The most underrated car in the history of cars. I own an X351 XJ. Earlier today I was on my way home after its annual service and it dawned on me. I can't replace it.. There is nothing like it. It's perfection.
@@connortraynor1643 I service the car once a year, immaterial of mileage covered. I've had my XJ Portfolio for nearly three years now and it still puts a huge smile on my face when I look at it and drive it. A car thats the size of a barge but the performance, handling and economy of a small hot hatch! Brilliant review of a stunning car.
The biggest cost is replacement timing belts, quoted up to £1500, main dealer was best price quoted around £900. All other services I go to a local garage that I trust £220 full service. Shop around but belts are a bitch!

Funny you say that!! I drove XJ's for 30 years. Traded in in for practical reasons for a Beemer 530d estate. To be fair a great car in all respects. 4 years later I have never bonded with it.as I did with my Jags. I miss that feeling and by spring next year I will buy a 2018/2019 XJR or Portfolio. Dated tech but got to get that love back.
I bought a 2011 XJ LWB Portfolio spec at age 20 and it really is the perfect car for any age. I don’t get any old man comments and it has endless charm. Absolutely go out and buy one - best car you’ll ever own!
I bought a 2019 XJ on impulse three weeks ago. I was looking at the XF but when I sat in the XJ Portfolio I just new this was what I wanted. I have not been disappointed, excellent drive andovertaking is a breeze.
@@darrengerman5761 I don't own one, but having driven cars with and without reverse cameras, I'd say the XJ with a reverse camera is easy to park. Tip: don't just stare at the reverse camera when your parking 😂, please use your mirrors too.
It is certainly a long car and will not fit into tight spaces. But the reverse camera is very good and as already stated the wing mirrors give good visibility. I live more in the country so parking is generally easier in any case. It is too long for some parking slots with the rear end sticking out a foot or so.
Stunning car. To think that design is 12 years old is baffling. Looks bang up to date particularly in this spec. Has to be the nicest spec I've seen on these XJ's. Loving the video editing effects 👌🏽
This video came out at the perfect time, just after purchasing my 2016 xjl. I asked Matt for his opinion before buying it. And now that I'm driving it, i love it. Such a special vehicle. Thank you Matt and i must say what a beautiful video you made, you really stepped up your game. Keep it up 😍
I'll consider myself a lucky man. After 3 XF-S - two diesel and a petrol supercharged V6 - I was in a position to buy a 2017 XJ-R 575. Almost identical to the one in the vid barring the quad exhaust and black interior. It is brutal - when provoked, but it's also a sedate cruiser when it wants to be. It will catch many a boy racer out - and the noise from the engine on cold start is fantastic. Prod the throttle and it goes, oh boy does it go!!! Took a run up the Antrim coastal route on a car meet - had a Porsche driver behind, and he commented that he couldn't believe it goes round corners like it does. It is a sublime ride, providing (for me) the right amount of stiffness, but still compliant. Fuel? Yes, it can be thirsty round town, but on the open road, it'll easily attain 35-38mpg - not bad for a rip snorting supercharged V8. Yes, I'm still a lucky man.
I'm glad somebody notices the lack of XJ in Jaguar's lineup. To me, a Jaguar lineup without an XJ is incomplete, just like Porsche without a 911. XJ is to Jaguar what 911 is to Porsche. Jaguar shat the bed canning the almost developed new XJ, successor to the XJ X351. These are torrid times for a Jaguar fan, and I'm thankful that you decided to make a video on this X351 R-Sport. Loved it!
I had a 3.0 v6 petrol R-sport. It was fantastic. One moment you were wafting down the road like royalty. Then choose Sports and dynamic modes and become a boy racer again. The shape remains fresh and up to date even after a decade. This was a Jaguar masterpiece and I so hope they recover this spirit.
Maaan. I have to say your reviews are better than Doug's. Love the channel. Got me through hospital ( was in a coma after Covid and spent 4+ months in hospital) Best downtime ever. Thanks for all the replies to my comments, means a lot to a viewer.
Last year I went from a 2010 XFS to a 2014 XJR and the difference is like night and day. Both cars cost a bit to keep on the road but are well worth it. The great thing about the XJR is that it rewards you not only when you plant your right foot, but also when you are driving Miss Daisy.
