Oh to have been an 80's kid listening to all these incredible bands...Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, U2, INXS, etc. my walls were literally plastered with them all.
I was there. I was 16 in 1981 and fully embraced being a new romantic and Duran Duran. Everyone I show my teen photos to immediately comment you look like Duran Duran. Mullet, highlights, earings! Girls loved it. It was such a fantastic time to be a teenager. I saw Duran in Hyde park summer 2022 for the first time ever and they were incredible.
Yes born in 1969 I got to see these iconic bands come out! My first concert was Duran Duran 1984 at 15. Depeche Mode. Cure. INXS. Human League. So many great alternative bands! The 80’s was fantastic.
Roger came out of his shell!!! I have never heard him speak much, and with a smile and letting loose! He was SOOO shy and introverted when they began. 😁❤️
I love how Simon said how much he missed John "terribly"! So did the fans. This fan, we missed him terribly too. Glad they got back together. I noticed Simon never said he missed Andy!!!
Took my two oldest kids to see Duran Duran in Denver, it was pretty amazing, they had listened on many car trips to all the CDs, was their first concert.
For the last almost 40yrs... This could be the first time i ever listened to Roger talking that much. Couldnt even find him finishing one complete sentence in thier US TOUR Video back in 1984. Also heard Andy spoke in his true accent for the first time.. Always love them and happy that they are still together after ll this years
The only band that still gives me chills, from the first note to the last evokes memories of my youth. And still drop dead gorgeous. Long may you reign
Great documentary, so thank you for the upload. I think it portrayed the band members as very articulate, which is not always the case. I saw them recently at Madison Square Garden, and they were great. I can certainly understand their longevity.
Long live Duran Duran! Paper gods is AWESOME! The more I listen the more I like it! For them to create such an album 30 years later proves they were not just a phase from the 80's! And I think Simon looks especially delish for being in his 50's!
Having 3 older sisters during the 80's my ears and eyes were blitzed with Duran Duran albums and videos. Their videos always kept my elementary school interest-usually in exotic non-Western locations that gave a glimpse of locales I'd never seen. Wow what's happened to music today!?
Duran Duran los mejores y más fabulosos de todos los tiempos gracias por compartir con nosotros los fans de Duran Duran este video simón es lindo mi favorito ❤💋😍😍😍
As a musician myself, I have very eclectic tastes. I have always loved Duran Duran, especially everything they did in the 80's. I also, listen to bands such as Van Halen, Volbeat, Disturbed and the list goes on...instrumentalists like Joe Stariani and Steve Vai as well, but among my hodge podge of music that I keep on a thumb drive in my car is every album from Duran Duran from the 80's. Throws my kids heads for a spin, when they here me listening to those albums in my car. They just can't see me listening to synth driven, neo-disco tainted music (and I hate disco), since I am viewed as the headbanging lead guitarist dad!
Well, they were a secret guilty pleasure back in the day for most young males like me, but now they are dyed in the wool national treasures for everyone. Their latest album is absolutely bloody brilliant. Just brilliant. Duran Duran: they're winners. Accept them.

Duran Duran should be taught, glorified and repeated relentlessly at the Fine Arts because they were so sensual and striking in terms of style communication approach during the eighties. Duran Duran needs to be definitively brought back to an irradiant and mondial light through the world of art in general. Patrick Nagel, Christy Turlington, James Bond... @@christianneitzel I don't mind pressure off with Nile Rodgers, I just miss the hard rocking guitar of Andy Taylor. Live in London DVD of original lineup is the sh.t.
I’d lost touch with Duran Duran but the reunion tour brought me back and reminded me how much I love them. There is some terrific footage here of them happily creative but it’s almost painful to watch with Andy gone again. I’ll always be a fan but in reference to Andy’s pizza analogy there is a piece missing now.
In the early 80s i was only listening to hawkwind motorhead cann gong steve hillage etc..when i found myself 13 years later enjoying " ordinary day " and " too much information " i thought i had lost my mind .....👽🐱
Loved this band!! Nick Rhodes was not my favorite (there was just something about him that didn’t click with me) but I loved The rest of the band. I didn’t think Nick was the best synthesizer/keyboard player at the time. (. But he thought he was the best) it wasn’t until earlier this year I discovered that John Taylor was the original member of the band that started it all. The rest of the band was absolutely incredible! I saw them in concert in Roanoke Virginia in February 1984.❤️❤️ my boyfriend at the time was a hard rock pan and loved Van Halen. My ex-boyfriend was also an excellent drummer and we saw the van Halen concert the month prior to Duran Duran. After the Duran Duran concert was over, my boyfriend at the time told me that Duran Duran put on a better concert! 😳😳 I could not believe those words came out of his mouth. They put on one heck of a show
I still loved her and ran don't get me wrong I'm still a gigantic fan always will be but I agree and he's my favorite too Ronnie and they are still funky and they still can be heavy with some of the rock with the new guitarist but I think that they lost some of their balls when they had Andy gone cuz Andy really was the balls of the group
@ MrKeefrichards - Except nobody messed with the chemistry of the band!! They still sound great! Listen to Paper Gods. Andy left the band for the THIRD time in 2006 on his own free will.
@ AH Hofer - It is what is. Very few bands end up with all original members. Ever been in a band or been married? It’s like being married to multiple partners! It’s quite difficult to hold it together.

With all due respect, but you should definitely give DD's album "All you need is now" (2010) and "Paper Gods" (2015) a try... Songs like "The man who stole a leopard", "Before the rain", "Leave a light on", "You kill me with silence", "What are the chances?" and "The universe alone" are masterpieces to say the least...

Well said and spot on !!!
@@christianneitzel I don't mind pressure off with Nile Rodgers, I just miss the hard rocking guitar of Andy Taylor. Live in London DVD of original lineup is the sh.t.
@@tonymontana-uw1bq Check out "Some Like It Hot" or "Get It On, Bang A Gong" by The Power Station.
Best of luck to these guys , I wish them all the best.
Awesome vid x
I’d lost touch with Duran Duran but the reunion tour brought me back and reminded me how much I love them. There is some terrific footage here of them happily creative but it’s almost painful to watch with Andy gone again. I’ll always be a fan but in reference to Andy’s pizza analogy there is a piece missing now.
In the early 80s i was only listening to hawkwind motorhead cann gong steve hillage etc..when i found myself 13 years later enjoying " ordinary day " and " too much information " i thought i had lost my mind .....👽🐱
Andy looks like he belongs in the Ramones, with that hairdo and sunglasses.
They put on one heck of a show
John Taylor is the most amazing member of DD...
I was at the Roanoke show too! It was amazing.
What were the songs played at 0:04 and 3:46
So...After all these years. Damn...over thirty years have passed. And I learn that this band, my beloved Duran Duran was really the Simon Le bon band.
???
Is it fuck? It is and always has been Nicks band. He even owns the name ffs
shame not the same without andy never mess with the chemestry of the band!
The chemistry is still good. But it’s not the same, and I’m sorry, but without any one of those five guys, it’s a lesser magic.
@@Galaxie500IN yes great point Andy is my favorite
@ AH Hofer - It is what is. Very few bands end up with all original members. Ever been in a band or been married? It’s like being married to multiple partners! It’s quite difficult to hold it together.
The 5 of you make magic.
Simon and Andy are in spinal tap!
