You're a man with a plan, I'm certain you'll win at least one race, you're doing everything right, it will happen. Having that positivity is also key, your birds will sense it and they will reward you. I might invest in a food scale also... Nice video
Hahahaha no let’s see if my plan works. Yeah I think my wife got it off Amazon for stuff. It was pretty cheap. Maybe 20 bucks but it’s a life saver. Instead of measuring again in scoops when you lose a bird or something just weigh it. It helps a lot.
Awesome video Steve! Probably your best yet I would say.. You have a great perspective on the racing game and just what needs to be done to be successful on the weekends.. You've learned a shit pile of knowledge for just being in your first season.. You analyze your daily regimen and what the birds need, which is they way it should be if you wanna be good at it. Your first win is just around the corner I'm sure! The birds are a vision of health as we can see, which reflects on the care and observance that you give them on a daily basis. Keep it up! Your are doing a great job with your young bird team and that club win may be coming sooner than you think. 😉🙂
Thanks, I think after loosing so many this year my full attention has wavered a bit probably costing me/my birds more than needed. Im going to follow your example and get on a regimented time schedule. Funny as a early sub of yours I remember racing wasn't really much of desire of yours and now you don't want less than first. Keep the motivation but dont put too much pressure onto yourself or the birds. Pigeons should also be fun and enjoying, even therapeutic for some of us. Look forward to the next one.
Ohh I’m definitely enjoying it even more now. I’m a really competitive person. I used to do fishing tournaments but you can’t do those with kids so now I have my competition again and as my daughter says “I’m in it to win it” haha
Consistency and and commitment are key. I remember my dad everything was structured every day same thing. Wish I paid more attention when he would try and teach me. Know a little though.
One missing piece is that you need to do the pep talk before each race like Sylvio😂...great video! I was also disappointed by the cancellation of the race, but I think it will help some of my birds go through the molt. Good luck for next week!
🙋🏻♂️ I wear my bandana mask around the birds. I would get those water jugs off the floor, to keep the microbes away. If I could, I would keep the water jugs out of the loft, in the shade , during off season. I am amazed that there’s no dust in the loft. 👍👍🙏
I have a fan in the top of the loft, it really helps with dust. It’s not 100% but it makes a big difference. And Which water jugs are you talking about?
To avoid health issues and stay in the game longer. I highly suggest wearing a respirator in and around the loft. That said, if loft is dry, no need to clean often. Yes it looks better but birds do not benefit from it. Imo
Hello. What I don’t understand about the feed is , a mix is not precise for racing. I learned from The Tipplermen. Single grains is what I understand, every bird is an individual. And they favor some seeds over the others. But please take my advice with a grain of salt because I never raced pigeons. 🙏
Im not sure specifically either but my understanding of it is since they’re not over fed they’re always hungry so at feeding time they’ll eat whatever you give them. The only seed they’ll leave some behind of is barley in my limited experience.
lol you make the time. I just woke up earlier during the week and took care of the birds before work. Just during the race season. I’m not doing that now.
Great video thanks for sharing this information
Great advise, I'm looking forward to your next race.

We just need to learn something new everyday and then before we know it we know a whole lot ourselves