The car that made me a petrol head was my Jaguar XF Facelift model that I owned for a few years. Simply put to me it was one of the most beautiful car's I've ever seen. The drive, the engine, the elegance. Smooth 8 speed gearbox I loved that car. Unfortunately I live in a rural part of France and they either refused to touch it or don't know how to repair it. I'd drive hours to main dealers that would charge us 650 euros for a service where the oil was never properly filled and dirty rags were left into the engine bay. The nail in the coffin was when I got the common water pump leak that damaged the footwell fusebox and left us with a 2000 euro bill. Since, I've concluded that if I was still living in UK I'd definitely still have one as they know how to repair them and there's a few private Jag specialist garage's around. It's not normal when you want to do something as simple as say change the sparkplugs and having to rip apart a shit ton of parts to get in. Whereas my Honda Accord you remove the plastic covering and voila. They're worth it if you have the budget for the unexpected.
My XJ is an absolute bargain to keep on the road compared to my friend's Maserati Quatroporte. She finally said, "Enough's enough," and bought a Tesla. Another win for the dark side.
Matt's the reason I purchased a XJ 350 and now i have to get a X351, the best production ever you done mate, watched this a year ago and to see him gain other 120k of subscibers isnt surprsing. Well done, had work pays off
Completely agree regarding the axing of the XJ by Jaguar. They had the replacement designed and tested and ready to put into production. They wrote off a huge sum by cancelling it. Even if it didn’t sell in huge numbers and wasn’t perhaps going to be a cutting edge electric vehicle, it would have bridged the gap between what Jaguar have now and what they will launch in a couple of years. I suspect a lot of the drive train would have come from the iPace so would still be reasonably competitive as electric cars go. I didn’t understand the decision then and I still don’t today.
@@jockwross I can never understand why people arrive at that conclusion based on basically nothing at all. They are part of the same group that makes Land Rover and Range Rover models, so no, they are not broke. Jags do tend to be a niche market but then they always have been. So are the vast majority of other big cars; same with sports cars like Lamborghini and Ferrari but they survive. One of the biggest issues is that there seems to be a culture of people slagging them off that have never owned or even driven one, and know virtually nothing about them. It's all nonsense but it must put some people off buying them.
The fact that they didn't take the skateboard from the iPace and put an XJ replacement on it is one of the dumbest moves Jaguar has made in its entire history - and, yes, I'm including the decision to cancel the original mid-engine V6 roadster they were going to sell it an affordable, British Boxster/Z competitor and spend the money to turn the X-Type into a diesel-burning estate.
Can only say Matt you've done a perfect video on my favourite car!....I have the pleasure of driving various 'barges' as part of my job, but instantly fell for the XJ, so thanks for confirming my choice is the right one! Fantastic Sir!...💪👍
Omg... production values have gone through the roof. Well done young man. I've lusted after a 351 for a number of years and am determined to have one before I'm planted. Love the channel. You're almost at 200k!
Great video as always and what a spectacular car that is. It’s a great shame that it’s the last of it’s kind. Especially considering the fact that I’ve always preferred the XJ over it’s German rivals. It’s just more special.
Rare... and meant to be. I bought an XJ V6 S/C AWD after an Evoque and F-Pace (same V6) and we as a family love it - long family rides are pure pleasure. Here in the south of Germany i can't tell when i saw another XJ last time. Not a car round each corner. Fully agree on your comments. I think you can also apply the adapted citation from a CarThrottle video (brilliant by the way) about the F-Type: "The best thing about the [XJ] is the way it makes you feel, which is special privileged, excitable but never smug." This car is not shouting "here i am" like many other cars these days with questionable bodywork out of factory. But if you see it standing somewhere or on a driveby, the lines catch your eyes (at least with me). Timeless purely elegant design. Thanks Mr. Callum.
