A handgun has no more then 20 rounds average in the magazine, and a rifle typically has 30. If they drag him into the class, they might be able to tackle/pileup/drag him to the floor than shiv him or cut his neck with a scissor or pencil. Of course, it would be much better for the teacher to be trained and armed with a weapon of his own. That got violent fast.
