What’s the one thing that can only pull me away from watching a Jinjer reaction over at another channel? The drop notification of a new Jamee Jams video! With all the demonic growling I was immersed in just now with Tatiana, this Voice Play reaction was a nice change of pace. Queen is one of my top 10 fav metal/rock bands so this reaction was a treat to watch. Good to see you Jamee Jams, hope your having a great week and until the next video take care and peace out ✌🏽
SENDING YOU MUCH LOVE RAUL!!!! :) That comment made me smile :)
The hospital patient was Earl, and the man visiting him in the hospital is his partner in real life. The bass is Geoff Castellucci, and he has quite a few solo covers where he harmonizes with several of himself.
Great reaction! To answer a few of your questions, aside for 1 or 2 songs, VoicePlay does their own arrangements. This one was done by Eli (sang lead on Another One Bites the Dust), and Layne (beatboxer with the sword). Earl who was in the hospital bed, had a health scare and that’s how this video came into being. They are definitely known for their transitions in their medleys. Many reactors comment on how clean the transitions are. If you want to check out Geoff’s solo material, might I suggest 16 Tons, House of the Rising Sun, and for a little fun, Monster Mash. Some other great videos for Voiceplay Warriors, Hoist the Colours, and Friends on the Other Side. hope this helps! 😊
I will thank you!
@@jameejams2229 Geoff (or the Geofftones as some jokingly call the multiples of him) also does Blackbird and Take Me Home Country Roads. (There's an extra Geoff in that last one.) Oh, and I can't leave out the amazing Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold from the Hobbit movies.
The bass(Geoff) and the beatboxer(Layne) arrange 99 percent of their stuff. The guy that duplicates himself on screen is Geoff. He has a 5 octave range and will multiply himself on screen so we can see that he is harmonizing with himself 😁
Amazing!
Geoff (bass) and Layne (vocal percussion) create the vast majority of VoicePlay's arrangements. I think this is a big part of what gives them such a unique sound. Oh, but you mentioned the Panic! video! It's important that you know that that video is in a series- if you want the full effect, you should first watch Trapped: Billie Eilish in 3 Minutes, and THEN follow it with the two Panic! videos, because the videos tell a story. You lose the effect if you watch it backwards.
Oops! Too late! 😁
@@jameejams2229 Their Trapped video is great to see afterwards too, I highly recommend it!! It shows how they ended up being in that Panic! scenario... 😊
Then somehow they get captured again and are forced to sing the Mission Impossible theme song and Jingle Bells at the same time. 😆 I guess everyone wants them for themselves, I know I do.
Geoff(Jeff) the bass and Layne the beatboxer do almost all of their arrangements about 50/50 I think though Eli (ellie) does occasionally does some. He arranged their Eleanor Rigby for instance, and often does the lighting effects. Geoff has occasionally done arrangements for Home Free too I believe. For me they are second to none.
Amazing! And I can totally see that with Home Free. So cool!
@@jameejams2229 also rec friend from the other side voice play cover frm Disney princess and the frog and Geoff show's off alittle
I know for sure Geoff did the arrangement for Home Free’s cover of “Elvira,” which they sang with The Oak Ridge Boys. I don’t know of any others offhand.
@@DennisKovacich ok
It is usually Layne (the beatboxer) or Geoff (the bass), that arrange their songs
They pretty much in 99% of cases do arrangements by themselves. Ussualy its Layne or Geoff!
Amazing!
His bass cover of Beatles Backbird is epic.
They do their own arrangements, at least mostly. Layne does a lot of them, and Geoff does some too (plus most of the ones for his solo channel). I don't happen to know who did this one.
Each video shows who does the arraignment. But yes, someone from the group typically arraigned it.
This is the final video of 4 that tells a tale. Trapped in 3 Minutes (Billie Eilish), followed by Panic Part 1 and 2 in 4 Minutes (Panic), and here is Queen in 5 Minutes. This set of singers are in each of the videos, here Earl is near death, the other fellows are lords of the underworld checking how pure the soul is, seen in the heart being balanced against a feather and his heart is obviously lighter than the feather. VoicePlay does nearly everything from arrangements (Geoff - the bass and Layne - the beatboxer alternate responsibility for each of the videos. Eli the other tenor (now tenor 1) has done a couple of great arrangements (Eleanor Rigby, and recently Creep). He also does lighting for the sets. J None (Anubis here with the balance) is currently in the US Navy, but has been coming back as much as possible to be in the videos) is the baritone with a great R & B sound. Earl left the group after being a part of it since middle and high school. This scenario is a result of him being hospitalized with appendicitis and nearly dying while they were on tour. He left for personal reasons and with that voice he has it's no wonder. If you want to hear some recent stuff, try: In the Hall of the Mountain King (Cesar is in this one instead of Earl), Nothing Else Matters (Metallica), In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins), Creep (Radiohead), an apocalyptic trilogy - Warriors (Imagine Dragons), Dream On (Aerosmith), ending with Seven Nation Army (White Stripes). Today VoicePlay dropped their latest - Hellfire and it is stunning.
sit back and enjoy!