Got urself a videographer and editor now? Production effort and value gone way up Great vid as usual im defo in the camp of love of the design of this series xj i always thought it was a shame didnt sell so well against ze germans
I was waiting for the new XJ to replace my 2016 550bhp XJR only for the XJ to be cancelled, so I went out and bought an S560C. I drove home and decided to keep the XJR, i had waited 6 months for delivery and after i drove the S560C for 30 miles to the house, I was questioning my sanity. 2 years later, I sold the S560C. It was great looking as i also had the matt white color. But! It was too heavy, underpowered and the switchgear layout was a jumbled mess. I still have the XJR and have decided to hang on to it till it breaks. What a shame they canceled it, although they should have still put the V8 into the new one for the US market where I live. Mind the F Pace SVR has the same engine, O may buy that one, but still will keep the XJR.
I’ve been watching this Channel for about a year and a bit now and I can’t wait every week or day for the new videos. This new production helps to bring Matts vision to life. However I would still just be as entertained and interested to watch each video without the exciting production transitions and edits. Thanks Matt for bringing us videos like this!
I owned a 2004 black xjr, of the 25 plus cars I've owned in my life she was the one i loved most. i'm now in the market for one of the last models, there is a 1 of 300 last year one for sale in California that is a bit out of my price range but many v8 xj's are available for bargain prices. i will now consider life time ownership. simply the best sedan on earth.
Hello Mat 🙂 I've got to say your videos are getting better and better. Just watchiing some of older videos you're going from strength to strength. Keep them coming 👍
Definitely a touch of Clarkson like comments and delivery in this excellent video. Top Gear has influenced so many spin offs. I think this channel is the best out there and wouldn’t be surprised to see Matt on TV soon…nice work 👍
Matt I can't stop smiling when I watch your videos now, you put all other car channels and TV programs to shame, you are a genuine guy and that's what sets you far apart from the others, thank you and keep up the amazing work..😁
Having owning this exact car but in a 2016 plate, I agree with everything said. The car is stellar, and do agree Jaguar should have kept up with the flagship XJ, even if it meant releasing the electric version. Surely they couldv'e made a hybrid of it too, but Jaguar do have a rep of making stupid decisions. They act like a rebellious teen on their period sometimes. I did have a woeful of issues initially from my XJ. Dodgy breather pipe which kept flagging a DPF warning, interior squeeks, and engine management light flagging up every month. The engine management one was the worst of them all, as i lost all hope with the car, but it seems like it was a common issue, every 30-50k on the facelift XJ, relating to the throttle body. Since replacing the breather pipe, and the throttle body, the car has been a dream. About the ride, if you put michellin pilots on this, the car feels worlds apart. The XJ was fitted with P Zeros from factory which are actually quite firm for the vehicle. You trully havent got the best ride out of your XJ till you changed the tyres to Michellin Pilots.
Such a pleasant video, and I fully agree with everything you say. I am a huge Jaguar fan and this model is pretty much perfection. Looks great, drives almost like a sportscar, super comfortable, and has a ridiculously pretty cabin. And whether you like the X351 or not, one thing is for sure: there is no other model quite like it!
Matt I’ve been a long term subscriber and must they video editing and quality his come a long now. You’re now on par if not better than multi million pound backed Tv shows. Looking forward to seeing where this channel goes
The editing on these videos keeps getting better and better! Love the car too, it’s the 2022 Range Rover alternative while fuel prices are ridiculously high! Just wish like all luxury barges (with the exception of the Panamera), they sold a hatch back derivative, far more practical than a saloon!
Wow, your videos have always had quality content but now you've got the production values to match, this as high quality as anything you can find on a car channel here on youtube. Only trouble is I've been looking at XFs for the last week...now you've gone and put the big cat in my head! Think I'd be sporting a big grin either way!
Great video. I agree with all you say. It is the most beautiful saloon ever to my eyes.... I do not know who Stormzy is or remember rationing (that made me laugh) but have had my champagne (Quartzite) with ivory leather & burr walnut Portfolio 3.0 diesel for 5 months now.. Done 5k miles, averaged 50mpg & every trip is an absolute pleasure. A joy to look at, sit in & to drive. I always said if a car makes you smile when you're stuck in traffic that's worth a few bob... & this Jaguar does it for me.
