Technically there is a precedent for this because in the 1400's the Czech king was a man from a Polish-Lithuanian noble family because the succession of the previous Czech kings was a total mess. This however didnt last long because it also turned out to be a mess and the successor was a Hungarian-Croatian king.

@@Cameron368 Well, there's good and bad things by doing that, the good is the one you mentioned, the bad is if someone else owns that state, you can't declare war on the original owner
Why? I think it makes sense and it means Lithuania, a tiny Baltic nation, can focus on the country that historically was a bigger threat to it. Seems kind of dumb to make it super challenging for a crappy Baltic country to have to fight two superpowers, it would be fairer if you were Poland from start to finish

There is an Icon on each army division where you can tell them what level of supply infrastructure they should use.
Alot easier than changing every single node to trucks.
It would be even better if that button consistently works. I don't know exactly what triggers it but it is a known bug that it sometimes resets back to cavalry. Therefore, it is much safer to just manually change the most important supply hubs.
Le Doctor Bones it’s not a bug, because it follows your army, as soon as the game recognises that your army is gone they unmechanise to reduce the need for trucks. So yeah, better to actually manually do it one by one

The reason that the Germans didn't declare war on you is because their AI works in a way so it would declare the war on the Poland (tag POL). But your country tag is LIT. Same thing happeneds if you restore Austria-Hungary as Hungary. As the tag AUS doesnt exist, the focus would just bypass.
Last time I played Hungary, the Anschluss didn't bypass and the Germans attacked me when I refused. Or it was a fever dream I had. Either way, there's inconsistencies in how Paradox programs annexations/territorial demands through events/focuses. Germany can't do Danzig or War if Poland doesn't own Danzig, but when I played as Estonia a few days ago, the Germans demanded Memel from me. So it's all a bit fucked.

Cool supply tips:
1) Use transport planes, they’re broken. 40 planes can supply an entire army group which is hilarious.
2) Under the army tab (I think) you can set supply to motorized focus which automatically sets you railways to motorized that way you don’t have to update each individual supply hub.
3) You can upgrade an entire rail system from the hub closest to the front line.
Hope these tips help!

Me, playing Poland-Romania fighting through Northern China and losing about 10k motorized due to the amount of supply attrition: "um...."
I'm really enjoying the DLC. The only small frustrations are entirely my fault, since I'm playing as Royalist Russia right now and you basically have zero high command. Some of the Soviet generals defect of course, but the good ones (who didn't get Purged) don't.
the amount of generals defecting is really little, but I just had Zhukov and Rokossovsky defecting to me good three hours ago, so idk, if it was that much of "luck" since i received mainly 3/4 skill generals (Reyter as the only 1/2 skill general)
arent you supposed to influence them and start the civil war early before Stalin purges everyone

My frustrations is mainly on intervening in the, Spanish civil war for the Republicans. Nationalists CAS is instsnt while mine isnt
I have noticed when experimenting with the Soviet Union that the AI will now consistently dday successfully if the soviets are projected to win. Even with a half buffed Germany and no matter the date, if the Soviet Union starts making considerable gains the AI has become very good at recognizing that they need a dedicated dday. I have yet to be be able to conquer the Benelux or France on my way through Germany, which absolutely was a thing in the past. Also super fun to watch every German tank starve as you death stack supply hubs and railways, a lot more refreshing then Germany being over powered and having optimal supply all the way to the Urals because German AI over powered for a while now. If anything I think they need to revisit how the AI handles railways, in the case of the Germans, they seem to cobweb very hard from Berlin out. Which would be ‘fine’ if their construction queue wasn’t full to the brim railways that aren’t even half way through Poland with no supply in Ukraine.
To clarify cobwebbing - Specific mostly to the Germans from what I know, it’s literally having the powerful ‘arms’ (main lines) extend from the major supply zone (typically capital) and then doing circles, like a literal cobweb. This would be fine if the Germans fought more on their front lines but after 1941 the Germans should be doing the opposite but they don’t. Like as the Soviet Union you want to extend good arms from Moscow to the Dniepper river (major one by Poland, through Ukraine) and cobweb there, but the Germans do the opposites and end up with terrible supply by mid Ukraine, and supply issues start the second they enter.
It seems like the AI is way better at naval invasions in general now, I've seen a lot more of them that weren't just a couple units suiciding on the beach since the new update. I got tunnel vision while I was doing Sea Lion and the British counter-invaded Hamburg and Kiel, overwhelmed my garrison, and took over most of northwest Germany before I bothered to notice what was happening. Sure it was mostly from me being an idiot, but they NEVER used to invade that well.
I was doing a "no step back!" Achievement run and I made puppets out of Poland, dedicated everything to air and made a maginot around bessarabia, since I never made any push against Germany the AI slogged through Greece, Italy and Yugoslavia. 1947 and they hadn't capped Germany yet even though i had 2k strat bombers crippling their economy
I beat Germany in 1940 on my achievement run and got ruined by the Danes taking back Schleswig-Holstein at the last second for the "no losing a core to the allies before captivating the Germans"
It wasn't a D-Day it was the fact the German had to declare on the Czechs indtead of absorb them (on historical) and I took after I half their country on a quick justification after I took Poland in 1937.
i whent all the way to Spain as communist poland commonwealth. Got the Reich, France Belgium, luxemburg and Spain plus the italians and the chezs. The aliied got vichi as puppet, the Reich did operation anton a month after the war, got all of french africa lol. Possible to get with green air.
This is one of my favorite dlcs to date. The supply system is extremely fun and strategic, the tank system adds so much depth and allows even small nations to build cheap tanks. The high command is super tactical too. Plus i gotta say the ai is so much better, with supply and ive seen all majors building tanks. 10/10
I agree with ISP on this update. Played a French game recently (one of my favorite nations to play) and it was tons of fun. Trying out new strats and trying to game the supply system is so much more fun than making 40w tanks and clicking the arrow button
what's also really cool is if you're using tanks and want to swarm into an opening you should do it along the railway because the railways negate movement penalties for vehicles from terrane so what I did is I'd have the tanks break open a hole in the line an blitz along the rail line to the supply hubs and cities to screw over the supply for the AI.
That focus tree for Lithuania was legit the most fun I've had in Hoi4. The greater Commonwealth is insanely strong only rivaled by perhaps Turan but the industry you steal from Germany and USSR is amazing.
By coincidence, Ukraine broke from Russia in their civil war and stayed, and my division because of all the buffs broke through mountains, rivers, and HEAVY TANKS and killed 500,000 Ukrainians to my 61,000. Gosh, it’s such a good tree
The reason Danzig or war got bypassed is because you started as Lithuania, and Annexed Poland to become the Commonweatlh. In the code, your tag is still Lithuania, and Poland's tag is set to whatever "dead" is, and Danzig or war gets bypassed if Poland doesn't exist (AKA, their tag is set to whatever "dead" is).

