KOWA GENESIS XD 10.5x44 . Ancora al TOP dopo 17 anni! Non me l'aspettavo!

- Nel 2006, Kowa presentò il GENESIS PROMINAR XD44 nei formati 8.5x e 10.x, successivamente propose il formato 33 mm e infine quello compatto da 22 mm. Su Binomania.it, avrete senz’altro letto varie recensioni e opinioni a riguardo. Questa volta, però, ho deciso di descrivere le mie impressioni pratiche dopo aver osservato con il formato 10.5x44, che mi è stato gentilmente fornito da Kowa Optimed Deutschland e che costa 1389 euro, ha eccellenti vetri XD Kowa e molte soluzioni interessanti che gli consentono tutt’oggi di essere ancora uno dei migliori binocoli presenti sul mercato.

Ciao Vittorio, chissà mai che potremmo vedere un nuovo aggiornamento, prima o poi. Ma come sai chi compra Kowa sa che per anni gli strumenti proposti manterranno alto il loro valore dato che non sono propensi a rapidi aggiornamenti.
I own the Genesis Prominar XD 8.5x44 and 10.5x44 and both are excellent, superb binos.
Indiscutibilmente KOWA sa come costruire ottiche al TOP; per prestazioni il binocolo KOWA GENESIS XD 10.5x44 è puro esercizio di stile.

Thanks for this review. I am looking for a new pair of 10X bins. My current 23 year old Leica 10X32 have quite a lot of chromatic aberration which gets on my nerves. These Kowas might be the answer.
Hi! if you are sensible to chromatic aberration, Kowa could be a great binoculars for you, but i must love the warm tonality of these lenses.
Sono un felice possessore di un Kowa BD II 10x42 e sarei davvero curioso di provarlo e confrontarli. Magari trovandolo al giusto prezzo potrebbe un passo in avanti

Hi, I haven't compared them during the same observation session but the Kowa Genesis is superior for various characteristics, I think it has superior microcontrast, greater sharpness and better containment of chromatic aberration. It's a real ALPHA compared to average quality binoculars. Ciao dall'Italia

Ciao, sui 200 euro trovi il Vortex Diamondback mentre poco sopra i 300 trovi il Kowa SV II...Tutti e due sono prodotti consigliabili nella loro fascia di prezzo

How do these Genesis Prominar XDs stand against the Alphas?
Hi, as you may have read in the article, the KOwa genesis has a very good micro-contrast and a very good chromatic aberration correction. Compared to the Alphas, it has a small field of view, has uncomfortable eyepieces for the little ones and weighs a bit. But for the price it is definitely an excellent product

So, optical performance wise, the smaller FOV of the Genesis Prominar XD 44s vs the Alphas is their only drawback?
Apart from that [smaller FOV (you also have to take into account that they have 0.5x more magnification)], would you then say, in your opinion, that they are at an equivalent level to the Alphas?
@@mauriciolacruz Hi Maurizio, as you know, having reached a certain level of optical and mechanical quality, the various differences "light transmission, color cast, focus brevity and more" can determine a choice. I would say that if I had to compare the Kowa to the TOPs and if I were a Genesis owner and I was happy with its design cons, I wouldn't feel such a great need to upgrade to an "ALPHA". More or less I had the same feeling with the FUJINON HC which is really underrated by enthusiasts. HI

I am a proud owner of the Kowa Genesis Prominar XD 44 in both configurations: 8.5x44 and 10.5x44.
I haven't tried any Alpha for now, so I deeply appreciate comments from those who did.
In my opinion, the weight isn't a problem at all, rather the opposite (I like the feel of extra robustness). The eyecups are ok for me. And a smaller FOV (compared to the TOPs), as long as the image quality offered is more or less on par with them, isn't an issue for me either (I never move my eyes off-axis).
In such (my) circumstance, I then presume you would be very happy with the Genesis Prominar XD 44 as you stated, and wouldn't feel the necessity to upgrade. Ok.
But... Are they optically (apart from a smaller FOV) on par with the Alphas?:
- Central Sharpness
- Edge sharpness
- Contrast / Micro contrast
- Color
- Chromatic Aberrations
- Distortion
- Stray light
- Glare
- Blackouts
- ...
Yes, I know that the Kowas will not shine vs the Alphas on all the characteristics cited above. I just want to know if these binoculars, regardless of (not including into the equation) their smaller FOV, can really be a match against the Alphas in terms of image quality as a whole package.

Hi Trident, You are absolutely right and I am sorry for that. For now, you could use the automatic subtitles and the translation created directly by UA-cam but you have to use a PC and not a smartphone. I'm practically inundated with products to test, I'm often working even on Sundays and I really struggle to re-propose the subtitles like last year, when I went out with fewer videos. I need a collaborator but the channel is not taking off as I hoped. Above all I have only 15-20% of people who see the videos and that dedice to subscribe and a few people who disclose it on forums and social networks. For now I have to do everything by myself with enormous difficulty. But thanks for your constructive criticism.
