Saying GOODBYE! My LAST Ever Shoot With The Fujifilm XF 55-200mm

- It's finally time to say goodbye to my beloved Fujifilm XF 55-200mm Telephoto lens. This will be my final ever shot with this fantastic lens!
The Fujifilm XF 55-200mm is an almost perfect landscape photography lens that every travel and landscape photographer should have in their arsenal.
Since owning the lens since early 2018, the 55-200mm was an intelligent alternative for photographers who didn't get strung up and fall for the "must-have" red badge option. Quality to price ratio, the 55-200mm stacked up well compared to the 50-140mm in terms of image quality.
Throughout my work on UA-cam, you can see why I love this lens so much, but it's time to move on!

Fantastic video as always, some beautiful images, your channel deserves so much more attention, thank you for sharing all this with us.
Thank you so much 😀
Just discovered your channel. Looking forward to our beautiful Country and an Aussie photographer.
Awesome, thank you!
The depth in the montage was stunning! The two you showed as your favorites of the trip would be my picks also. And you have to be happy with that "final" shot!
Thank You! :)
One of the best channels for fujifilm users, thank you!
Sold my 55-200 and 100-400 for the 70-300 with 1.4x TC. Never looked back it’s so sharp! Also own the 50-140 which is stunning, but use the 70-300 more due to the extra focal length. Also considering adding the Tamron 18-300.
Very interesting, I am going through this entire dilemma now, will take this into consideration thank you
Wow! That is one fantastic ridge in the morning sun. I’d say the drone shot is right up there with your better images. Can’t wait to see what you do next.
Thanks so much mate I would have to agree, it was just perfect location, lighting and timing. Thats really all photography is I think...
Interested to hear what telephoto lens you choose … 50-140, 70-300, or 100-400? I have the 55-200 and it very good from 55-150 …. But a bit soft at the long end …. And I’d like something longer ….. may go for the 70-300 but the 55-70mm range gets a bit of use as I normally just pair it with the 10-24 for landscapes
Nice video 👍 I need a zoom to complete my 18 55 and I wonder if the 55 200 would be good enough or if the 70 300 is better (street photo, family scenes).
I'm not sure that 70mm is short enough for my needs 🤔
Hi! What did you end up getting? Im in the same situration as you
I believe in you Matthew! Great images, you should really be proud. Now while I haven't sold my 55-200, it has taken a backseat to the 50-140. Can't wait to see which lens you step up to next.
Interesting, you prefer the 50-140 over the 55-200? Even though the size and weight and less focal range?
the landscape shot for your personal memorie its the best of the serie, my choice cut in in 3 and make tree frames for a big panorama landscape on the wall.
Yeah actually that would look pretty killer actually
are you going to buy the70-300 ??
Yes, already got it. Testing it out now
@@matthewstorerphotography I've got the 2x converter on my 70-300 and it reaches for days! Some have noted that it's not the best with the 2x, but you can't beat the size/weight combo. I did have the 50-140, however it was always a burden to carry and didn't have the reach I wanted with the 2x. Hope you're enjoying your new lens mate!
You've had a good innings with that lens Matt and whilst its sad to see the end of your road trip as the images, the b-roll and the drone images and video were awesome, it means the next adventure is hopefully not too far away. Hope you get fixed up with a job and you also get the time for photography too
Thanks 👍
Epic scenery Matthew. So now the 55-200 has gone, what are you going to purchase? I would like to buy the XF 70-300mm but it is still on pre-order or sold out here in the UK! So frustrating!
Thank you! I have picked up a cheap 100-400 and also a new 70-300. Will see what i prefer, think the 70-300 is ideal for my needs
Interested to know what the replacement you ended up getting
outstanding pano shot brother. You encourage alot of us out here. keep it up
Thanks so much Kevin, really appreciate that!
Great stuff Matt, the Master still has it.
Regards Rob
hahah dont know about that. Where is he? hahaa Thank You! :)
I’m looking at the xf 70-300 or Tamron 18-300. Tamron is very tempting, but aperture is the main reason for concern.
Yeah its a good 1 and done lens, but would worry about sharpness throughout the entire focal range. Testing the 70-300 its sharp!
Love your channel it’s amazing
Thank you so much!
Nice lens bro...I am a huge fan of telephoto lens..i like it..i planing to buy a camera..i think i will🙂✌️.. beautiful place ... 6:53 beautiful click

Hey Matt. Where is the link to your favorite 55-200mm images? i'm tossing up whether to go with this lens - or the 70-300mm. You are so inspirational. Cheers. Hamish, New Zealand :)
G'day friend from across the ditch. The images should be via my blog - www.matthewstorerphotography.com/blog/post/top-10-landscape-photography-images-fujifilm-xf-55-200

When you said we went and got it by watching your videos, you left.. :)
I did, everything was happening hahah!
lol IDK about using an item you've already sold lol! as soon as the transaction cleared, you should wrap it up!
Dinosaur era to end 😅
haha Thank You! :)
Just curious...if it is a fantastic lens, why would you want to part with it?
Great question David, unfortunely our minds always think we need something else to become better. I personally think the 70-300mm is a better lens suited to my type of photography. So will give that a go, however, there is NOTHING wrong with this great lens!
55-200 is a 55-135. After that its soooooohft.
If this lens is so superlative and “nearly perfect”, why are you getting rid of it?
Because like everything in the world, better things get developed that suits your needs better
You will regret it.
People are willing so spend $950 on a lens that will go in a 24MP camera. What are they printing? Billboards? I believe that the cheaper 55-200 is perfect and half the price. You can easily crop the difference and will look my just as amazing. Millimeters past 150 become less and less and it’s not a big just as you think. It’s not like going from 12 to 20mm where the the difference is huge or 35 to 60.
I understand where you are coming from, but it totally depends what you are doing with the lens, yes if you are doing. Wildlife photography or landscape yes you can crop in a little and still have so much wiggle room. But filming the extra reach is a huge benefit!
