    I’ve been focusing on behind the neck presses.
    Accessory exercises I have found benefits from specific to BNP that have given me good results.
    Calisthenic Body rows, Simple back bridge ( arms in extension ), Bilateral & One arm active and passive hangs.
    Focus on scapula depression and retraction with accessories.
    Thought I would share with everyone.

    Back in late 90's l bought a leg sled for one purpose, not the leg press or the hack squat, but to turn and face into the hack squat and do heavy lockouts, these drove up my push press and jerks overnight

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому +3

      I started using my hack squat machine tondo machine shoulder Presses hahah. by adding leg drive you could probably also get am effect similar to a viking press, but with more stability.

    completely random question but how severe are your DOMS after you training sessions and sprint work?

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому

      Most of the weight room work doesn't hit me that badly unless I am coming back from a layoff or do something like a set of 20 rep squats. I've been putting in high volume sprint sessions one time per week though lately and those are making my hip flexors, glutes, and hamstrings, and even my abs reeaaaally sore.

    • @beastyjnr5244

    Is the push jerk a good alternative to the regular jerk?

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому +1

      like a power jerk you mean? where you squat under the bar instead of splitting under it?
      they're basically the same when it comes to enhancing leg explosiveness. but the power jerk is less stable overhead than the split jerk.

    Bro doesn't like aesthetics while having one of the most aesthetic physiques on yt(my humble opinion). Question here, can I build muscle and strength without bulking? another question, when it comes to box jumps I tend to reach a point that I can't surpass. Not because I physically can't, but because I'm too scared. How do I deal with that?

    • @casperthegst
      @casperthegst 2 місяці тому +1

      As long as you are progressing your lifts then yes you can improve your appearance.

    • @bigking2743
      @bigking2743 2 місяці тому

      @@casperthegst I see, so I only need to keep getting stronger and my looks will improve by time

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому +3

      Yes, you can build muscle and strength without "bulking" so long as you are eating enough calories and protein to support the training. An actual bulk will probably provide slightly faster gains, but you'll gain more body fat to go along with it. That can be fine, or not fine, depending on your training goals.
      Box jumps will just hit a wall eventually because you can only jump so high. If you are not doing vertical jump specific training then I recommend changing up to a different jump variation for a little while to provide some novelty and spur on progress in a different fashion, then revisit the box jumps later.

    Have you ever tried pushing the muscle snatch? I feel like it’s a great exercise that demonstrates strength and power without requiring the level of technical prowess in having to “drop under” the bar

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому

      I've fallen in live with high hang power snatches ("pocket" snatches) for that simplicity effect you describe. Dip under is minimal, but pronounced enough to make a difference. Ive tinkered with muscle snatches a few times but they've always felt very awkward to me. I'll need to revisit them in the future though and see how they feel again!

    I have an issue where I can push press unreasonably more when my hands are in the OHP position and less when I have the front rack position. My legs are the more dominant thing. But I feel like Even when push down my elbow and let it rest on my clavicle My arms are just in a crappy position and even tho i do oly lifting and I’m a squat jerker I end up needing to press out instead of getting a full lockout

  • @SpaceMarine113

    I doubt Mike gives a shit, he just gives opinion based on scientific data and statistics. If you want to do you, nobody can stop you. I learned to front squat for fun, but the fact that it generates too much fatigue to be used effectively for hypertrophy cannot be argued. I can't fucking breathe after hard session of front squats, much less train other muscles, and i got an entire workout to do.

    • @EnkiriElite
      @EnkiriElite  2 місяці тому

      It can be argued. I already argued it.
