as animation student,seeing they create it as claymation make me feel like wanna fainted because it's FUCKIN tricky and need whole ass dedication to create it
It's not claymation, it's stop motion puppets. Plastic faces and whatnot Actual claymation is less common for stop motion compared to puppets, and you'll know it's clay when you see it, usually they don't have separate clothing and it's all clay.

I have a soft spot in my heart for stopmotion, since I grew up on old Russian cartoons done in stopmotion (claymation is personally my favorite but ik it is HARD to do). so seeing it done for Ajax makes my heart melt
I loved this stop motion animation so much. Reminded me of the stop motion dark fantasy cartoons from 1970’s and 1980’s from Russia. The creators did a phenomenal job with this! Was definitely one of the best animations at HoyoFair this year.
I love how beautifully mesmerizing they made childe's face. The evident detail that they've put into this project is absolutely astounding. This stop motion project has a special place in my heart!
Ajax looks every bit of the pretty prince that he is and the concept really reminds me of The ocean at the end of the lane by Neil gaiman. This is so very beautiful, it has this alluring charm to it that I know will having me coming back again and again. The team behind this masterpiece must be amazing, I hope we can see more projects by them someday
I can't believe I just watched a stop motion animation with a Slavic folk-like story, connected to the world of Genshin?! I wish there were more fan works like this, this was really creative and fun to watch. Kudos to everyone involved, it couldn't have been easy (Edit: Slavic instead of Russian)

This was my favorite entry of this Hoyofair. Love the effort and smoothness of the animation, the designs, the fantastic voice acting. I got Pied Piper vibes when the children first followed him before it was revealed he was protecting them. Childe's character was nailed perfectly here. Perfect representation of him and I'm so happy and thankful that one of my favorite characters was the star of this. Thank you!!

Веет уютом и старыми советскими мультиками которые думаю многие из нас смотрели. Хоть это и фан работа но я крайне жду от Снежной чего-то такого, эх мечты, мечты.
the talent and passion put in this project is powerful! It did the character of Tartaglia so much justice to a point that even people without an attachment to the character or who don't know him can watch this and get their enjoyment out of it! No matter what I say, I can't find the words to show just how *much* I love this animation.. so, THANK YOU!! To the team that made this animation a reality; I will be rewatching it multiple times!!!
idk how to explain this but as a slavic person the stop motion was a great choice as a medium - it feels like it catches the essence of our old grandma stories and myths. for me it feels really nostalgic. great job!

One of the reason I love Genshin and star rail so much is because the community is full of talented people who can do stuff like this AND have hoyo caring about them by hosting events like Hoyofair. And by talented I mean REALLY talented. I can’t even fathom the time all of those projects took, this one in particular.

@@ggzbhs5589 I don't think it's tied to slavic folklore. It's common for main characters to be a saviour of the day, but they usually go through a trial of sorts. A young person has to leave their house, face dangers and outsmart them, defeat the main evildoer and come back home with a reward. And crows were rather neutral wise creatures. So, this story has some slavic vibes, but doesn't really rely on mythology.

MY FAVOURITE SHORT IS ON UA-cam? HELL YES. I've been gooning all over this piece since the end of the livestream! It's just so good! I'm not even usually a fan of stop motion, I just can tell the amount of patience and love that was put into it. The characterization of Childe is so spot on that in spite the fact it's fanmade and an AU, I can't stop thinking how much it resonates with his in game characterization! That's always a surprise for me because not everybody puts the patience it takes looking into his personality past his superficial look. Last year for me was Kaveh's Writing on the Wall, this time it's The Toy Salesman that did it. I'm really glad to see this work getting the appreciation it deserves!

GOSH!!! the portrayal of him was SO GOOD especially with Childe i don't see him in much content of him like this sadly? the story telling, animation, the characterisation was so detailed and charming i would pay to see a movie like this. Childe being the big brother wherever he goes 😭😭😭this is so dear to me
words can't describe how impressed I am! what an amazing display of craftsmanship and cinema! The sets, dolls, and movements were all so detailed, it was incredible! Their movements were so fluid and lifelike, I can't imagine how hard and time consuming it is to create such a masterpiece!. I especially love the art style the dolls were fashioned in. Childe has such boyish youthful handsomeness to him. All the characters facial features remind me of Russian animations for some reason, which is a huge win considering its set in Snezhnaya. I don't watch hoyofair but this was an exception. What a masterpiece! I'd love to see a full behind the scenes of how you guys made the dolls and sets!
У данной работы непередаваемый вайб советских кукольных мультфильмов, даже не знаю в чем оно выражается, в общих планах камеры, или в локациях или даже в самих куклах....но это потрясающе. Сколько сил и труда вложено! Огромное уважение авторам фильма.
Просто невероятная работа, приятно увидеть немного старорусской культуры, в т.ч. монстров. Ожидаю в Снежной вот такие деревенские глубинки с фольклором и нарядами. Десять Кощеев из десяти, снимаю шляпу перед аниматорами

At this point whoever made this should be hired by a studio and make this to an official movie that should get into cinema cos OMG look how much effort and budget to make those studio quality stopmotion with that super duper detailed characters and environments! Старым, кукольным советским мультиком, где персонажи, куколки, выгледят настолько хрупкими и добрыми, что хочется их обнять. Когда-то они напоминали мне моменты, будто бабушка читает на ночь сказку внучке, так по доброму, спокойно, и добрые персонажи в её речи кажутся тихими ангелами. Вот бы увидеть эту работу в русской, качественной переозвучке, это было бы очень приятно и атмосферно. I hope that foreign commentators were also imbued with the same atmosphere that Russian viewers were imbued with. Thank you for this wonderful cartoon.❤
Невероятная работа! Единственное, к чему можно предраться, так это мондшдадтская архитектура. Но всё остальное просто класс! Отличная кукольная анимация, будто отсылающая к работам Союзмультфильма! Всё, начиная костюмами, и заканчивая характером людей, будто сошло с древнерусских народных сказкак. Также хочется похвалить за характер Чайлда, уверен, что в игре он повёл бы себя абсолютно так же. Ну и Кощеи, эти костяные чёрные вороны, убить которых можно лишь уничтожив их сердце, являются феноменальной адаптацией народных сказаний!

