The fact that Hank Jr and Waylon were both tuned up out of their minds on coke at this point makes it funnier for some reason. They eventually “rowdy’d all down” and are all geniuses in my book.
Agreed cause he gives credit to all the other ones who helped shape him into the greatest entertainer of all time! And song writer and guitar player and, and and and
Agreed such a unique soul and life can't be easy being the son of hank no nepotism there that boy is as good as all of the great country artists I've heard some people say he is the goat 😮 songs like this definitely put him in the picture
Remember being 4 or 5 years old getting sent to the corner of the room in kindergarten for singing Family Tradition. My daddy turned me onto the outlaw Era music and I'm 44 years old still listening and missing my dad everyday.
Hank was a party guy but he was way more talented than the rest. Saw him in bama in 89 they had to prop him up but he still played better sloppy drunk than I could sober!
Here in 2024 this music will never die from the people who know what real music is. Im a 23 year old thats been singing along to hank sr and hank jr. Theres no better music than old country music cause it always means something and has a story wether its good or bad.
It’ll all make sense and work out one day Beverly. Not to minimize your feelings, I can definitely sympathize. It’s all temporary though and will come together in the heavenly kingdom! 😃
Grew up on Hank, coe, Daniels, and the rest of the classics.... I feel like I relate to dinosaur now more than ever. Those were the real artists we won't ever see the likes of again.
That's a great video! I'm really glad Hank is now in the Hall of Fame, love, Kris,Waylon, and Willie . Garth Brooks is a phony, these guys are what Country Music is. Keep on rolling,Bocephus, and Willie!!
Love this video. I discovered Hank’s music in 1982 when I was 19, and he is my all-time favorite performer and entertainer, by far. My curiosity was getting the best of me as I was trying to figure out where this clip came from. I did a little research, and it seems it’s from a 1984 show called Waylon Jennings and Friends. There were reportedly eight parts/episodes. There’s a UA-cam channel called Angie Rockgiirl on which she has posted them. I’m sure someone will let me know if my information is incorrect, so I apologize in advance. I just felt that since I was so curious about it, I figured that there are others wondering, as well.
Thank you! I’ve been wondering the same thing for the past year but never did the research, after seeing various of short clips on Facebook I finally told myself I’d finally try and track down the whole video. You just saved me so much time probably lol
Ain't no pop country here boys and girls. This is grown folks music time! RIP to all the Legends who are gone and many more years to the ones we have left.
Love his impersonation of George, and playing his guitar like Johnny Cash.... Merle Haggard could also do great impressions of his fellow friends/musicians/peers. Love how these guys love and respect each other's talents!!!
nobody else could cover this song because of how many personal touches he put into it to make his friends laugh at themselves and eachother way to go , ole boy.
I'm from over the big pond here in England. I just love that southern drawl, I love Don Williams's velvet voice too. There are so many great Country and Western singers out there. Thank you all for the great heart-tugging songs, that some of us can relate to.
Random thought, but that wouldve been so cool if Hank jr was one of The Highwaymen. I get why he wasnt, he was huge at the time and had his own thing, but that wouldve been amazing.
God damn it's really amazing to watch these old videos and realize just how good that man really was with just an acoustic guitar and his voice....fucking legend
This shit make me cry all these legends in one room and what do we have to pay them back into today's music jack shit country music been dead amd gone for a long time
Imagine sitting around with those guys and being the common thread among them all.?.?.? Yeah, a lot of them are close friends but usually with one or two of the others. Hank Jr. is tight with all of them. Hank Jr. is the most well rounded C&W, entertainer in history. Blues, Country, Rock......whatever it is, he excels at it all. Plus, he's a real American patriot. Gotta love that guy !!!!!!!!!!!!
This is real country folks ! If you like old country this video will about give you chills ! It really is electric , and Hank Jr blew anything he did out the roof ! Wish we could step back in time to these guys in their prime, oh how the music and world would both be so much better ! RIP to all the legends and thanks to your work , real country music will live on forever, I hope youngsters find this music for years to come and choose it over today’s new crap !

