Gmail rolled out a bunch of cool new things recently and also optimized some of their existing features, so let’s go over some mind blowing tips every Gmail user should know!
First of all, I wish someone taught me that you could create your very own custom Gmail signature in Google Docs (and just paste it over). Speaking of Google Docs, thanks to the Smart Chip feature you can start a email draft in Docs, share with others to review, then port into Gmail directly.
You can now also set an expiration date for emails by toggling on Confidential Mode, and for emails you can’t seem to unsubscribe from, you just need to create a filter with some of the key words from that series of spam!

Compose Gmail Draft from Google Docs? You bet! Awesome video as always, Jeff!
Yes! I stayed up late to set up my email exactly as you explained in the inbox zero video. Love all these tips too!
@@haronysierra It's a super cool little trick! Thanks Harony!
Every time I think that I've mastered Gmail, Jeff swoops in and takes us to school! Love the videos! :D
Dam, now the bar is even higher 🥲
Jeff has been my single source of productivity learning for the past few months. His videos aren't just useful, they've helped me actually get work done faster. I love you Jeff. Keep going.
And hopefully for the next few years right Richard 😜
@@JeffSu For sure!
I believe this is your 7th Gmail related video, and you keep surprising from the star to the end. I can’t believe the Keep workaround, such a productivity rockstar
I can't believe it's the 7th video I made around Gmail already 😂, I guess it never gets old. Yea the Keep setting workaround is both cool and weird, because you'd think there would be a setting in gmail directly for the snooze time haha
I’m on vacation and still watching your videos, this is because your vids are one of the best on UA-cam.
I'm glad to hear this video is now part of your vacation 😂
Just found you, you have dispensed more helpful tips in the last 8 minutes than I have read all year when talking about gmail. Thank you.
Hi Stephanie! Glad we found each other 😂. Thanks so much for the kind words 😁. I had to leave your channel page because I got hungry...
For 3weeks now, I've started using inbox zero for my work email following your tutorial and it's such a game changer. My workflow heavily utilises Follow up and Awaiting labels and it's such a breeze to digest those now.
And tips in this video is definitely going in my toolbox as well. Thanks
One request though, if you can make video on how to write cold emails
That's AWESOME to hear Nova!! Congrats!
Cold emails is definitely an interesting topic and it depends on what objective of the cold email (e.g. job search vs. landing clients)
@@JeffSu Thanks. I will try to be better in cold emails by following the objective more closely
*_Hello, Jeff. I'm glad I ran across your (this) video from UA-cam's recommendations/algorithm. I love the way you present with lots of enthusiasm. I was planning just to add this to my "what to watch next" playlist but instead eventually finishing the whole video. Great presentation and great content. Learned a lot today. Instant sub._*
Woohoooo thank you for the kind words Mark!! 😁
Intro of the year! GG Jeff!
Hahaha thank you Ludovic 😁
Oh snap! 🤯 All that time you can make an email signature in Google Docs? Dumbfounded 😄 Thanks for these tips, Jeff!
No problem Aurelius! Send me your next signature on WhatsApp 😂, I'd love to see it!
Once again, a great video Jeff. Snoozing emails can often be quicker than adding the email to a task management system and assigning a follow-up date etc.
That's a great point Darius! I should have mentioned that in my video 😂
As always your video was full of awesome tips. Thank you so much for all that you share. I have mutiple email accounts and am happy to say after your inbox zero video I am always at inbox zero in all of them! Thank you Jeff! Can't wait for the next video.
Wow achieving inbox zero across multiple accounts is no small feat, congrats Monica! 😁
Hey Jeff! Thank you for creating such a simple, and amazing channel. As a full time college student, and business owner...things can get crazy hectic. Your channel has helped my productivity, and organization.
Super glad to hear it Amanda, thanks for letting me know 😁
Hey Jeff, I cannot believe your videos never popped up on my feed before! Looking at a new subscriber here and loving the pro tips you provide. Keep this valuable content coming 👊🏽
You need to blame the UA-cam algorithm!!! But I'm glad you are here now my friend 😁
You amaze me everyday by your editing techniques. Love it buddy!
Thank you Deepak! A lot of practice 😂
This is exactly what we needed!! Thanks Jeff, Gmail is so much easier to use now :)
That's exactly what I was hoping to hear Jaden 😁😁
Looking SWOLE Jeff! 💪😃. Great Video once again with great tips! Keep up The great work!
Hahaha thank you! All that bench press paying off 😂
Dude out here with the super useful videos! Thanks Jeff!