That's WAAAAAAAAAY better than the BMW 7 series! I would have really liked to purchase one, but in the end I'm opting for a BMW 5 series GT 245 HP Diesel because I heard the diesel engines for the XJ are not properly reliable and, most of all, here in Italy there's an absurd extra road tax for vehicles over 250 HP!!! 😞
Hi matt, top quality video again so well done. im 6 months into a 2014 jaguar XF-R and i have to say its the best car ive ever owned, that supercharged v8 is glorious. we have just done around 800 miles in it last week around cornwall and it didnt miss a beat, it had the low down grunt to get up the steep hills and was comfy to sit in whilst it did it. ok it cost me around £900,000,000 in super unleaded but i couldnt care less (to be fair i averaged 27.6mpg) which for a big saloon with a v8 i didnt think was too bad, people warned me off jaguar saying they are unreliable etc etc but its just not the case, the car feels solid, didnt use a drop of oil or water and has given me 0 issues. keep up the good work buddy
We had an unmarked one on demo in the Police. The R sport 3.0 diesel. Covert lights the whole bit. Only had it for a couple of weeks. Fantastic motorway patrol car. Speeding motorists, drivers on the phone just didnt spot it until it was too late. A book of 10 Fixed penalty notices easily achievable in a 12 hour shift. Some senior officers saw it and didnt like the fact we had it. They thought it sent out the wrong message ! They seemed to forget or just didnt know that the Police used Jags for many years historically. 🚔🚓
I was one of the early subscribers to this channel and so glad it has gotten so big. Long may you prosper. Love the content, which is accessible to those who know a lot about cars and those who don't.
Great video!!!!! Still love the old ones more. Sorry, but I don't think this design will age well while cheap and old X-type still looks great to me from the outside. I think they went a bit too far and made a generic design in an otherwise great car.
and no issues with engine at all? heard this is land rover engine ,TATA motors made in india, all jags been made in india anyway ,I cannot trust so much, but what I seen many of range rovers sport with 3.0TD v6 engines are mega crap and have many issues with engines+ you have to pay extreme a lot for a parts
I would like to congratulate Matt, in my opinion the best and most professional video review to date, simply couldn’t fault it, well done you have now set a very high bar.
Hi Matt, I’ve been watching your videos and following you on youtube for quite some time now, and I’ve always enjoyed your channel. I’ve been very happy to see your channel grow and your videos improve over time, but this is the first time I’ve commented. Having watched this video, especially compared to your initial stuff, I think you’ve come from the equivalent of an exhaust noise of 3 to the full 11. In other words, this video was a complete game changer, particularly when the second camera man was introduced. This video puts me in mind of Drivetribe and The Grand Tour, and honestly, that’s as high of a praise I can give. Hopefully, fellow watchers here will agree. Thank you and keep up the good youtube work Matt.
I treated myself to an XE last April. Wanted a facelift XF until I saw Matt's video on the XE. Your dead right Matt, all these modern Callum designed Jag saloons are ageless, I am an old codger but young or old we all swap notes on our Jaguars. I always thought "Stormzy" was something that happened after a hot spell. Thanks Matt,👍
Hi, thanks for your videos and I really enjoy them. I also have a Jaguar XJ 16MY and I work for JLR. The reason we’ve stopped building this model is due to the volume of XJs sold comparing to its rivals. We didn’t make much profit to and had to cancel the electric XJ project. We simply don’t sell much saloon cars. But hey ! You never know, it may come back again like the Defender did.
Thanks for the info! I am also looking for a XJ 16reg at the moment and I saw some horror stories about oil dilution and very frequent DPF issues. This kind of put me off a little bit tbh. 🤔 It would be interesting to hear your opinion since you own one and also work for JLR 🙂 Thanks in advance!
@@michakurowski2348 My wife would certainly kill me, if I would. She loves small cars. She would be happy, if I bought her an Aston Martin Cygnet, but a 5+ meter Jag Flagship-model - oh no no no... Our current compromise is a BMW 1-series convertible, which I love very much, too.
After watching your review of the jaguar xf I took the plunge and bought a 2013 3.0 v6 deisel face-lift model fully loaded and wow what a car Thanks for your reviews 👍
Brilliant as always I bought a xf after watching your video and it’s great , I now wouldn’t buy a car without watching your reviews they are that good thank you
Some great camera shots in this really concise take on the XJ. Especially loved your back seat look. Nice to see someone excited about cars. Seems so rare today. Most folks are just A-to B owners. Anyway thanks for the review.
