I was thinking of the transition in your life from when I first started watching your channel. You were alone and depressed to now with a beautiful family and a new job and the AT conquered
Hey frozen, I wanted to say how awesome it is that you treat her like your own. She genuinely looks very happy to be around you. It takes a special man to be able to do that. I applaud you my friend!
Hey Frozen, That was the best video you have done since your AT videos. More of these with Scarlet would be great. She is a trooper and you a great mentor.
Been watching your videos for years, this is the best one so far! She will NEVER forget this trip. She’s a rockstar for only being 7, you sir have got yourself a new hiking partner. Good luck getting out and leaving her home after this 😂 The random hug summed up all that you mean to her and how much this trip will stay with you both, you’re a great dad! This would be a great direction for your channel in the future in addition to your usual content I think. Just make sure to stay in shape, a few short years and that kid will be smokin you on the climbs 😝
This was an awesome Father and Daughter outdoor video. Well done teaching her backpacking at an early age. She will forever be grateful in her adult years.
Makes me so happy to see how you've embraced your new role as father. What a great example you can be to Scarlett and your baby and what great things you'll share with them as you all grow together. God bless!!
She is just so cuuuutttteee! I just about lost it when I saw her trekking poles. One of the rare instances of me getting baby fever 😄 I hope she really continues to love hiking as she gets older
I been watching your channel for 8 years. I agree with the other commenters; this is the best video you’ve ever made. Your stepdaughter is a rock star.
Frozen based on the number of comments this trip connected with a lot of people. Kudos to you for setting a great example and having a fun experience together. Can’t wait til my son agrees to go hike in the woods with dad.
Couldn't help but keep smiling during this one, Frozen! So cool to see you sharing your love of the trail with the young ones, and looks like you made a backpacker out of Scarlet for life!! Awesome video as usual, man!
An average 13 miles a day at the age of reason! Strongest little legs in the land! Most excellent she wears hiking boots everywhere. Someone earned a Smiley Cookie from Eat N Park. Welcome back Jason with a great soundtrack. Yes, the homemade nighttime transition tune made an appearance!
Clearly this is your PCT 2023 partner!!! She’s awesome, you’re awesome!! Good stuff man!! Good to see ya back out there!! Again, Congratulations on the new little one and thank your high power for putting this cool kid who loves backpacking in your life!! NQU
I watched every episode of your AT journey, followed Dixie's triple crown, and countless other backpacking youtubers meanderings - and this is my favorite backpacking video of all time. I've raised my two boys (30 and 22) so that they have a love of the outdoors and you, young man, are doing it right! Love it! Congrats on the new baby and god bless! By the way, Scarlet is an absolute trooper!
Scarlet is a real trooper. She’ll develop into a great backpacker with your guidance. This video will be a good influence for other young want-to-bes out there. Well done Frozen! 🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️🇺🇸👊🏻
Not only is it awesome seeing you on trail again...even better in the Dad role. Congratulations on the new addition and winning at life brother. Really happy for you!
Good to see you back on trail, great to see you back in my neck of the woods, and even better seeing you out with your Step-Daughter.....she'll never forget it!
This is the most adorable video! What an impressive youngster! She reminds me of my daughter at that age. If she made up her mind to do something, nothing would stop her. It’s an inspiring trip! Amazing picture on lions head!!
Awesome video! I look forward to seeing some more of these kind of videos. My daughter Citori is now 18 years old. She was over this past weekend. When I mentioned I would like to go camp out she almost did not take to to respond before starting packing. She did not care where. We stayed at a local horse camp out in the middle of he Davy Crockett National Forest. Oil pump jacks could be heard a mile away. A few folks come very early in the morning with horse trailers to ride the horse trails. The temp was down to 61 F for the night. Oh man what a great time we had to just get out, cook out, sleep out in God's great outdoors. Looking forward to seeing a video of all of you our for a trip soon.... yeap.. the little one too. Gary - AKA PossumBuck....
Nice Job Frozen! Is it your normal video -no, but that’s fine. Life happens, we grow, and you are being a great step Dad. Those lone peaks don’t have much cushioning. Scarlet might need a more substantial insert to cushion the rocks. Loved seeing her smiles! I wish I could have gotten my girls to go camping with me like that. Scarlett looked like a fairy princess perched inside of the royal purple hammock strung between the trees. 🧝♀️
Good morning! That's quite impressive at how well Scarlett she did on that hike. It looks like you have a hiking partner and adventure seeker to join you. Nice hike and beautiful views. Thanks for sharing
It was very cool to see you and Scarlet enjoying a camping trip. She was great hiking all those miles. I was totally surprised to see you on the ground and Scarlet in the hammock! Thanks for sharing!
Love this! I went backpacking with my dad & brothers for the first time when I was about her age. Set me up to be confident enough to do it solo now as an adult.
Great video! I grew up not far from the Sods and it’s where I began backpacking in the 70s. Back then there was no one up there. It was wonderful back then.
I loved this little video! I know DSW like the back of my hand. Scarlett showed true backpacker temperament and she is a trooper! Thank you for sharing. Keep exploring!!
Oh my goodness!!! What a special video! Scarlet you did awesome! Sooo proud of you. Jason, you did a wonderful job of teaching her how to navigate the trail. You're becoming a great dad! Scarlet, you are amazing!!! Love you💜
She did really well! I'm taking my 6 year old to world's end state park to section a part of the loyalsock trail this weekend. Can't wait especially with all the rain we just got