Your hair looks fabulous
Sounded kinda maroon five meets pitch perfect! Love
Check out Geoff's "Shenandoah", "House of the RIsing Sun", or "SixteenTons".
I think Geoff does most of their arranging/direction .
James, I love your reactions. Keep up the good work. Please do a reaction video of Voice Plays version of Carry On My Wayward Son. Geoff ( Jeff) the low bass singer is fantastic throughout the song. Layne the beat boxer is amazing. They all are. It is one of their absolute best. Mr. Blue Sky is also one of my favorites by Voice Play.
Thanks and will do!
If you like Geoff's voice try listening to 16 tons and Headless Horseman. You'll love it
I will!!!
You close your eyes too often. With Voiceplay you can miss a lot that way! Just something to make note of. Nice background.
Usually Geoff Castelluci (bass) and Layne Stein (beatboxer/baritone) do their arragements.
Suggest Home Free "Butt remix/medley"
Hi, Jamee, love your Voiceplay reactions! They released two more medleys recently, Wicked and The Greatest Showman. They are both terrific. For drama, go with Hoist the Colours, for fun try Butter, or Bang. For Geoff's solo work - House of the Rising Sun or God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (if you're not tired of Christmas}. He has another one coming out in a couple of days.
Hang in there, girl!
Awesome and good to know!!
You should see their Wicked Medley, unreal. Also, their bass Geoff Castelluci just released a solo version of "Shenandoah ", absolutely gorgeous!
I grew up with this music. So great to see your smiling happy face Jamee ! Cheers from Australia.
And, Freddie is smiling, knowing his music has lived on.
Cheers!!!
react the showman medley its so good. plss
Ok!
Their line-up has changed a little since this video dropped. Earl (hospital bed) and J None (black guy) have left although J None came back for a wonderful role in Friends on the Other Side from The Princess and the Frog. They have a new member in Cesar de la Rosa and a guest singer for If I Were a Rich Man/Girl. And then there's the absolutely amazing HALO Theme with Scott Porter, an original member of VoicePlay who is now an actor. And please listen to his remarks after the song is over; very moving. If you watch their Boy Bands in 5 Minutes watch out for the black guy who hands over the sandwich when the guys are warming themselves over the fire in the oil drum. That's the one Scott spoke of.
Bottom line when it comes to Voiceplay or Geoff Castellucci's solo work you can't go wrong.
Geoff and lane do all there arangements that's the bass and beatboxer and I rec greatest showman and hoist the colors
Layne ,the beat boxer, and Geoff do most arrangements......Layne is the unsung genius....he also plays a mean mean mean rock/electricthis violin.....i think he is the brains behind the interesting chord progressions.....this is just my impression....no inside scoop
The person who duplicated himself in a Queen's video was probably Peter Hollens. He's a great solo acapella singer and I know he has a video out like that.
I've listened to this loads and 1st time I've heard radio gaga being sung during laynes beatboxing solo
Geoff and lane usually produce direct there stuff they are raw talent all the way through and Geoffs solo works he produces directs every thing arangements and still finds to to do arangements for home free also. I would love to see you do voice plays hoist the colors. From pirates of the Caribbean top works you will enjoy it
Welcome back t o voice play love to see you do hoist the colors.
On it!
If you do watch their Panic! in five minutes videos (Part 1 & 2), be sure to watch their Billie Eilish in three minutes video first! The three videos combined make one long story!
Haha I wish I had known that!
Actually it's Billie Eilish, Panic 1&2, then Queen in 5 Minutes that finishes it off. Just FYI
Loved your reaction and commentary! My favorite of Geoff's are Blackbird and his new God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen. outstanding!
I’ll have to check it out!
Just thought about it. My favorite for VoicePlay is one they did a while back. Carry on My Wayward Son. It packs a punch from the first note!
Actually love your reactions! I would love to see you react to "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and "Skyrim - The Dragonborn Comes", their two latest productions. Of course, everything they do is so masterfully done! Keep up the great work, Kiddo!
Will do!!
Im freakin loved in you! You are so godly beautiful and amazing!!! {}
Aww thank you! 🥰🥰
hi jamee your looking great, enjoyed this ,good spin on such iconic songs, great reaction
Great reaction!! Luv these guys...I'm a Home Fry, but the way these guys get into costume and character for each song is awesome. There arrangements are very close to Home Free levels!! :)
Yes!
Love the reaction!
🥰
You've stated you like a medley. Imo, Homefree and Voiceplay are equally awesome. Check out Homefree doing "The Butts Medley". You will not be disappointed.
