When it comes to placing parts you can hold control and you can place parts as you desire rather than on specific mounting points. This allows for greater funnel placement and can allow for some more guns to be placed. You can also rotate turrets with R which can be useful for placing secondaries.
Those 9.9 inch guns were only 32 calibers length - short barreled - not exactly what you want for long range accuracy, if that's what you're aiming for with the cage masts. Generally, longer barrel length means higher muzzle velocity (ie, better armor penetration), increased range, and better accuracy - at the cost of increased reload time and higher weight for the gun mount. You could experiment with a "throwaway" design, and try bumping up the length to at least 35 calibers - possibly even 40 calibers - and then comparing the numbers as regards to range, armor penetration, accuracy, and reload time - to see if it would be worthwhile revising your initial design for longer barrel length on the main guns.
they are a little short but with the tech i have i can only stick it up to around 2% longer or 4% , They cant hit much atm so not going for super long range, we dont have the tech. Playing around with the design thin is going to happen for sure to have a dabble
@@MoisTeaGaming Yeah, afterwards I went into the game myself, and found out you could only lengthen them by one caliber - from 32 to 33. I was like "Oh wonderful, once again I've stuck my foot in my mouth in public, by not double-checking ahead of time to make sure I knew what I was talking about". I guess I'm just too bloody old to learn by this point. 😆😆
You asked for Cuba as part of the peace treaty negotiations, but the results screen for the final peace treaty said "no provinces received" - in short, Spain refused to give up any provinces, and just gave you a load of money instead. That's not unheard of when you get a one-turn war like that, where the losing side immediately offers to surrender - it's like the game thinks you haven't done enough damage to them to justify getting awarded a major province like Cuba.
as for the math to get to 100,000 tons get at least one of each class type in the dry dock for designs count (after you get the load out perfected with the tech you have at hand) count how many you need to get to 100,000 tons plus per squadern of just that then divide it the crew command limit for how many you need in each squadren to get that number and more. of course all squadrens are combined arms with all class's and crew size so you need to get the right combo for land invasions. the 1890's start does not give you much to work with unless you get larger hull base sizes to work with. also once you get the transport lines up to 200% and get enough cash in always upgrade the naval yards once you get it over 100,000 tons of space to get the tonage up to close a million and more then you can run massive sizes and orders for nations all over.
Tis sounds like a solid plan vincent, think im already on the right track then , i have many ships building just to get numbers / tonnage up and iv been constantly getting that shipyard capacity larger and larger :)
@@MoisTeaGaming good the more the merrier also in my 1890 start I had sold enough ships to the Dutch as the us so they got bold and launched attacks against Spain and others in Asia in the South Pacific region.
@@MoisTeaGaming but you're right, that's not the final change in weight, it doesn't count armor for citadel. You could see, that moving the turret changes weight even though you still have the same turret.
they are but not by nothing too massive, it is 1890s still so wont matter so much. Wanted it in the front so they can charge in, launch, then turn away, hopefully intact, ill take a bit of bow heaviness anyway for that

i did not know that !!! thats going to be a game changer thank you
@@MoisTeaGaming Yes, which means you can place torps on TB on the sides instead of just one in the middle for example.

you have to be at war with them for multiple turns inflicting enough damage to make the steal worth while.
so basically i really need to make them suffer to get it ... gotcha
Remember Guantanamo is a port in Cuba. You might have received it as its cheap.
@Jeff Beeler is it 😆 must have overlooked that , I wish you could look around rhe map while choosing these things
Yeah, AI likes to give you only some of what you ask for. I'd say next time ask for couple of cheaper territories to get at least some of those.
Might be worth increasing the length of those 9.9” as well, give them a bit more accuracy.
yea you may be right with that one !

Not sure if you saw but at around 31:55 you could see your 9.9" turret wieghed 470t which was almost the same weight as 11" turret.