Well, another great video, so thanks. I actually work alongside JLR out of their Fen End (Warwickshire) site. The next time I'm there, I'll ask someone why the XJ has been pulled, although to my astonishment, I saw a 72 plate XJL sat there only last week. I was told it was a 'mule' vehicle testing new tech for other models, but still great to see a 'new' one. I'll get back to you and comment on this once I have an answer. Until then, please keep the videos coming, they're all very enjoyable, I especially like the "I bought a cheap......" series.
Great video. Others have said it, but the attention to detail in the production makes it a pleasure to watch. Insightful comments, gorgeous photography, great subtle humour. Thanks!
The 3.0L V6 is a great engine. Fast enough if you're in a hurry but economical if you aren't hurrying. Later ones are better re: crank issues. The XJ was designed as a driver's car, so not so good for riding in the back. The replacement was the electric one which got cancelled last year, just as it was about to launch.
Thanks for your comment! Regarding the later ones (2016- onwards), as you mentioned, 3.0 TDV6 300PS; I heard horror stories about very frequent oil dilution from active DPF regen and although I love the car and am actively looking to get one, that put me off a little bit. What's your opinion on that? Thanks in advance 🙂
Love these videos, I bought a 2009 Jaguar XJ on the strength of one of your videos and have not regretted it. A joy to look at and to drive. Might be tempted to get one of these next, fantastic production in this video. Keep up the good work please, your videos, delivery, humour and knowledge is fantastic.
Now I know why the guys on top gear packed up ! With content like this with the great skits at the French built cars and pretty much everything else with slick editing , this has become the show topgear should have become . Great content Matt 👍
My dad just bought one a few months ago and hasn't regretted it! Its sublime in comfort and performance with the balance of fuel economy of the diesel. Its even nicer that you don't see an awful lot of Xj's unlike the many S classes and 7 series you see. Fantastic car and quintessentially a "Jaaaaaaag"
Great review. Had two of these, a 2010 3.0 Diesel I had for 3 years then a 2013 Portfolio which I have had for another 3 years. As someone who has had over 100 vehicles I know what you mean about losing the feel good factor. 6 years on and it still excites me to drive it. I supplement this with an XJS, similar to the one you reviewed - two top class Jaguars. Thanks I enjoyed watching.
Is it a huge difference between those two cars?2010 compare to 2013?Better comfort, steering?I know the data.I see the visual diffrences as changed lamps, multimedia systems but I asking about feeling which come from driving experiences.Thank U in advance.
Even though there are other comments, I can't help but mention, production quality has gone through the roof, congratulations man! I don't aspire to be a UA-camr nor a car dealer however your work ethic serves as an inspiration.
I had two 4.0 X300's over a 10 year period starting about 1999, a straight 6 and a V8, and I loved them. I wasn't sure about this shape when it first came out, but I like it now. They are great cars. I'd love another one. The trouble is, there are so many great cars, I'd need a drive the size of a field to park them all, so I just watch this channel instead! I should have been a car dealer. I knew it. Damn.
Matt, your videos are going to another level.... I mean, the name of the Jaguar XJ "painted" in the middle of the street, common, that's art mate!!! Nice upgrade, keep going Matt, sky is the limit!
Excellent video as always. I used to have a 2011 xj and it was the best car I owned until I wrote it off on the motorway. So now I've bought a 2016 one and it's even better. You just can't beat the big cat for its looks, interior and spec and It puts a smile on my face everytime I drive it.
Unexpected Fred West gag, well done sir. I drive an XE because work and I do a lot of miles so need the MPG, but the XJ is the dream on the next promotion
Love my 2011 XJ Supersport. Had it 3 years and still love getting in it everyday. 120000 miles, no issues other than not being able to close doors on a cold day lol.

I don't own one, but having driven cars with and without reverse cameras, I'd say the XJ with a reverse camera is easy to park.
I loved it when it came out, 12 years later the design is still SPOT ON.
The beginning feels like a Jaguar commercial. Very nice filming and editing in this one 🔥

Had my XJ for 4 years, and can't even think of getting rid of it! Every time I drive it, its impressive, unique and stylish.
