Hi Guys for me living this kind of life its absolutely fine and when i was child i used to live this live when i was visiting my grandparents. I really like here and we will see what will happens next. i am curious also :) but one is sure. i can see simple life in the Philippines living in the province. i can see from inside now how it really looks like and i am enjoy so much. :)

Welcome to Bohol! I miss province life like this, cooking food using firewood. I can relate..We were happy living simply and contented.. For Westerners is a shock but for us that never been to other countries is fine. My husband is a Canadian but he loves Bohol so much. We come home in Lila once a year every September. Anyways, there are few vloggers in Bohol, Beth and Terrence, Bohol is Awesome, Lyn and Anthony. Wish you the best in your new journey with Danica.. I am just excited how you transform Danica and their way of living along the way. I know she has a kind loving family. Have a wonderful province life. Enjoy the nature. There no place in philippines out of a province, that be in the sea zone of philippines sea. And not in philippines any more. Like usa, if i say ik out of the state, im out in the usa sea zone. Or we not in usa any more.
I am moving to provence life in about 2 months
Building our home. But ran out of money as the costs of everything have sky-rocketed. Not a lot to do now. I wish you and Danica great success

Mario, after reading some comments I had to add my two cents, 1st cent: are you comfortable, if yes, move on to the 2nd cent, who's business is it the way you choose to live your life and spend your monies, if the answer is yours, screw what anyone has to say. I am a firm believer in respecting one's lifestyle, like everything else in life, one must adjust and adapt, enjoy you, enjoy your life decisions and if/when it doesn't suit you anymore, move on to your next chapter. Love the countryside, love the easy living, I'm sure you'll uplift their standard of living, job well done....get well soon.

In response to a few comments here...Mario is a guest in the family home of his romantic partner, so it would make some sense to help out a bit with any extra costs his presence is adding to the family, by paying for a portion of the food and utilities. That said, I would love for Mario to share, more privately, his thoughts in general about how guys from first world countries can be required to support entire families of their girlfriends or wives in the Philippines (and in other third world countries).

going thru 12 hr long power outages , Slow or no intrnet,having no hot water, no air con and hearing those rooster crowing all the damn time will wear you down quickly lol
I have the perfect remedy for that roster crowing. Put it in a roasting pan. 🤣

Mario, I want you to be happy. I really do. But man, I don't see this working for very long. Living in a hut in the jungle might be a nice adventure for a few days but I really can't see it lasting for weeks and months and longer. I hope this works out for you. Take care, allright?

Everything will be okay get used to it on spare time go to the mountain terrains hunt some wild pigs they’re tasty careful with the monkeys they’re not friendly
The rooster noise.....they are ( mostly) quiet in the night when its dark. So i suggest you build a small rooster house what You can blind. Than release them in the morning and as soon as they see outside light, they start making their kukelekuuu noise again.

I'm happy that you have found your paradise. Regarding the home in which you are staying, I wonder about small pavers eventually being installed outside the house, starting at the entrance, then going around--- (just a narrow path to the various sections outside to which folks go, such as the toilet and shower, or to get water jugs) that would create more comfort and less mud on the shoes. I had paths installed in my background around islands of plants. The paths don't have to be more than, say, 2.5 feet across. The small pavers can be just 4 inches or so in diameter per paver so they can be easily transported, made of the local rock or concrete obtainable on that island. Of course, sigh, it takes $$$ to do this :). I also agree that reliable internet is important.

Lenses are commonly ruined by humidity. Funguses eat the film on the inside surface of the lens. A watertight container, or even a plastic bag, with desiccant may prevent this. Google this. I don't know how the humidity gets inside the lens.

I lived at a place in my mid 20's that I had to use an outhouse. I fixed it up and I thought it was better than a flushing toilet. No need to worry about clogging, No cleaning the bowl. After I finished doing my thing, I would dump a scoop of lime down there. It was a great setup. It's better than the CR.

Yes I have been camping and I have been to the Philipines. I've also been to Thailand, Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, UAE and Mexico. I live in West Virginia in the country at the moment. I don't know what that has to do with anything, but you ask so I'm telling you.
But let's put it like this. If you don't have windows, running water or electricity you're camping.
The man is already telling us he has to go down to the river to bath and it made him sick. He's a westerner and he's going to get eaten by misquitoes. If he avoids malaria he still might suffer from cellulitous or other tropical ailments he isn't used to.
At a minimun he needs to find a doctor to give him a round of shots for common tropical desease.
My recommendation is he politely says his goodbyes to the family. Finds a room in town with AC, hot water, and good internet. The girlfriend can decide if she wants to be with him or stay with the family out in the Province.

