I have played guitar all my life but I never knew it could sound like this! It's so bright and happy, it sounds like a completely different instrument!
This is the typical Congolese soukous music and his style is typical sebene style of solo guitar, but he is not a typical Congolese guitarist. He is one of the best, not typical. The variety of melodies in one composition is huge, and the way he bridges from one melody to the next is very unusual and unique. He looks very young too. He will be the best in future.
ManiacVlog I was never not giving credit. I was sharing my experience and this type of music is all that is played in the Sudanese community. Way to turn the good vibes this songs gives me to your own agenda.
I was at a music store and I remember hearing someone playing this style of guitar and being completely blown away. Never heard ANYTHING like it. But I want to learn
This melody is like Sun is coming wearing sunglasses next the sea with a big smile on face while the fishes are dancing a luau and Yoshi is coming from distant mountains, which mode is he using anyway? Haha
If you follow the concept of modes, you never will get there. The secret of this special positive feel is something else: It is the fluent way he arpeggiates the chords.
Just amazing brother I am from Nepal had lots of friend here in university that I went to in USA from Africa and we use to all jam together you reminded me of those time thanks brother and best of luck for your future cheers
And the best music! The African people brought color and rhythm in the music in the whole world . Look to what music we are dancing now.. Salsa, merengue, rumba, reggae, samba, kizomba,r&b,…….all these music styles find their roots in Africa with the best percussion lines and rhythm. God bless Africa!
@@loffel1700 fun fact. Active Pickups were originally designed for Jazz because of the flat frequency response. if you turn the gain way down when its on clean and roll of the tone knob you get a great jazz box sound
Wow. Takes me back to the 1970's when I taught in a secondary school for two years in the Western Region of Ghana. Highlife was very big and I fell in love with it and still play it form time to time.
Nice. I"m feeling that. I've always wanted to hear "African" guitar is this manner. I love the feel, the melody. ..the universal soul of it all! Thank you.
This gentleman's fluid Congolese guitar skills are right up there with the likes of his compatriots Flamme Kappaya and Olivier Tchimanka. The melodies do bring to mind birdsong as is heard echoing through the canopy of tropical rain forests at dawn. Truly beautiful music that transcends culture and geography.
I remember listening to this back in November 2019-January 2020. Tik tok was just getting big, covid hadn't hit yet. Years later in 2024 I'm wishing I could go back to a simpler time
Most metal guitars make excellent jazz/clean guitars as well. With the action being so low and fret work usually precisely fashioned it makes for a fast playing , good handling instrument Even with over wound gain heavy pickups you just turn the volume potentiometer down a bit until the growl is gone and it cleans up into beautiful creaminess. “Orchestra baobab “is a good example of other similar style like this. They are from Senegal 🇸🇳
after listening to some african music I became curious to hear if any african musicians were playing electric guitar, because of the insane complexity of the melodies in the african music. and man it sounds good when you do. good stuff brother, thank you from Finland !
My layman thoughts tell me that the music instrument invention was an African concept. I even become much more selfish to think that Afro Guitarists are the best and most talented in the whole world. One can't afford to ignore applauding this young gentleman. Its a job well done
I really love that sound! Mama África is in everywhere with all those different kind of rhythms. I feel the earth vibrate when I listen it. Much love for all of us!
Colombian Caribbean region, very hot and sunny evenings, playing football in the streets while music like this played in the nearest neighborhood stores, with people there playing pool and drinking beers. Those days.
This is amazing. I was born and raised in Cartagena De Indias Colombia and this congolose Zoukous style is locally known as "champeta". This video instantly got me back to my childhood.
If sunshine had a literal melody, the African guitar would be it!!! Great Job!!!

I know right, so talented. The joy if the music was on his face. He was smiling non stop with the beauty music.
To me it sounded Caribbean. Is there a clear line of descent?
@Abraham Shekelbergstien Don't know about the guitar, but they did have the banjo
@Abraham Shekelbergstien sorry bud, but the banjo was brought to America by the slaves. We just polished it and gave it a different name.
Let's hear what it's SUPPOSE to sound like... ua-cam.com/video/YqgG7baoSHY/v-deo.html
This reminds of Sudanese parties where they would never end the song and continue playing for hours💛
i was thinking the same, in sudanese weddings they would get musicians to play music like this for hours!, its really beautiful
Stop it originates from Congo. Give credit. This is more their influence & style. Such as k Olmide & fally with Q Latin

Just normal major, ionian, right?
Sounds major, but he’s outlining chords, and the rhythm is what’s making the melody.