Oh Mattie boy, this is one your best. Both the car presented and video. The city shots do greater justice to the looks of the car than peak district.
Must confess I would take this over a Range Rover. Would be a tight squeeze in my local multi-storey though.
Got me through hospital ( was in a coma after Covid and spent 4+ months in hospital)
Best downtime ever.
Wow!!! Production quality has skyrocketed!
This is honestly the best car review channel on the internet, you deserve to Be getting any inventory you want to film with
Thank you
My XJ is an absolute bargain to keep on the road compared to my friend's Maserati Quatroporte.
Well done, had work pays off
What a car!!!!! Absolutely stunning!!!! Nothing else can touch it for looks!!!! I currently drive and XF but definitely need an XJ in my life!!!!
Jaguar really start to resemble the final years of SAAB
Well its because they are broke
@@jonathangwynne1917 I may be wrong, but wasn’t it under Ford ownership that made the decision on the X type?
Can only say Matt you've done a perfect video on my favourite car!....I have the pleasure of driving various 'barges' as part of my job, but instantly fell for the XJ, so thanks for confirming my choice is the right one!
Fantastic Sir!...💪👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Omg... production values have gone through the roof.
Why what's happening to the XJ ?
It finished production two years ago, and the new XJ has been cancelled. No more XJ’s.
XJ and QP is best!
@@Hattonbank I hope in 2025 we will meet with the new XJ ev.
Rare... and meant to be.
Production effort and value gone way up
Great vid as usual im defo in the camp of love of the design of this series xj i always thought it was a shame didnt sell so well against ze germans
I bought a 2013 xj portfolio 3.0d a few months ago and couldn’t be happier with it, such a special car
They’re great cars
There is no denying that is true;)
I have bought one recenty too.
I'd have this over a 7 series, S class or an A8 in a heartbeat!
I prefer the s class tbh
Of those 4 the jag is a solid 4th position, a car for the pensioner at the golf club
@@Storm.Z.4u yeah, maybe the xj of old but I don't agree with this model. It does look amazing, you have to admit that.
@@Storm.Z.4u tbh, I find the design of the s class and 7 series pretty anondine and bland. The jag stands out a lot more imo.
I only ever watch this guys reviews. He is knowledgeable, interesting, engaging and his reviews are honest. Top quality.
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words
Thank you! I appreciate it
I owned a 2004 black xjr, of the 25 plus cars I've owned in my life she was the one i loved most. i'm now in the market for one of the last models, there is a 1 of 300 last year one for sale in California that is a bit out of my price range but many v8 xj's are available for bargain prices. i will now consider life time ownership. simply the best sedan on earth.
Hello Mat 🙂 I've got to say your videos are getting better and better. Just watchiing some of older videos you're going from strength to strength. Keep them coming 👍
I've had mine for nearly 5 years and no problems... its got 158k on the clock. Still turns heads. Love it
Definitely a touch of Clarkson like comments and delivery in this excellent video. Top Gear has influenced so many spin offs. I think this channel is the best out there and wouldn’t be surprised to see Matt on TV soon…nice work 👍
Thanks!
Matt I can't stop smiling when I watch your videos now, you put all other car channels and TV programs to shame, you are a genuine guy and that's what sets you far apart from the others, thank you and keep up the amazing work..😁
Thanks
And whether you like the X351 or not, one thing is for sure: there is no other model quite like it!
this channel is becoming a work of art
Haha thanks!
Matt I’ve been a long term subscriber and must they video editing and quality his come a long now. You’re now on par if not better than multi million pound backed Tv shows. Looking forward to seeing where this channel goes
Thanks!
The editing on these videos keeps getting better and better! Love the car too, it’s the 2022 Range Rover alternative while fuel prices are ridiculously high! Just wish like all luxury barges (with the exception of the Panamera), they sold a hatch back derivative, far more practical than a saloon!
There are a range of Grande Coupes from BMW that are hatchbacks
Wow, your videos have always had quality content but now you've got the production values to match, this as high quality as anything you can find on a car channel here on youtube. Only trouble is I've been looking at XFs for the last week...now you've gone and put the big cat in my head! Think I'd be sporting a big grin either way!