Bro the very first thing you need to do is secure that well more than it is now. 200% I would cover it properly with usable winch/bucket system if using it like you say and also pull the fence down and wall it off then put a fence around the wall to keep the children away from the well walls.

Very basic simplistic life style wich I'm sure is very typical in the Philippines. It is this form of living in wich someone can really feel free. Us westerners are so spoiled with every luxury known to man but we are tethered to our work to support our lifestyle that we never really experience true freedom without stress . I can honestly say that I have been following your channel for quite some time now, and I was always fascinated with your adventures. This however is to adventures for me. I cannot believe that this is what you had in mind when you travelled to the Philippines. Sure, maybe for a day or two, just to see how the locals live, but …. . What are you actually doing there all day ? Without trying to be rude, but maybe you should take a step back and ask yourself where you see yourself in a month or a year from now. Any more rural and you can film some dinosaurs. Even Poland 50 years ago was more developed. No, this can’t be it !
Hi Rocco i really do enjoy staying here in the province and i love it to be honest but i am also a vlogger so it means that living Province in the Philippines will not stop me from traveling around and discover new places :) now its chapter of living in the province. what will be next ? we will see :) but as i can see that can be my base :)
@@daydreamvlogs Hello again Mario. I also live in a small province, Buenavista Bohol and i love it as well. This type of living is not for everyone but for me at this point in my life it's great. I also use it as my home base. My Girlfriend and I travel from here to other places and once our trip is over we return home to the province. I love the simple, quite life here
Well using it as a base allows you to save a lot of money. If things workout with Danica(spelling?) maybe you will build a better house. That is barebones poor province living like more than half of the country lives. Some may not like this lifestyle. I can appreciate it, though it's not for me personally. I would love the laid back province vibe, but I would need more modern accommodations at this point in my life. I expect we will see you go through some things as your body tries to adjust to that environment like: non-refrigerated foods left out, holes in walls with insects, rodents, and mosquitoes having free access to you 24/7, no aircon, and bacteria and organisms while using non potable water to bathe and on your clothes, maybe they drink that river water too, but your body is going to go nuts for quite some time. I hope for the best for you Mario! I just think a lot of your viewers will be shocked as we are mostly Westerners and cannot see ourselves living that way, but I still support your channel and look forward to seeing how you adjust. To me this is more interesting than a vlogger in an expensive townhouse watching a pool being built. Live your life your way, Dreaming each day! Love ya Brother!

Hi Mario I have a suggestion to try and help you with your mud problem around Danica's province home. Buy some cheap large bags of stone chips and spread them on the ground. No more dust or mud. If you can buy the chips in the Philippines.
I would suggest a bulldozer and start over.

That was a very great vlog and worthy to be appreciated... Life in a paradise is simple and stress-free. No monthly bills to pay, no false richness is presented, it is silent, pollution-free, foods are natural not processed, cool and vegetable and chicken or goats or cows could be raised, and soon you will have many of them...
Many expats around 20 here in Brgy. Abuno, Iligan city are living so simple paradisec life... Brgy. Abuno looks like the place of your friend Danica, mountainous and agriculturally good.
You have presented the details of your house, I suggest work-out the security and safety of your expensive gadgets. You can buy a safety box or build a solid concrete reinforced lock room for your items. Someone may interest it by chance...
Secondly, improve the pathways so that it will not be slippery and comfortable to walk around...
Thirdly, water needs and storage be improved. Put gutters around the lower end of the roofing and direct it to a barrel by downspouts. Later, it budget allows use of a water pump to pump the water up from below. You can coordinate it with your neighbors to share the expenses and work and maintenance. Direct it to an elevated water tank, so as to flow by gravity to all.
Lastly, like what I did here at home, plant as many vegetables and fruit trees so that later the family can just pick it around and will have fresh healthy foods on your table. Local native chickens are so easy to raise and they will multiply a lot like what Kulas in Becoming Filipino is doing in Cateel.

Actually, I have seen many do vlog about province life and do very well, hopefully you can do the same. What does a state mean ? It means a area ruled under a governed law area. What dies province mean ? A area governed by a governed law area. It the same as a united states state in all ways. The states are all under 1 governed law called 1 federal governed law of a nation . Same thing of a province, all togeather as 1 federal or national governed law to make 1 nation. Same thing. A province has cities, towns. , branguys, and mountains, and a capital , same as a state a state has cities, towns and counties, and a capital, the same as a province.
