit on them in new jeans and see the dye from your clothes on the seat. Not to mention kids are usually sticky fingered, chocolate covered, crisp crumb carrying creatures. Black will always look better for longer. This also goes for the headlining. White shows up everything and can't be vigorously cleaned as the glue will fail. Just one incident with a can of soda and it will never look the same. My wife's car has black headlining and black leather seats on a 8 year old car looks like new despite the formentioned terrors using her car like an adventure playground.
Enough of my rant, another great review. You and JayEmm are my favourite reviewers. Thank you.
