I WOULD NEVER USE WIRES TO HOLD THAT SPRING, i saw a guy at the junk yard do the same thing and the wires didnt hold the tension and the spring popped and hit the guy in the face it broke his nose, teeth and jaw, its an image i will never forget what happen to that guy. If you need to remove the springs out of your struts buy the tool or rent it, think of your safety first
Actually you can do it without compressors.. you just use the cars weight to push down on the spring, then tighten up the nut at top. The wire idea is a joke

No need to align on this type of mounting shock/strut. There are two types of mounting shock specially on this '93-'96 lancer (not sure on other year model), the bushing type and the bearing type. On this video it applies on bearing type only. May I know what kind of car you want to change the strut mount?

I cringe seeing people do this, the proper tool is not that expensive and safer. If you ever seen a compressed spring fly off the strut you wouldn't even consider dong it this way.

Yes, it should be spin freely especially if it's bearing type.

Front shock mount (bearing type). Kung bearing type yung shock absorber mo, bearing type rin dapat yung shock mount mo. Ganun rin sa bushing type.
Why didn’t you rent a spring compressor at AutoZone to handle the job much easier?

Hindi dapat iikot pag naibalik na. baka putol yung coil spring kaya naiikot. Ipa double check mo na lang po.