Oh yes, yes yes yes. Been excited and waiting for this one! Love the XJ 🤤
😍I absolutely love these XJ's but what stops me buying is the size of the thing and parking bays simply not long enough 😀
This channel is so refreshing. Great choice of cars and witty dialogue from someone who knows his stuff. Brilliant.
You have a road tax based on bhp?!?! How does that work?
Wow, amazing intro! 👍
We do not enjoy the sex worker comment however
Fantastic, loved this review, comments like 'As reliable as a politician's promise' were brilliant! Class!
Great production and great car 🤘😎🤘
Lol you watch these too Wayne! RnR!
Brilliant review of a stunning car. Loved the Fred West joke too 😂. Keep up the great work 👍.
Just bought a 2013 diesel xj on Saturday. It’s already my favourite and best car I’ve ever had. Absolutely love it.
and no issues with engine at all? heard this is land rover engine ,TATA motors made in india, all jags been made in india anyway ,I cannot trust so much, but what I seen many of range rovers sport with 3.0TD v6 engines are mega crap and have many issues with engines+ you have to pay extreme a lot for a parts
really stepping up that production game buddy, very nice work
The production quality of this video is a step above your norm. Amazing.
I immediately know how much you love this car based on how much fun you clearly had making this video
Quite right
I would like to congratulate Matt, in my opinion the best and most professional video review to date, simply couldn’t fault it, well done you have now set a very high bar.
Hi Matt,
I’ve been watching your videos and following you on youtube for quite some time now, and I’ve always enjoyed your channel.
Thank you!
Very, very slick video Matt.. Love it. I seriously considered an XJ a while back before buying my M-B CLS Shooting-brake
This is my dream car, since I have seen it for the very first time. So luxuriously beautiful...
Let the dream come true.
I've done it!Outstanding car in my humble opinion.
After watching your review of the jaguar xf I took the plunge and bought a 2013 3.0 v6 deisel face-lift model fully loaded and wow what a car
Thanks for your reviews 👍
Brilliant as always I bought a xf after watching your video and it’s great , I now wouldn’t buy a car without watching your reviews they are that good thank you
Some great camera shots in this really concise take on the XJ. Especially loved your back seat look. Nice to see someone excited about cars. Seems so rare today. Most folks are just A-to B owners. Anyway thanks for the review.
Really honest yet complimentary review. I really like my xfs sportbrake but i loved my '98 xjr!
I absolutely love the effect of the car model appearing on the road as you drive over it!
I remember watching this channel hit 100,000 subscribers and it won’t be long before it deservedly hit 200,000… keep up the great work!
Thanks! Coming soon
Thanks!
Much appreciated!
Your presentation is absolutely full of character, you’re one bloody amazing storyteller
I've been watching your videos for a while and i can say with surerity that your production value for this video was something else!
Thank you
Now I know why the guys on top gear packed up ! With content like this with the great skits at the French built cars and pretty much everything else with slick editing , this has become the show topgear should have become .
Great content Matt 👍
Oh wow, thank you
My dad just bought one a few months ago and hasn't regretted it! Its sublime in comfort and performance with the balance of fuel economy of the diesel. Its even nicer that you don't see an awful lot of Xj's unlike the many S classes and 7 series you see. Fantastic car and quintessentially a "Jaaaaaaag"
Just got a 2013 3.0 d portfolio, what a car. Amazing ride, so good inside. I love it.
Thanks!
I knew it. Damn.
Not only the usual great review but I feel the editing and production has been turned up a notch. A cameraman and very well done transitions.
Matt, your videos are going to another level.... I mean, the name of the Jaguar XJ "painted" in the middle of the street, common, that's art mate!!! Nice upgrade, keep going Matt, sky is the limit!
I had to be very careful painting that on the road without being knocked down 😂
@@HighPeakAutos ahahahhaha
Yeah he is right, I am a car dealer and I have a 65plate premium luxury in stock, and when I drive it, I have the same feeling. I love the big Jag
That was my dream car and finaly I've bought one recently.Black portfolio '11 with London tan interior. It's great!Previously I had an Audi A5 sportback. There is no compere with JAG.I'm absolutely delighted to own one!