23 miles over a 3 day/2 night stretch for a 7 year old? It would be quite a bit even for Scouts (12 years old and up). Her determination to finish is admirable. Thank God, Scarlet eats well. Foods power her to hike strong. And no food waste to carry out. She gives you a hug too. Sweet. Precious. Enjoy your fatherhood with two kids.
Awesome to see you out on an adventure again! Your hiking buddy is quite impressive, that was a lot of miles! She should be very proud of herself! Love seeing kids embrace the outdoors!
Scarlet is a boss when it comes to rock hopping! I saw nothing but smiles on her face. Really big smiles on your face too, Jason. What an awesome and special trip for you two! Not sure which one of you enjoyed it more. I'm sure she will never forget this one. Definitely an awesome video! Thanks for bringing us along on this one!
4 stars ! So wonderful to see this. My Grandkids won't get off their phones long enough to hike 5 miles with me. You are doing a great job ! Many blessings !
Love seeing the kiddo get out there with you, personally I like this better than the hardcore trekking. Shows a different side of you and I can tell you are a great dad. Keep it up Captain Frozen Pants!
I did the same trip this past weekend with my 9yo son and dad. We stayed at Bear Rocks Friday night, and were on the trail about 7:15am. Missed you by 45 minutes. It was an awesome trip for us, and looks like you had a great one too.
Loved the video. Such a great family. Scarlett is a charming young lady. I liked hearing her trekking poles click on all the rocks. I’ve seen you hike w/ your dad (forgot his trail name),your wife (Bright Side) & Scarlett. Can’t wait for your hike w/ the baby in a carrier pack.
Good to see you again! Loved this video. Scarlett is a fantastic backpacker and I hope you will teach her everything you know! You did a great job planning a kid-friendly backpacking trip and I hope to see more of Scarlett in the future!
Great video! At the 15:15 mark when you’re laying down. The big tree out in the field behind you. If you go in behind that tree there is a very nice secluded campsite for future reference.
I don't know how I missed this one when it first came out but, thankfully, it came up in my suggested videos today. I can't believe you subjected that poor child to Dobbins Grade. In my two visits to the Sods, I hiked PAST it. When in my research about the place, I saw Bryce Newbold up to his knees in mud, I knew it wasn't a place I cared to explore. Kudos to you for taking Scarlett on such an adventure. Her closing statement to find time to go on your own adventure was just too precious. Hope to see you, or both of you, on the trail someday.
Good on you sir! This is my favorite video of yours, maybe its fatherhood or the less intense trip but you seem more relaxed in this video (which I prefer). 13 miles a day? She's rocking it! I'm trying to get up to 10 miles myself (52 years old / overweight / bad knee) so I'm jealous. I always say, when camping with kids or ladies, make it fun and comfortable and you did both, bravo. I honestly smiled the whole way thru, both of you had big grins at the end! And congrats on the baby, hope your wife is doing well
As a father and an avid Backpacker, it's awesome to see this side of you. I'm so excited for the moment i get to spend time in the woods with my babies!
Very cool! I need to get my grandson out there. He's 10 and has lived with us since he was 1. We've been camping many times but my wife isn't much into hiking so you know how that goes.
Good for Scarlet, Great for You! (I would take my daughter backpacking when she was younger and we still talk about it). BTW, it's called string cheese and that is how you're suppose to eat it old man! :)
What an awesome video! Love you getting the kids involved. She did great. I have a feeling she's going to want to go a lot more with you...step aside Gary 🤣
Congrats on the new baby. Your wife is a saint for letting you go backpacking during this time. The lil one is a sweetheart. I miss when my daughter was that age. (She's getting her drivers permit soon.) It's definitely good quality time together in the outdoors.
Awesome trip with an awesome partner! By the time she’s in high school, she’ll be talking about thru-hiking the AT. Maybe on your next trip together, you can take her down to Grayson Highlands and let her see the ponies. I’m sure that she would really enjoy that. God bless you and Scarlet!
Looks like you’ve got a future triple crowner on your hands there. It always makes my day when I get that notification of a new Outdoor Adventures. Us native Pennsylvanyinz gotta hold it down. It’s a bit early but, LETS GO PENS!
Awesome trip for you both. She'll remember this forever. I started my daughter on overnights when she was 10. She's almost 13 now and leaves me in the dust. We're doing the West Rim together in October this year and hopefully at least one more before the snow hits. Hope I bump into you guys some day out on the PA trails.
Scarlett is ADORABLE ! She is an amazing 7 yr old .
This warms my heart so much💝
Super impressed with Scarlet! Wow! Only SEVEN??? Holy moly, keep rockin’ it girl!
I was thinking of the transition in your life from when I first started watching your channel. You were alone and depressed to now with a beautiful family and a new job and the AT conquered
❤ this video is everything a woman without a father needed to see! Heck yeah keep on trekking.
Awesome video! I hope we have a new backpacker for life.
It's so important to take kids camping and hiking. It gives them an appreciation for the outdoors.
My girl is a rockstar!!
She did better with the rocks there than I did. She did awesome.
@@smidgen65 the rocks can be a real killer on the feet!
She did great! 💪 We will all meet up again someday. I still haven't done an actual hike with Jason.
@@uptrail7169 we'd love to meet up again!
Hey frozen, I wanted to say how awesome it is that you treat her like your own. She genuinely looks very happy to be around you. It takes a special man to be able to do that. I applaud you my friend!
agreed!
Amen!
That little woman did fantastic! I'm impressed. Way to go.
You and Scarlett are so fortunate to have each other as backpacking partners. She totally rocked it!
Hey Frozen, That was the best video you have done since your AT videos. More of these with Scarlet would be great. She is a trooper and you a great mentor.

