I used to avoid the Sods because of the crowds but the more I see of your videos the more I think I'm being shortsighted. Or maybe it's just the adult beverage. LOL. I guess you have to pick the right time of year to avoid the crowds. I will plan accordingly. Great hike!

Nice! I have camped in both the spruces and at the campsite just above the crossing of Red Creek. The crossing of dobbin Grade and the right fork have become an issue for a short girl like me. It used to be easy, but is now above my waist. It is amazing how beavers can totally change the landscape. I have not crossed there for the past 2 years. Dobbin Grade is actually one of my favorite trails. It is hard to beat the scenery! There used to be a trail shelter off of Beaver View trail. I stayed there quite a few times. It was torn down after the north part became wilderness, and you can't even find the side trail anymore. There was also a trail shelter up on Rocky Ridge/aka Cabin Mountain. I never saw it intact, but did see lights from people staying there. It was also torn down. I was on the Raven ridge/Bear rocks unofficial trail connector on my last trip up there. For years, I thought that it was Bear Rocks Trail, since it was the path most taken. I don't blame you about the tarps. I would be afraid of finding a body or what was left of a body. Thank you for sharing your trip! Might see you up that way one day. You never know.