Anything for my viewers Ren 😏
Jeff, all I can say is wow. Delivery and information was top class. Keep being amazing.
Thank you so much Abi! I'm so glad you think so, thanks for making my morning 😁
I see a Jeff Su video, I click on it. I watch it, it's useful and great. Cheers Jeff.
Simple 3 step process, love it Rudi 😂
Another great video. Try turning the heating on in your studio. You could hang a wet jacket off those!
🥲 I'm never wearing that hoodie while filming again. I didn't notice how tight it was until afterwards...
AWESOME content!
You had me at algebra 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahahahaha glad you enjoyed that one!
Thank you, Jeff! That's so good!
Thanks 😁
Thank you, Jeff, for sharing these insights and shortcuts with us. This is very helpful :o)
I appreciate that you contribute to our productivity skills by teaching what you have found out.
It helps how you skillfully combine explanations with practically showing the execution. Keep going and all the best wishes to you!
Thanks so much Lee! Glad you've been enjoying these videos 😁
6.20am, waiting for my flight in airport (should be working but I am watching Jeff's video instead) - but amazing video as usual! you are amazing Jeff!
Where are you flying to?? I'm flying for the first time in 3.5 years in August hah
@@JeffSu flying to another country in SEA for work. where you going in August?
@@chypher Hong Kong!
Thanks so much for this!
You're very welcome 😁😁
The one problem with email drafting is when you transfer the email to Gmail, your email signature isn't applied. Don't know why Google has missed this.
Wow that's a great point James, I didn't even notice! We should tell the Gmail team 😂
I feel like it has only been a few weeks since I looked at one of your videos... you have blown up! Congratulations.
All because of amazing viewers like yourself Ryan 😁
Thanks Jeff for the Briskine tip 🙏😊
You're very very welcome 😁

The reformat function just blew my mind. Thanks Jeff!
Remember to use it next time Raymond 😁
Great tips! Thanks
You're very welcome 😁
Confidential Mode!!! I had no idea any email setup could ever set an auto post send delete and lock forwarding etc!
It's pretty awesome! What will you be using it for? I rarely use it if I'm being very honest haha
Great video again!
Thanks Jesse! I thought you already commented on this one, but guess not 😂
@Jeff: Can you please add these in your next video if it's achievable? 1. How to use animated logos in signature? 2. Can we change the text font used for keep? 3. How to use a neat view for emails which have multiple threads or a long ongoing email?
Great ideas, I'll keep those in mind Piyush!
Very Useful!
Glad to hear it!! 😁
Thanks for your tips, bro. They're always appreciated.
And I'm always appreciate of amazing viewers like yourself 😁

Nice work. Got a couple of tips out of it. Thank you.
Glad to hear it Scott!! 😁
I was just struggling this week with making a signature that looks good. Thanks!
Must be fate Boris! Did you end up creating something you like?
@@JeffSu sorry for responding so late. I created exactly what I wanted! Other tutorials just showed really clunky ways and third-party apps. Thanks again!
@@boriskardzhiev3085 nice!!!
Jeff your smile makes my day bro…
Hahaha thank you Steven! Glad to hear it 😁
Huh, never knew there was actually a snooze feature in Gmail 🤔 With how many times I hit the snooze button in the morning, I’m probably gonna utilize the heck out of this now haha
Thanks for the video as always!
It takes a while to get used to snoozing emails but it's a great feature to use! Let me know how it goes for you Andrea 😁
Definitely!
The problem is that if a message comes in August 1 and you snooze it until August 15, it will always appear chronologically in your inbox at August 15. There's no way to get it to sit back at August 1.
@@RealGrouchy wait but that’s the point right 😅
Oh men, first tip ....PRO
Glad to hear you say that Isaac!!
WoW 🤩 awesome
Thank you Igor 😁
Thanks for the great information. I find the “drafting emails in google Docs” to be helpful. It seems that the default for this path is to not include a signature. One just needs to remember to add it when you are in the gmail preview window. - Please keep the great tips coming.
That's a great point! Thanks for sharing Ingo!
That Gmail draft is awesome! Great tips! Also, kudos on your desk & studio settings... Looks great!
I might be doing a desk setup video soon! Let me know if that's something you'd be interested in seeing 😁
@@JeffSu totally! I’m actually moving to a new place and I want to have a nice desk setup. So I could use some great ideas!! 💡
You’ve achieved gmail productivity rockstar lol 🏋🏻♂️
If only there was a badge I can show off 😂
That new Gmail look D: Love it
Me too Rafael!