I will tell you I am a fan of your channel but this is one of the best histories you have ever produced
She is adorable! She totally rocked it!

Nicely done Frozen…!
My wife and I loved this episode and loved watching you share your love of nature with your step daughter!
Couldn't help but keep smiling during this one, Frozen! So cool to see you sharing your love of the trail with the young ones, and looks like you made a backpacker out of Scarlet for life!! Awesome video as usual, man!
Making Special memories. Thats awesome!
She is awesome it is great to see kids getting out and enjoying the outdoors
She did good :)
What a fantastic trip to take together. Scarlet is amazing. Just love her positive attitude and abilities. Cheese technique- Priceless.
Cheers

Thanks Greg! Hope all is well with the fam!
Your the man. Family first.
Fantastic! Love that Dad Daughter time. Video quality great of course. And imo her trail name should be “Scar”. Scar on Lion’s Head.
Finally got to see the very end. Cmon! Let’s swim this thing!!💪 That’s awesome!
A very tough child...it must be really nice to have a step daughter to go on an adventure with 👍🏻😍
I’d love to see more of the two and four of you out on the trails! Such an inspiration! Love to you and yours

Really nice video. I got to backpack around the Dolly Sods with my brother and some friends in about 1993. Beautiful place and a good memory.
Good job dad!

Good to see you again! Loved this video. Scarlett is a fantastic backpacker and I hope you will teach her everything you know! You did a great job planning a kid-friendly backpacking trip and I hope to see more of Scarlett in the future!
I went there LDW and couldn't believe how many open campsites near the forks. This gives me inspo to take my eight year old

As a dad of two daughters I absolutely loved this. Hopefully mine will be ready for stuff like this in another year or two
I am highly impressed with how she is not attached to a cell phone.
My step son (1 year older) is like that.
As a father and an avid Backpacker, it's awesome to see this side of you. I'm so excited for the moment i get to spend time in the woods with my babies!
