    This is the first video shot on my new Sony A7S III, so I apologize for any blurry moments (still learning the ins and outs)
    I purchased this lawn mower earlier this year after just being done with our gas powered mower. I have to admit, I was a little reluctant on if it could do as good of a job as our gas mower, however it has far exceeded our expectations and the ease of use and quieter experience is exactly what we desired. There is no way you could get me to purchase a gas powered mower again (or trimmer for that matter) and I can't wait for the bigger lawn tractors to go electric eventually!

    Lightweight is good and what did I use it for it’s a lawnmower ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxTPN04aT-Qdjr_KS3ql7ng8wnU3wwsCqk also recommend Yes it is lightweight so hence not as robust as our old one. But if you take care it does the job really well.

    Huge THANK YOU for this video. I purchased this same model this week--moving from a John Deere self-propelled mower I purchased in 1999. I mowed my front yard and love this mower! No more gas, oil changes, and filter changes. I maintained my JD religiously with regular oil and filter changes. Also kept the deck clean. This is much easier with the Stihl and found the Stihl blower keeps the top deck clean.

    I have 2 Stihl products (both gas, backpack leaf blower and string trimmer) and love everyone of them, but I am switching to electric for our lawn mower, after watching several videos on the RMA 510 I am definitely buying one this week. Your video made my decision easier, yes they are pricey, but you get what you pay for! And this mower is made in America.

    FANTASTIC VIDEO - Thank you so much. I bought this model today at my local hardware because I trusted the brand and the level of service from the store. As helpful as the staff were and thorough in going over the mower you video was a tremendous help and provided so much useful info and tips. Thanks again.

    Thanks I made my decision based on this video of not buying any of my equipment being battery powered so I’ll stick to petrol as I like washing my mowers and I like how they are more sturdy

    I like this mower! If you look closely it looks like Greenworks makes this for Stihl. The bails, shape of the steel deck, the start button the handle , grass catcher/ bagger and wheels all are the same. There are differences the two batteries, and colors. I agree that it is a good mower.

    My husband died five months ago so I've been on a steep learning curve, having to do all the things that he normally did. I'd done the mowing before but not the maintenance on the lawn mower itself, so your video was very helpful. I always use a metal garden spade to clean underneath but will use a hard brush from now on, so thanks for that tip. I'm getting better at whipper-snipping and pruning the high hedges and fruit trees, but still have much to learn about those tools as well. As I live in Tasmania, our winters are cold and wet so the grass is always thick and often damp and my mower slows down as if it's going to stop, then picks up again even though the battery is fully charged and I mow often. Any ideas about what the problem is?

    • @navaho5430
      @navaho5430 Рік тому

      You answered your own question " thick and wet" even a petrol mower will bog down, raise the cutting height and go slower, ARE THE BLADES SHARP all the best and cheers from Moruya NSW.

    • @renastein9892
      @renastein9892 Рік тому

      @@navaho5430I thought that at first also, that it was the damp grass, but it happens when the grass is bone dry as well. I mow twice a week to keep the lawn short but the motor still seems to "change gear" which is the best way I know how to describe it, but now I just I pretend to ignore it.🙂

    I've got Stihl blower that I mostly use on cleaning up snow from my SUV, or drying car, etc. I can't be happier with the quality. I am going to buy the mower now. I mostly have Gardena stuff for all my lawn care, I've got their electric reel mower which cuts the grass fantastic but that reel mower is for really lush flat lawn. My new house has got very bumpy yard so I need something like Stihl non cylinder. Don't want to buy gas mower. Bosch is non-existent where I live and I think they only make their products available in Europe but thanks God I can get Stihl products. I will be buying this mower tomorrow.

    Thanks for the video! I always look for long term reviews where the item is paid for and used by the owner. STIHL has a stellar reputation worth protecting. This is why I chose to check out this video. You did an excellent job. As you said, there's no perfect anything. I have a bunch of cordless stuff that was orphaned by the manufacturer due to a battery change that is now worthless. This is why I'm interested in STIHL. As I said, they do have a reputation worth protecting.

    As a commercial user the ‘no heavy rain caveat make it useless. Our equipment stored inside, however does experience torrential rain at times when we get stormed on and the equipment it in the truck bed or on the trailer. So no go for me unfortunately. How hard would it have been to make the lid seal air tight? OK yeah don’t spray the bottom side of the deck but just to make it rainproof add a locking gasket-ed lid with a locking latch. WTF Stihl !

    STIHL - For the record, label right on the mower, "Made In China" Those saying it's "made" here," it's not, It might be designed here, but it's not made in any way shape or form, in the USA.

    The toro is better... deck wash etc. The handle is way more comfortable. More powerful motor. All steel from shaft to blade. More heavy duty for the odd stick or twig. The stihl is cheaper but not by much... and it does have a couple of advantages like eco mode but overall the Toro wins.

    Great, thorough review, thank you :) I truly agree about the hand grip design! Why, Stihl, why? You're better than this! That thin, metal bar kills my hand tendons with the constant, quite firm pressure needed to keep it in place :(

    • @youhen01
      @youhen01 2 роки тому

      I use the self attaching Velcro strip that comes on the charger cord. I wrap that around the handle and then when I start the blades I wrap it around the bar and then it’m stays on by itself. Then all you have to worry about is the drive controls

    Great video, thanks. I recently bought the non - self propelled mower and like it a lot. The battery quit just before I was finished yesterday, so tried to charge it for a short time just to finish. But I could not remove the battery from the charger at ½ charged. So after charging to full all night, this morning I was still unable to pull the battery out. Is there some release mechanism I'm missing??
    Thanks.

    Battery mowers are not made for wet grass is made to cut grasses after 4:30 pm making sure grass is full dried so it doesn’t do what miss on that grass in the vid that’s why battery mowers have lights

      Far out! He really cant win, can he? If the units given to him.. then the videos biased. If he buys it himself, then he's just "pretending" to be an expert. At what point is it acceptable for a video to be made?
      If i can use your own phrase against you.. I'd say; "I love viewers that look for any justification to make negative comments on everything" subtext "I'm a miserable human being just looking to spread my misery".