I can't count how many times I have watched this video. this is great country music history.
Billy McIver I can't count on two hands and both feet how many times I've watched it since the day before yesterday.
Very underrated, my brothers and i love this.
Never been a big fan of Jr. but this is really good!!!
Agree, at least my 100th time watching this video😉
its so great
It is 2023 and I am still listening to Hank Williams Jr
Why do I watch this over and over. Can’t quit listening to hank’s impersonations I love Kris’s reaction to his George impression
Because this has real country singers and it's one of the songs that's real country music
I know what you mean. I've watched quite a few times myself and I'm sure I'll watch some more.
Because this era bocephus just put 9 albums on the charts at da same dam time! He was WAAY Betta than the rest.
Because they partied with george jones and he was the rowdiest of them all and the impression is on point 😂 it's hilarious 😂
Me to that I've had on repeat all night
Still listening in 2024
That George Jones impression is magical
Willie is stoned out of his mind
As usual, lol.
I love Hank William Sr he have the good cool country music ever
As well as still being better than the newbies from the past 20 or so years.
High as a Space Shuttle.
So am I
The fact that Hank Jr and Waylon were both tuned up out of their minds on coke at this point makes it funnier for some reason. They eventually “rowdy’d all down” and are all geniuses in my book.

In my opinion this was one of Hank Jrs best songs he’s ever done ❤️
I agree! I always come back to watch this video. The song, this performance - I love everything about it!

Waylon, Johnny, George, are all gone. All we have left is bocephus, willy, and kris
Dont forget David allen coe, Charlie pride, and Loretta
@@jimmyfarrell4275 Coe? David Allan Coe was NEVER a star. Coe was C-list at best. Nobody in Nashville liked him because he was a loudmouth and a liar.
Catfish Cooler David Alan coe was a 100% country music star no question, might need to go check your facts again pal
Mainly Willie.
Alan Jackson, Travis Tritt, Dwight Yokoam, Buddy Brown.
You don’t hear very many singer song writers that sound this damn good
Never gets old does it
You can't be more of a country insider than this man is, Junior's holding court right here
Ole hank had many great teachers
Remember being 4 or 5 years old getting sent to the corner of the room in kindergarten for singing Family Tradition. My daddy turned me onto the outlaw Era music and I'm 44 years old still listening and missing my dad everyday.
I never realized how great his rhythm is on an acoustic
Ya the chords sound different too.
Hank was a party guy but he was way more talented than the rest. Saw him in bama in 89 they had to prop him up but he still played better sloppy drunk than I could sober!
@@budstik He's playing in the same key as the original.
Lol.
The album version is more tame. That's usually how it is for artists and they go HAM live.
This man knew the longer he wait to play the more drunk he gets 😂 Bust it out early 🎉
he absolutely nailed the George Jones impression....
drduke10978 it was absolutely spectacular
And the others he slipped in. They smiled when they heard themselves.
When he did the George Jones impression lmao

2024 just started and I still watch this twice a week
My son in 2023 just showed me this video there is hope
One of my favorite traits of the singer songwriters that I love is a sense of humor. Hank Jr clearly has it as did his father.
To all you pop country kids this was real country
Not one of todays "country music singers" can fill any of these mens boots.
One of the greatest things ever recorded in human history
The same people who are still listening in 2024

I love how someone laughs when he says im honored to be here
I love this song. I live in Mexico now, but this song always reminds me of the time (20 years) I spent in Prescott Valley, Arizona! Such good music.
Underrated and underappreciated by the larger music community.
Hall of Fame crowd right there. Every guy is a country legend.
Anybody still listening in2023?
Willie look like he hit the bong, joint, and blunt right seconds before they panned to him😂
2:45 Willie’s blazed out of his mind
Wow. People having a good time and laughing instead of getting furious
As a southerner, i feel hank jr. is the model of a modern southern man.
