A lot easier than swimming out to the HMAS Cerburus at Black Rock down here in Melbourne. I remember diving off that back in the 80's, you could have walked to that ship.
Another one I missed! So glad I decided to type in first reactions to spy vs spy, how could I have forgotten them for so long? Too long! Wish I could time travel back to these times and watch myself going ape shit (that's an oldy) on the dance floor to bands like these. Glad I started sneaking out in my early teens late 70's early 80's, too much going on to miss out on.
" Look on the Brightside " THE MIGHTY, AWESOME v Spy v Spy I own 2 copies of their Debut EP " Four Fresh Lemons " from the very early 80's. HARRY's REASONS & AO MOD TV VERS. are bloody great albums. I must've seen this Band line-up 100 times in the 80's. They are one of the highlights of my youth. Great memories of seeing them LIVE. Cliff's last gig was at The Phoenician Club on Broadway. I saw most of their gigs on The Northern Beaches of Sydney. They were a very special Rock Band. RIP Michael
Al I'm guessing you saw them at the Venue Dee Why on more than one occasion? I also spent my 20's in Collaroy/Narrabeen and seen them more times than I can recall. So sad about Mike :( and the fact they're no more. Cliff's regenerated a new lineup but not the same for me.
The video was filmed at Stockton Beach at the wreck of The Sygna, from a cyclone in 1974.
just as well the Pasha Bulker did not finish the same way!! The Sygna is gone now
@@savitrisdisciple yep she certainly is

Yes, I grew up on The Northern Beaches.
Saw them at other venues as well, though mostly close to home.
Cool that you watched spy v spy
One of their early singles, great track. Came out in about 1984 I think.
Ah the Spies! Great band. They had to add a ‘v.’ in front of their name after MAD Magazine sued
fyi the lead singer stutters when he talks but not when he sings ... just interstin fact ... love spys grew up with them saw them live 2 or 3 times.