The only game I've done with No Step Back was a Lithuania game with my brother. We died in 1940 because Britain guaranteed us.

You can motorize your armies on the army selection screen - picking the field marshal and doing it there applies it to all armies currently under their command (and you'll have to do it again for any new armies added) and they'll only motorize the hubs they need.

The one issue I have with the DLC. Is how slow it is to get your first doctrine research. Especially if you are playing a nation like Russia. Where your goal is mainly the army. You might struggle to invest in navy.

As a lithuanian, i was rolling in laughter because of how you pronounced the words and how you imagined the language also the "angry lithuanian" at 2:03 said "pasiruošes, tamsta!" translated it roughly means "ready sir!". The iron wolf brigade reffers to the dream our i think King had about an iron wolf howling at the loudness of a 1000 or 100 (idk i learned abt this like 5yrs ago i can't remember everything) wolfs and then he built the city Vilnius there it's now lithuania's capital city.

Danzig or war only works for the Poland tag, but since you annexed Poland and still have the Lithuania tag the focus gets bypassed and German goes straight to around the maginot
Infrastructure does NOT assist in supply anymore, only rails. Also, if you don't want to manually update supply hubs, each army has a little button that sets what level of supply it's set to - horses, trucks, double trucks.
Tip: Instead of manually changing the motorization of your hubs, you can change it in the army popup when you select a general or field marshal (as a small button in the top right of the window) which automatically changes the motorization of the hub as the armies pass through

Hey guys, if you don't want to manually change every supply hub to motorized, you can actually set your generals and field marshals to do it for you. Just click on the general/field marshal and click on the little horse near the top of his menu.

I like the supply system for sure, and most people complaining about it just seem unable to read or something, my main issue with this new DLC is the tank designer blows massive dong and they all get rekt by the newly buffed CAS (which totally needed a buff right lmao)
Because you unified as Lithuania, the Danzig or War focus bypasses because it meets the third bypass condition set out - that POL is neither controller or owner of state 85 (Danzig)

here's an even cooler tip that's prolly been said to you many times by now, you can change the motorization on your armies so they automatically motorize nearby supply hubs and they demotorize when youre army isn't nearby to save on trucks.

with the supply chains this makes hoi4 pretty good for any period from 1850-present
Just a tip on the motorization of your network. If you select your field marshal and look at the top right of them there is a tab to auto change your supply style so anywhere your troops go they will automatically use trucks if you change it to trucks. It makes it easy and you don't need to use trucks behind the lines where your troops aren't so it saves trucks and uses them only where your army is.
I love how a simple war with the Russians and a clicking simulator focus lets you basically triple your land.

ISP you can click the motorization on the general or field marshal to automatically change the hubs to trucks as the army moves through. It's the horse icon
To spare your wrist, you can use the menu on the hubs to upgrade the bottlenecks. I wish I'd figured that out sooner.

I think it is because your origin country is Lithuania, so when you annex Kingdom of Poland, that might be why 'Danzig or War' is bypassed because Poland was no longer exist despite you are 'Poland -Lithuania Commonwealth'.

donne so many baltic runs (on purpos) that i acctually love that thay made focus trees fore them. buut where italy and the nordics (could have at least throw some nordics in while youre at it paradox)

A lot of people (not ISP) are making the supply thing MUCH harder than it actually is. You almost never need to build new railways or supply hubs, just upgrade the existing ones; spam Civs at the beginning of the game NOT RAILWAYS, as some people have been doing. Also, supply is going to suck sometimes; get over it! Stop trying to force everything to bend to your will, and instead learn to be adaptive and dynamic and improvisational. Lastly, you can't just steamroll over countries anymore. You have to push, stop, rebuild supply, and then push again; like in real life. Capture strategic points like supply hubs and railways; like in real life. Use your brain and plan your attacks and defenses and adapt to changes in the situation; like in real life.
@iSorrowproductions, you can make it automatically change to trucks. You click on the commander of an entire army, then click on that horse. Thanks to this, you can choose the level of motorization.

Leave it to Paradox to make Ultimatums totally not work. Danzig or War bugging out is not the first one. It works the same way in the other direction with Memel. They can demand it but they will only get a war goal on Lithuania if you decline so if you arent Lithuania and you own Memel, there is not punishment for not handing it over