Скажу как и в комментарии к оригинальному хойофару, насколько сильно я люблю эту работу. Насколько хорошо вложена была культура сюда, фольклор, дизайны кукол. Веет уютом и старыми советскими мультиками которые думаю многие из нас смотрели. Хоть это и фан работа но я крайне жду от Снежной чего-то такого, эх мечты, мечты.
the talent and passion put in this project is powerful! It did the character of Tartaglia so much justice to a point that even people without an attachment to the character or who don't know him can watch this and get their enjoyment out of it! No matter what I say, I can't find the words to show just how *much* I love this animation.. so, THANK YOU!! To the team that made this animation a reality; I will be rewatching it multiple times!!!

idk how to explain this but as a slavic person the stop motion was a great choice as a medium - it feels like it catches the essence of our old grandma stories and myths. for me it feels really nostalgic. great job!

Я думаю трудности адаптации чужой культуры) хотя если сделали такую достойную стопмоушен анимацию, то я думаю в китае не составило бы труда найти балалайку 😂 ну да ладно, мелочи)

У него нет сердца, а смерть его на конце иглы, которая очень далеко спрятана, поэтому кощея называют бессмертным. В наших сказках он обычно является злодем, и более человекоподобным, вроде живого скелета. Так что да, небольшая основа русского фольклора здесь есть.❤

One of the reason I love Genshin and star rail so much is because the community is full of talented people who can do stuff like this AND have hoyo caring about them by hosting events like Hoyofair. And by talented I mean REALLY talented. I can’t even fathom the time all of those projects took, this one in particular.

@@ggzbhs5589 I don't think it's tied to slavic folklore. It's common for main characters to be a saviour of the day, but they usually go through a trial of sorts. A young person has to leave their house, face dangers and outsmart them, defeat the main evildoer and come back home with a reward. And crows were rather neutral wise creatures. So, this story has some slavic vibes, but doesn't really rely on mythology.
This reminds me of the soviet stop motion films i used to watch as a kid. Awesome work! Captured that comfy, home-like warm atmosphere...

Как же хорошо авторы показали особенности русских народных нарядов. Мне также понравилось, что Кощеи бессмертны, пока не уничтожить предмет в котором хранится их погибель. Что уж говорить о самой анимации, ребята постарались на славу. Жду такую Снежную, не прощу хойо, если они не покажут мне подобную красотищу

This is phenomenal animation, I thought it was something MHY commissioned but to learn that it's a passion project is UNREAL. This is what can happen when you support and appreciate your community. If only certain other companies named Nintendo could learn that lesson.

this deserved to be a literal movie. THIS WAS GORGEOUS!!! i don’t ever see stop motion moves too much anymore, let alone claymation ones. MY FAVOURITE SHORT IS ON UA-cam? HELL YES. I've been gooning all over this piece since the end of the livestream! It's just so good! I'm not even usually a fan of stop motion, I just can tell the amount of patience and love that was put into it. The characterization of Childe is so spot on that in spite the fact it's fanmade and an AU, I can't stop thinking how much it resonates with his in game characterization! That's always a surprise for me because not everybody puts the patience it takes looking into his personality past his superficial look. Last year for me was Kaveh's Writing on the Wall, this time it's The Toy Salesman that did it. I'm really glad to see this work getting the appreciation it deserves!

GOSH!!! the portrayal of him was SO GOOD especially with Childe i don't see him in much content of him like this sadly? the story telling, animation, the characterisation was so detailed and charming i would pay to see a movie like this. Childe being the big brother wherever he goes 😭😭😭this is so dear to me
words can't describe how impressed I am! what an amazing display of craftsmanship and cinema! The sets, dolls, and movements were all so detailed, it was incredible! Their movements were so fluid and lifelike, I can't imagine how hard and time consuming it is to create such a masterpiece!. I especially love the art style the dolls were fashioned in. Childe has such boyish youthful handsomeness to him. All the characters facial features remind me of Russian animations for some reason, which is a huge win considering its set in Snezhnaya. I don't watch hoyofair but this was an exception. What a masterpiece! I'd love to see a full behind the scenes of how you guys made the dolls and sets!

Случайно увидев отрывок работы где-то на просторах Тик Тока я долгое время искал оригинал, и наконец нашëл. Вы просто не представляете, каким де вацбом веки от этой работы- тем самым, детством. Старым, кукольным советским мультиком, где персонажи, куколки, выгледят настолько хрупкими и добрыми, что хочется их обнять. Когда-то они напоминали мне моменты, будто бабушка читает на ночь сказку внучке, так по доброму, спокойно, и добрые персонажи в её речи кажутся тихими ангелами.
Вот бы увидеть эту работу в русской, качественной переозвучке, это было бы очень приятно и атмосферно.

Всё, начиная костюмами, и заканчивая характером людей, будто сошло с древнерусских народных сказкак. Также хочется похвалить за характер Чайлда, уверен, что в игре он повёл бы себя абсолютно так же.
Ну и Кощеи, эти костяные чёрные вороны, убить которых можно лишь уничтожив их сердце, являются феноменальной адаптацией народных сказаний!
