Cold out in dem streets
Strict press is badass
Yessir!
Fantastic video !!!!
I really wanted "An engineer's perspective", but Broscience will do for now.
Broscience is the only thing I have to offer.
Finally you posted a video after some time. Welcome back!
thanks man! I'm trying, just busy these days.
Awesome video and an even better toupee! Keep up the good work!
Seeing your 405 zombie squat celebration gives me so much motivation
Im looking to compete in a novice strongman comp in a few months so im taking notes on this
Good luck in the competition brotha!
This channel is what training is intended to be! TRAINING FOR ABILITIES NOT LOOKS!
GETTING JACK IS A LIABILITY IF YOU CANNOT DO ANYTHING MEANINGFUL WITH YOUR EXTRA WEIGHT
Big ups Enkiri!
I hope you found it helpful!
Another excellent video
thank you, sir!
Good shit Alec!
thanks dude!
Love this
I hope it helps ya dude!
Thank you, Alec! You've motivated me to be a better jerker 😊😁
;)
I’ve been focusing on behind the neck presses.
Accessory exercises I have found benefits from specific to BNP that have given me good results.
Calisthenic Body rows, Simple back bridge ( arms in extension ), Bilateral & One arm active and passive hangs.
Focus on scapula depression and retraction with accessories.
Thought I would share with everyone.
Back in late 90's l bought a leg sled for one purpose, not the leg press or the hack squat, but to turn and face into the hack squat and do heavy lockouts, these drove up my push press and jerks overnight
I started using my hack squat machine tondo machine shoulder Presses hahah. by adding leg drive you could probably also get am effect similar to a viking press, but with more stability.
@@EnkiriElite that sounds effective. I did this lift to help boost my 'hand and thigh pull' that l started doing after reading about it in a Randall Strossen magazine, the carry over to jerks was a surprise discovery
Do a video on that 5 foot jump in the beginning of your video
ive always wanted to master the strict press after seeing Rocky strict press a horse cart carrying his wife, trainer and brother in law during Rocky IV.
would have liked to see programming insights
My conclusion for getting big shoulders is lifting heavy weights above and over my head.
Can't go wrong with that!
That 60 inch box jump at the start is like nothing in this world, absolutely freaky, most pro athletes wouldn’t be able to do that, you’re the goddamn man bro.
Thats only 5' high......alec aint that short!
Literally smashed the like button 2 seconds before you asked. I win.
let's goooooo
Awesome video! Maybe squash the beef with Daniel though, both of you guys have great content. And would love to see you on his podcast or something, we all make mistakes ✌️
Sure, all he to do is issue a retraction and I'll stop thinking he's ignorant when it comes to barbells. Simple.
Nah that guy sucks bunghole
you ever tried the Arthur lift? seems like something youd be into
I have not, but certainly something to consider for the future!
Was not expecting the first exercise, makes sense though
front squat is probably my favorite all time exercise. makes you a beast and carries over into so many different things.
❤❤❤❤❤❤

What do you think about adding in Burpee Workouts for Conditioning?
If you like doing burpees or find them particularly satisfying/beneficial/easy to recover from then there is no reason why they can't be a Fantastic conditioning tool
@@EnkiriElite appreciate the response and help
“Over head pressing robs you of your gains”- Socrates
Socrates sounds like a p*ssy
completely random question but how severe are your DOMS after you training sessions and sprint work?
Most of the weight room work doesn't hit me that badly unless I am coming back from a layoff or do something like a set of 20 rep squats. I've been putting in high volume sprint sessions one time per week though lately and those are making my hip flexors, glutes, and hamstrings, and even my abs reeaaaally sore.
@@EnkiriElite yeah I tend to find that my abs and abductors get quite sore from sprint work but I don't get that sore from weight training anymore
Is the push jerk a good alternative to the regular jerk?
like a power jerk you mean? where you squat under the bar instead of splitting under it?
they're basically the same when it comes to enhancing leg explosiveness. but the power jerk is less stable overhead than the split jerk.
Bro doesn't like aesthetics while having one of the most aesthetic physiques on yt(my humble opinion). Question here, can I build muscle and strength without bulking? another question, when it comes to box jumps I tend to reach a point that I can't surpass. Not because I physically can't, but because I'm too scared. How do I deal with that?
As long as you are progressing your lifts then yes you can improve your appearance.
@@casperthegst I see, so I only need to keep getting stronger and my looks will improve by time
Yes, you can build muscle and strength without "bulking" so long as you are eating enough calories and protein to support the training. An actual bulk will probably provide slightly faster gains, but you'll gain more body fat to go along with it. That can be fine, or not fine, depending on your training goals.
Box jumps will just hit a wall eventually because you can only jump so high. If you are not doing vertical jump specific training then I recommend changing up to a different jump variation for a little while to provide some novelty and spur on progress in a different fashion, then revisit the box jumps later.
@@EnkiriElite I see, thanks for the info
Massive push presses = massive jerks, stronger upper body
Alec do you take creatine or you are a non responder?
I do take it periodically. Seems to provide a small benefit for me when I am consistent with it
43k views and only 300 likes. Even on this channel?? I guess a “get your biceps jacked with a new type of curl” would make 3000 likes( AthleneX type video ). Sad state of current training outlooks…
Lfg
yessirrrrr
All of that is suboptimal. It's gonna stress out your legs.
lmao and this time it really will too!
If i ever got back into barbell training, this how I'm doing it.
Have you ever tried pushing the muscle snatch? I feel like it’s a great exercise that demonstrates strength and power without requiring the level of technical prowess in having to “drop under” the bar
I've fallen in live with high hang power snatches ("pocket" snatches) for that simplicity effect you describe. Dip under is minimal, but pronounced enough to make a difference. Ive tinkered with muscle snatches a few times but they've always felt very awkward to me. I'll need to revisit them in the future though and see how they feel again!
I have an issue where I can push press unreasonably more when my hands are in the OHP position and less when I have the front rack position. My legs are the more dominant thing. But I feel like Even when push down my elbow and let it rest on my clavicle My arms are just in a crappy position and even tho i do oly lifting and I’m a squat jerker I end up needing to press out instead of getting a full lockout
I doubt Mike gives a shit, he just gives opinion based on scientific data and statistics. If you want to do you, nobody can stop you. I learned to front squat for fun, but the fact that it generates too much fatigue to be used effectively for hypertrophy cannot be argued. I can't fucking breathe after hard session of front squats, much less train other muscles, and i got an entire workout to do.
It can be argued. I already argued it.