Great video! I never knew these Gmail features.
Glad to hear it Tristan!! Let me know if you end up using any 😁
@@JeffSu I absolutely enabled some
Hey,
I am a huge fan of your work and i really love the new Gmail view.. hoping a separate video soon on that. Btw is there a snooze filter where a particular mail is automatically snoozed by creating a filter for the sender??
Can you give me a specific use case?
@@JeffSu There is a newsletter coming at 8.30 every morning, since it distracts me from work, i want it to be available on my inbox at noon around 1 PM , can't i just set a filter for that sender to snooze mail till 1 PM??
Thank you.
My pleasure!
Feels amazing to be one of the first 6 people watching this 🤭🤭🤭
I feel honored you're one of the first 6!!
looks like you put on some muscle bro, good for you. Thanks for the tips as always!
Or just bought an extra small hoodie 😉. Thank you though!! haha
Jeff can I just say aluhv you such helpful tips!
You're very welcome my friend 😁
Best Google TEACHER IN THE GAME ⚡️⚡️❤️👊
Shhhh, the other teachers will get jealous 😂
@@JeffSu hahaha 😝
Hi Jeff, I have been bingeing your videos and am finding tremendous value from them. Where did the Gmail Inbox Zero video go?
It's outdated :(
You deserved more subcribers than this 🥰
Love your tips
Yea I think so too 😉
Thank you!!
I am so glad this vid popped up on my feed, it is super helpful. I subbed and am learning so much from the other videos on your channel to make my life easier. Appreciate you, Jeff!
FYI: @ 6:57 you say "forward-slash" but you put a back-slash on the screen.
I'm glad the video popped up on your feed too 😉
Thanks for the correction! I always confuse those 2!
@@JeffSu I also had trouble deciphering between the 2 until my wife gave me a great tip. Think of the slash | as if you were standing.
-When you lean forward to get a closer look at something, your top half leans / (forward-slash).
-If you want to lean back & relax, your body's top half leans \ (back-slash).
That works for me, hope it helps you also!
@@harm864 🤯 mind. Blown. Thanks for this tip!!!
very helpful
Thank you Harjit 😁
Already gave me a solution in the first 40seconds, thanks buddy ! 🙏🙏🙏
You're welcome! Which tip did you like the most?
Rockstar! Thanks
You're very welcome 😁
Must give you a like, that was useful video!
Thank you so much my friend, glad you think so!
I'm on my 5th videos fixing my digital life. God bless you man!! ❤❤❤
Haha let me know how it goes 😁
@@JeffSu it's going very well, spent 5 hours doing stuff and getting streamlined. Definitely would like to find one of your videos that covers some tips on the notes app in Apple - and some tips on how can iPad and MacBook work even more efficiently together 😀 🙏
Thanks again! I This signature thing is great and I didn't know you could paste without formatting, I always pasted and then removed the formatting. No I can do it all in one go. Yes!
Haha glad you found this helpful my friend 😁

Hi Jeff! amazing content as always! Thank you for introducing us to Briskline extension - super useful tool! could you please add your templates like you promised? I haven't seen your export in the video description - have I missed it by chance?
Please let me know when the templates are up.
It's in the first link!
Many thanks Jeff for this very useful video... perhaps one day could you make a video on how to use Google Workspace marketplace ... See U. François
I haven't used that before, I'll look into it François!
Love snoozing emails. I snoozed one this morning that was some movie tickets I ordered online to arrive back in my inbox the day I'm actually going to go to the movies.
Perfect use case Thom!!! 😁
Great
Thanks 😁
i absolutely love the new email draft feature! used it recently when i had to send an email for an event using the school's email address & was worried about formatting. any chance that they'll apply mail merge to this email draft feature soon? or if they already have, do you think you could give us a tutorial? thank you so much & have really been loving google's new updates!
Good question! I will probably do a tutorial once the feature is out 😁
@@JeffSu yay! looking forward to it!! :D i thank you for taking the time to reply to my other comments too!
I am loving your stuff! Thank you! Question - with the @emaildraft portion, why does the email not format how the doucment is formatted?
Because Gmail doesn't have format feature parity with Google Docs unfortunately!
Thank you Jeff, very useful as always. Need your Pro-advice 😊 - is there a simple way to share access to multiple documents linked in one?
I don't think so (yet). I feel like Smart Chips will evolve in the future so that if you share a document with multiple links inside, those files will also be shared automatically
Nipple City 🥶
Never going to wear that while filming again.... 😵
